prince george's county police headquarters. paul? >> hey, tom, we spent considerable amount of time today here in prince george's county trying to learn everything we could about caroway. we learned he spent much of his young life in glenn arden, in the area where it is allege today have taken these videos, we also learned today the fbi, maryland, child explore takes task force has joined the investigation. and they've set up a special hotline. >> prince george's county police say caro way used his phone installed with a kik messenger app to record children as young as nine engage in the sex act. some of them according to police at his direction, and in other, caroway is a participant. one of the videos shot inside a bathroom at judge sylvania woods elementary school. police have been onto him since last thursday night, have expanded the investigation to include the feds. >> at this point, we know there are at least ten

victims. our concern is that number could grow and could grow by a large amount. we don't know that yet. we're not there yet. and that's why there is so much time and resources devoted to this, to figure out exactly how big an investigation we're dealing with. >> according to a source, familiar with the investigation, caroway came to the city of glenn arden in 2014, and asked if he could start a choir and rehearse inside the glenn arden municipal center. a choir made up of young children aged nine to 13, the 22 year old also dis can some work with children across the street, at the theresa banks memorial aquatic center. no one there today would comment on what exactly caroway did. the school volunteer lived in glenn arden with his mother at this apartment on the parkway, no answer at the door today. >> we have received about 20 phonecalls from the community, several of them being tips regarding caroweway.

>> no one with prince georges school would go on camera, superintendent traveling. but in a statement the school system says officials are shocked by the allegations and said employees and volunteers go through proper screening process. police say caroway used a messenger app kik to communicate with the kids and other as you can see, can access camera on a phone. >> now, we want to drive this point home, that the biggest question here is how did this man become alone inside the school with these young kids and be able to film them. according to police we reached out to the school system, wanted to see if someone would go on camera, explain how this man was able to get into the school and do what he did. however, we were told that no one in the school system would talk on camera, and the superintendent was unavailable. as far as the fbi is concerned, they have set up a hotline, if you feel that your child, or someone you may know may have had some contact with

in we still have snow showers around, too. i'll get you caught up on that. but we are concerned that it will be much colder tonight than it was last night. we were saved not only getting up to 40 degrees today at reagan national so that a little bit of quarter inch of liquid was mostly all rain. could have been 2 inches of snow, and it was more snow as we look up toward maryland. let me show you some of the snow totals up there, why we have to, especially watch these areas that got more significant snow across maryland for re-freeze tonight, some icy spots, line borough, maryland almost 6 inches, new market, maryland, 4.5, virginia, 2 inches, damaskus got 4 inches, but boy if you come down to the district might have seen snow, did not stick. only recorded trace at reagan national. although, that was about a quarter inch of liquid. so if it had been cold enough, could have been 2 inches of snow locally as well. we also still have some winter weather advisories until midnight. that is mostly across some of these northern counties. so, you're still in it in frederick, also up toward baltimore county, heavier snow

totals were. two areas remain, and we could still see few more snow showers later tonight which is why you saw that angry looking sky when we looked at our tower cam. down to the south still few more showers across orange county of snow, this more rain as you get toward spotsylvania, port royal, still watching little left over snow shower activity up to our north, and a bit more back to the west. there is one more piece of this system still to come through later tonight. we will call it upper level low pressure, or a trough. and when that swings through later tonight, it is still possible we could get another round of some snow showers, flurries, and it will be a much colder night, so we have to worry that some of that could be a little bit slippery err, certainly, anything that was wet could also be refreezing tonight. so that's our headline. watch for icy spots, freeze, likely tonight, as we are going to be headed down into the 20's, and we're on our way down now, although, it will be getting a lot colder in the overnight hours. much more to talk about with that, and the coldest air of the season coming in for the weekend, or at least coldest

> this is fox5 local news at 5. a new plan announced by mayor muriel bowser today will close d.c.'s largest homeless shelter by 2018 and open eight smallerer ones across the city. fox5 has shown you the all off living conditions at d.c. general. for years leaders have said they wanted to close it and now they have a timeline. the mare announced smaller shelters to be built across the

general cost $17 million a year to run. well, these shelters will cost about $22 million and the mayor said not only these units will take the place of d.c. general, but also all those hotel rooms across the district where some homeless people are living they will now live in these shelters. she was praised by many on the council today. we asked her about those who may not be so happy with these locations. we're sending a package to the council and there will bee approvals required.uire i wouldn't put something inhing front of a neighborhood that n wasn't well thought out, thatl balanced the needs for homeless neighbors and the community. ithee wouldn't do that. t i want you to take a look at a this proposed location.n. this is in ward 5. council member kenyan mcduffie asked the mayor today at a breakfast meeting to choice another place because he believes that is smack dab in an
