reckoned with growing up. she was really smart. she was really star castlly particular, always had anamine and something to say as i got older, we grew really close and she became my best friend and then, one day it all just kind of crumbled away.way. she wasn't remembering things quite well. w she would ask me the samehe question over and over again. not remembering. she would forget that i was at school or at work and call me completely panicked. my sophomore year of college myf mom was officially diagnosed with alzheimers disease. a and before my next yearlz of school, we were unable to solidify caregiver plans for thr next year and so s i ended up moving her with me to college. so i can

to go to school and be her full time caregiver. it was really really challenging but i'm really glad i got that time with her. the year my mom was with me i had my 21st birthday and normally people go out and have a elf rule good time with theire friends, i was home wry my mom.y i couldn't really go out to parties. i spent my time cooking for her. cleaning up the apartment. doing laundry. spend can go time with her trying to play games and just help her use what knowledge and memory she still had as long asg she had it. i mean i did what felt i needed to do for my mom because she she gave up so much for me when i was growing up, that i was moree than happy to give up what i needed to for her when she needed it. it was really hard

because i would get frustrated f with her when she would ask mesk the same question over and overr again. and it took me a real long time to understand -- to get to a a place where i knew i wasn't kne frustratedded and upset withd an her, i was upset with alzheimers. the woman that i care for nowor isn't my mom. she isn't the woman i would stay up all night talking to and ask advice.. and it's heartbreaking. because she looks like her. she looks like my mom and like issued i should be able to tell her everything and she's just js not that. i know its going to get harder. i literally have nightmares nig about the day she looks at me and doesn't know who i am.
