underneath heavy boxes and unfortunately today one man never made it out. a couple employees were crushede right in front of me. i sawç it with my own eyes. what started as another afternoon of work turned deadly in an instant. the support system, i guess for the beams started crushing,rush started buckling, and a domino effect all the way down the aisle, everything came down. it was very chaotic. everybody was jumping off l pallets. an aisle of steel pallet racks holding thousands of boxes of frozen food product cameame crashing down. >> they're 30-foot tall.foot think of your local warehousearh store that you go into and put it on steroids. this picture shows fire crews inside the ryan heart food services searching for a missing employee. >> a man did not survive theurvi collapse and two o

co-workers left in critical condition and air lifted to the hospital. >> i had four beams sitting onn top of my lift. i couldn't go anywhere.dn't the guy that was on the crutches, he saved me becausee they wouldn't have found me if he didn't climb over the top off the debris to look for me. he fell looking for me. this video shows the collapse of a similar high pile rack storage system at an unassociated facility. employees hearsay they'rethey thankful to be alive.liv not only did we lose a good employee, he's a good father. i mean, he had another one onne the way. it's just senseless. several agencies, including osha will be investigating to try to and determine what exactly tookc place inside this warehouse. they want to determine whether this was something spontaneous or if an actual event may haveae provoked the collapse. life tonight in manassas, marina maracco, fox5 local news. n > in other news tonight there'e no decision yet on whether the

washington monument will reopen top. it was closed this afternoon after an elevator stopped work. about 40 people got stuck at thk top of the building and had toad walk down hundreds of stairs toa reach the bottom. thankfully no oneto was hurt. workers are making repairs on the elevator. this is, of course, not thenot first time elevator problems e havel caused the monument to close. as recently as last month a problem with the elevatorleva control box closed the monument for several days.ra also in the district, a frightening attack, police say 15 kids attacked a man on a local trail. tra it happened just before 5 on thh metropolitan branch trail in northeast. sarah simmons is life tonight near the trail with the very latest. >>reporter: shawn, i'm actually on the trail right now. this is when you would expect t be the victim of a an attack.ac. it's nighttime.ight there are very few people on the trail. here's the problem, this is happening during daylight hours. a man was attacked by what they presumably to be juveniles, more than a dozen of them.

happened before on this stretch of trail. just like any other trail you see people running and biking on the metropolitan branch trail. just a few hours before we shot this video, a man was attacked by a group of juveniles. it happened not too far from the rhode island avenue metro stop. helena also son walks this trait just about every day.ay i'm sorry that that happened and the sad thing about it, this is just spring break. as the heat rises, folks are going to be doing more crazierra things. this isn't the first time. last july a woman was attacked while riding her bike on thehe trail. she happened to be wearing a camera on her helmet and it recorded some of the suspects during the attack. after that the neighborhood pushed to make the trails safer. lights have been installed alonl the trail along as mile markersk to find emergency crews in need of help. but ralston would still like tol t be some improvements.

from ohio. and -- but you know you have to just do what you do.o. you just can't stop your life because what's going on. there's nothing that you can really do about it. a bystander was slightly wounded during yesterday's incident. we are told the person should be okay. more now on the suspect larry dawson. police shot him.ce he is still in the hospitalospi recovering. dawson is a minister from f tennessee. this was not his first run in at the capital. last october, d.c. superior d.c court i bed a stay away order. it required him to keep away from the capital grounds. the order was issued after he disrupted the house chamber last fall by shout weighs a profit os god. when mr. dawson failed to appeae in court in november, the judgee issued a want. he replied with a letter saying he did not answer to the courts, only to god. things are back to normal at dulles international airport tonight after part of the mainan terminal was shutdown due to a suspicion package. officials say an unattended bagg was found around 5 am p. they cleared the scene as a

officials gave the all clear anc the public was allow back in the area just a few hours later. several ticket counter and package care sewells were impacted. passengers are urged to use online check in before arrivingr at the airport. and in prince william county, police are trying to identify aa body found in a lake this thi afternoon. this was the scene from sky fox. the lake sits behind a hotel on williamson boulevard iniams manassas. a hotel worker called police after noticing something suspicion in the water when officers arrived they found the body. right now it is unclear if thisf was an accident or foul play. > a teenager was murdered inure front of his family at a d.c. d. metro stop.me tonight, there is a crack in the case. we'll tell you what led policeht to make an arrest. also ahead tonight, donald trump's campaign manager is facing battery charges and the republican front runner is not t too happy about it. i what he had to say tonight. teisha. >>reporter: hi, shawn, tonight a controversial plan to rezone the school district here in

conservative news site refused f to stand behind her story.y. closer to home the trump campaign wants to open a new a office in the district.n it will be the campaign's first major expansion of senior staffs outside of new yorkment the y purpose of the d.c. office is to reach out to members of congress. officials say they hope to openo the office as early as next week. however, the campaign is not yet secured a space or signed a lease. fox5 is in loudon county tonight. the community there is torn oveo a plan to rezone the schoolool district. some say the plan would segregate the county's poor and minority students.mi teisha lewis is life in ashburn tonight. i heard things got a little heated. >>reporter: shawn, they did get heated and at the heart of thist debate is changing the zone maps which could have returned r thousands of students to schools closer to their homes.. that's a move that critics say would segregate many studentsat here in loudon county.. and we're talking about possiblo and potentially it could have

poorest students and also many immigrants. tonight inside this building b which is now closed everybody has packed up and gone home. tonight the board voted to compromise and adopt plan 8 an amenned plan impacted a few fe hundred of students instead of thousands. it also prevents the county's poors and minority students to t being sent to a small number ofb select students in the area. it sunned a zoning proposal called plan 126789 it would have reassigned nearly 12,000 low income students who now attend nickly integrated diverse schools to two schools with w higher poverty rates. some school board members saymbr the plan was developed to address over crowding at every green million elementary in leesburg. that was all at the top of tonight's agenda at this meeting in headquarters. currently, students in that area are attending several different schools and being bus passed

closer schools. the board could have made hav wholesale changes tonight and reassigned nearly 2,000 student0 or even reassigned a few hundred students again tonight'sonig compromise will do the latter. we spoke with parents on both sides of the issue. i support plan 1 because i b believe there is no reason why central loudon needs to be the e exception in loudon county, fairfax and prince william d.c. city schools do not take portions of their population ano bus them across lines to another school. just too balanced demographics. plan 12 reseg gates us.s it turns back the clock. it puts us right back p into the '6 0s where we have segregateed schools. > i did speak with loudon county's naacp president who pre broke down what he feels and what he says is at the root of r this controversy.rsy.

guilty. a teenager is charged with the t murder of 15 year old davonte washington. maurice bellemy was arrested a last night and is being heldeld without bond. bellemy shot and killed davonte washington as he stood on thehe platform at the dewood station in northwest. >>reporter: in the court affidavit filed in the case, police say this is maurice bellemy a teenage aer who callsc him shoot mo and posted this photo on facebook. last saturday just before 4:00,, bellemy walked onto the platform at the dean wood metro station with two friends and somehow gos the attention of the 15 year old washington who was sitting withg his family minding his own business and looking at his home. the court affidavit says washington looked up and said what you talking about cuss, and seconds later after both said si what's up to each other, witnesses say bellemy pulled out a gun and fired twice killing the teen. of all the tragic things that

>> right. > i'm zac's dad. da without zac my life would have v gone in a very different di direction. i think i would have just been another washington lawyer focused on some very small matter that i convinced myself was very important. but zac made me see a different world. go back to when you guys got the diagnosis, you found out that zac had autism. a how did it change things for you? >> well, i knew that there would be an adjustment, but the first feeling i had was i don't know what to do and that was a scary feeling. i think it's a feeling a that a lot of parents share. am i up to this? what's the road map like. really, everyone has their own road map and one of the things i found out that was that my wife and i were up to this. we, i think, have done a decent job. i hope so, of being

> absolutely. so as you've taken that gurney from childhood to adolescent to adulthood, what are some of thet challenges that you experienceda as he grew up.t >> well, i wanted to make t sure -- my wife and i always make sure that he was part of the community. zac is different, but thathat difference shouldn't mean that he was separate from the community. we always wanted zac to be asbe involved in the community as his younger brother. that means that when we go someplace, zac always goes with us no matter where we go, we gow with zac.zac. > what do you want folks out there who are watching, who are going through life with a childl who has autism who will transition from that teenage year into being an adult? what do you want to tell them? whatt do you want them to know aboutbt this process? >> i want them to be strong

be fearless and to insist that their kids get every opportunitr that a kid without a disability might get. when you say do that, what should they be doing. >> they should be talking too schools. they should be talking too potential employers.loye they should be talking withth everyone to make sure that their kids are not relegated to ao second place position in life.le and zac has always been a terrific companion. he will uncomplaining go with me to home depot. he will do my errands.. if i am listening to a sports op the radio and my team is losing and i start complaining, zac isa not going to disagree with me. zac will be there for me. > when people see zac, what do you want them to know about him. >> i want them to know that he is a wonderful, sweat individual and that autism doesn't
