fox5 is in the district, check out this amazing video, a group held up a mcdonald's in southeast by muling their way into the drive through window. fox5 tissue's lewis is life onif the scene tonight with the story. >>reporter: it wasplikely thiss drive through window right here because the first window isis where you pay and as you mentioned a group jumped over the window to go inside the mcdonald's. now, the hoists was all caught on camera, but the big questioni tonight is what is mcdonald's doing to make sure their employees are safe? we'ree're asking and we'll still wait fort a response from mcdonald's. i can tell you it appears that not much has changed since all of this happened early saturdayl morning. you can see that the later it gets, the less employees that are working. the drive through is still open 24 hours and at least right nowt it appears there is no securityo on site.

from police, recovering addictst people who have lost loved ones is that heroin and prescription drugs effect all kinds of people, rich and poor, city and suburbs. the meeting that was held here at the fairfax county center wrapped up just a little whilele ago. just a few folks left here now. what we learned tonight is thati fairfax county leaders arere hearing about heroin overdoses about every day. the county supervisor who callel the meeting said just yesterdaye there was an overdose death and another woman left in veryin critical condition. of course yesterday we gote autopsy results for the centerville high school teenagea who initially was thought toho have overdosed on heroin. the report says alexia springeri actually died from a cocktail of morphine, oxycodone, an anxiety drug and alcohol. she had attended what's called a farm party where kids share prescription drugs and alcohol. the party happened in his own

heels of the indiana primary.ria that's right, ted cruz dropped out of the presidential raisin that means donald trump is now the presumptive gop nominee. marina. >>reporter: a bizarre andand tragic scene here in northeast d.c. as a man high jacked metro bus u6 barreled through this gas station here and then strikes th and kills a pedestrian standingi at this dumpster here. the driver and the passengers oe that bus able to get off safely. teisha.te > what happened at this southeast mcdonald's drivedriv through has mcdonald's and employees on high alert.lert a dangerous trio jump ped through this drive through window and robbed the place at gun point.nt. it was all captured on camera and happened in the we hours of the morning. thankfully the employees are okay but now police are turning to the public for help in capturing the crook. heroin and prescription drugsre are causing a public health crisis.cr it's so-called they called a town haul meeting tonight to ton talk about the problem. and metro is on

again. today the national transportation safety board blasted the transit agency andad release its savings on last year's incident.cide the in poor inspection andnsp maintenance practicesinte contributed to the deadly incident. fox5's tom fitzgerald reports. talking about things likengs maintenance and safety and policy, ntsb members used words you don't normally hear in thesn types of warnings. words like reprehensible and disturbing. for six hours they laid out a long list of metro's actions and inactions in responding to that january 2015 smoke incident at the l'enfant plaza station. they found that the probable cause was a short-circuit, a prolonged electrical short-circuit which was made wa worse by ineffective maintenance andct inspections on the part of metro. this was real life consequences that they were talked about

61 year old carol glover died il that incident. also on that train that day dr. lillian pitch.dr she was one of the passengers on train 302. she told us she had to leave this hearing today because she became so emotional. so am people were affected. i can recall it like it was yesterday. it's something that i would not want anyone to experience and i hope that we all of the victims, all of us can pull through this. and continue on with our lives with our families. > the probable cause of the 2015 incident is one by now is familiar to metro riders. an electric connector like thiss one became corroded from constant water leaks. that prolonged an electrical short filling the l'enfant plaza station with sme.

should know you could soon bee waiting even longer. thanks to a tsa shortage. the agency reduced the number of airport screeners by 10 percenty over the past few years. the change was made while thehe airline industry was booming. 1,000 passengers missed theirssd flights at chicago oh hair in march due to long tsa lines. it's not just at oh hair. airports in ohio also seeing long passenger lines. lin a friend of mine took a picture of the line in new york and he said that tsa precheck line was actually longer than the regular line. here's why precheck might not be the best option. officials laid off about 5,000tsa screeners anticipating 25 million passengers wouldoul register for pre-check. but only nine million peopleine signed up for the program, which means fewer tsa officers and longer lines. what a mess
