learned? >> reporter: very concerningte situation out here. the police say 3 of their officers were responding to some sort of incident at this home th right here behind me. and when they arrived they were greeted by gunfire all three of the officers were shot and had to be air left ted to fairfax hop hospital. all of this happened a ruined ri 5:30 this evening. eve this is very much an active ongoing investigation. police said thraw some sort of domestic incident.do they are working to confirmfi whether that was a shooting. the reason they have little information on what happened asa soon as investigators got herega they were shot. now police have said the person who opened fire on those officers was arrested. arr they are not, however, saying who this person is. we also do not know the names of the officers that were injured. and unfortunately we do not knon how they are doing

how many police officers are on scene? >> is it mostly detective orostl still firefighters in the area? >> reporter: well its actually y very large seen because several streets are closed. lashmere court that's the househ the house is on is closed as well as the street that that intersects there are severalts streets that are t closed. right in front of us there are about ten officers, yeah about ten officers right on this o immediate corner where the home is. but again several streets are closed. and we have seen investigators canvassing the area talking to t neighbors including some is the once that we talked to as well. so there are easily more officer than that spread out throughout the area its a large seen that they are canvassing. they do believe they have thee person who shot the officers in custody. its a matter of talking to witnesses and also police did say that there were

awful information.l prince william county police confirming is it one of their oe officer a female officer has died. this after three officers respond to do a domestic incident at this home here behind me on lashmere court in woodbridge. now this officer her name is ashley guindon and a source tells me that she was actually just sworn in to the police department yesterday. today was her first day out in the field. f in fact the prince william county police department hadartn just tweeted a photo of her recently welcoming her to the department so you can imagine how awful this news is for this entire community, the policelice department, her family.y. just the worse possible news wel could be reporting tonight. i'm told that the other two officers that were with her are still being treated at fairfax hospital. we don't have any other kind of update on their condition. now this all started with some kind of domes
