neighbors here remember what it was like last summer. police saying however this incident is completely unrelated because the suspects then were already arrested. >> i was shoykd can't believe in this neighborhood. >> an attempted abduction in this arlington neighborhood. >> we come here weeks and evenings it's a wonderful park it's safe. >> police say it was here at the number one mark a woman in 50s was out or a walk tuesday and it was at dusk when two men approached and tried to kidnap her. >> they placed something over her head and grabbed her and tried to muffle her screams by putting their hands over her mouth. >> in second she was able to fight them off. it left neighbors feeling uneasy. >> it's scary this is a quiet neighborhood. my wife walks around you know quite frequently and you know having a new child, too, it definitely scares you more. >> come out

between men were shot. one suffered serious injuries anteother is expected to survive. investigators think there was a fight before the shooting and they're serving for a suspect tonight. >> campus police are investigating reports of two sexual assaults at george mason university. and the first alleged incident happened friday night on or near fairfax. a student was raped by another student and may have been unknowingly drugged and another sold he was raped in a dorm. students who live on campus say they're worried. >> i mean it's concerning. but i mean it's especially because on this campus i usually feel pretty safe walking a round at night. i never feel unsafe on this campus. >> i was surprised just because you don't care too much from this area. >> nip with information is asked to call university police

attack because they thought authorities were closing in on them. local authorities here are taking no chances. metro beefed up their force with help from other diments and many passengers said they did not see increased presence. tom fitzgerald surveyed the metro station to get a firsthand look. . >> well, we'll be very blunt with you. we tried for the better part of day to get the metro police chief to talk to you about exactly what it is metro is doing to keep people safe sipt brussels attack. the answer we got back time and time again was the chief was too busy. so left to our own devices we tried an sdporment go on to metro to see if we could see any increased security. . >> it's 1:15 in the afternoon gallery place metro we'll walk around and see if we can find increased security we've been told about. >> so off we wept. now gallery place is one of the major transfer stations in metro rail

metro spokes people said the transfer stations like this one are probably places we see a lot of police. red, blue, green, yellow lines all coming together. remember this is cherry blossom season the city is packed with tourists. we walked upper levels and lower levels gallery place for bert part of an hour going up and down escalators walking from 7 and 8 street and f street and most of our walking tour we encountered no officers from the washington metropolitan transit authority police. finally as we left that station we did find one officer by hi himself who stepped into a station manager booth to monitor video screens and headed to the platform. does this mean there's no police ton metro. passengers told us they expected to see more than they did. >> you have noticed increased police presence since you've been here? >> not

gallery place. tom fitzgerald, "fox5 local news". >> sound of gun shots sent people scrambling for cover in a southeast d.c. neighborhood this afternoon. they saw a man with a weapon 600 block of mellon street and began firing at him and he was not hit and police were able to take him into custody a short time lighter. police recovered the weapon on the scene. >> d.c. public libraries are investigating a report tat a muslim woman was asked to leave the shaw library because she was wearing a hajob. they're looking in reports a public safety officer asked a woman to remove what he thoughts with a hoodie. a library spokesperson said it's taking action seriously and officer involved has been removed from patrol and library director is trying to track down the woman. >> woman in question we have not been contacted by her. and we would love to get in touch with her frankly to number one

>> us park police identified a man they say tried toe abduct a child at the smithsonian air and space museum. 60-year-old bernard dray tried to grab a child's happened and then walk away near one of the museums entrances. and surveillance video shows on the screen and then you see dray runaway when a chaperone yells at him. police say he then boarded a white shut bus outside the museum. a warrant is issue you'd for his arrest and anyone with information is asked to call police. >> prince george county police they are trying to solve a homicide the victim is identified as 32-year-old ra shat shad tate of south east d.c.. his body was discovered early this morning. police believe he was shot and then set on fire. the scene was shut down for hours while police looked for clues. >> when our officers arrived they discovered adult male

line of duty. >> colson's viewing will be healed tomorrow beltsville and his funeral friday in upper mo mowboro. >> new details about tuesday's officer involved shooting in fredericksburg and the suspect killed by police had an outstanding warrant. investigators say travis player refused to comply during a traffic stop and dragged an officer with car before crashing into a ditch. after a chase on foot player refused to comply with orders. during a struggle player was shot in the leg and later died at the hospital. virginia state police are conducting the investigation now into that shooting. >> tonight, we are hearing from a d.c. woman who experienced first happened the brussels terror attack. ashley rugman was in the airport when the bombs wept of off. and "fox5" political reporter veronica clearry spoke with ashley today and has her story. >> ashleyburgman was in brussels for annual work conference and headed to copenhagen for vacation on tuesday morning. she was supposed to leave for the airport at 7

to leave at 7 instead plan ago head for possible traffic in brussels. and once she arrived she checked in at the airport and was looking for a cup of coffe coffee. and then suddenly people started to run. i spoke with her today via skype about the experience and chaos inside the airport after the attacks. >> tuesday morning a rivd at the airport luckily had -- i was supposed to leave my hotel 30 minutes later but i like to be early for things so i pushed up my pickup time and luckily i was through security when the bombs went off. so, all i saw i was look around for coffee. since it was early. and all of a suddenen a few people started running past me and i thought they must be running for a plane but then it was more and more and more people and then just dozens of people running panicked and some of them were crying. and that's when you

batman versus superman dawn of justice hits theaters friday and our own kevin mccarthy who already hasstein twice, of course, also sed sat down with man of steel himself superman played by henry caval. >> when do you like the superhero landing and come down and land hard. i know digital affects are there what do you have to do in the shot to make it look like you landing like that. how do you film that. >> essentially if i can just get you know 30 or 40 feet in the air and jump off a cherry picker or something and see how much my knee can take and they film that and if my knees don't explode they move on. >> seriously though. >> you're the like no, seriously. >> how do you do that. >> you start on tiptoes and you drop as quickly as you can into what you would imagine alike pressure landing would be. >> amazing. >> yes. >> pretty simple you get used to it and play around

and start twisting and stuff and depending how you land or where you land it will all changing. >> when you leave a project like this what is something you learn about yourself as a person and actor. >> okay, one thing i learned about this about me in particular is how much i genuinely love superman and character. i've become quite protective in sometimes quite aggressive ways and i want to make sure the guy is respected property early. and i did not realize that was in me. i knew hi it for my family and my friends but -- and my dog. but when it comes down tie character or role i always had a sense of relationship like with charles brown in tudors i had a closeness to the character. nev like this. this i protect like a mother hen protects chicks. it's kind of crazy sometimes. >> is there something you built into superman that was never written in the xhikz that did you yourself to get in the character more. >> that's a good question
