toward the north, very heavy rain, ton of lightning, that you can see, northeast of frederick, nor of elders berg there, all moving southeast ward, so approaching the baltimore metro on the northern side, moving along that 270-07 split. so headed northbound on 270 you'll end count their one up toward frederick county. second severe thunderstorm warning also for hail and for gusty winds, both of these cells have wind potential up to 60 miles an hour. this one's right on top of middle berg flagging hail as well as lightning, you see the bright pink shading indicating core of the storm with the heaviest rain, potential hail. another cell developed, south of front royal, so you can see these are popping up, just every couple of minutes, very, very quickly, so trying to get handle on all of the warnings as it approaches the metro. severe thunderstorm warnings, here ' what we have until 5:30, northern one, carol county, frederick county, howard country, montgomery county maryland, that's for 06-mile per hour wind gusts, and also, as we can see, at least

buoy, no one else was hurt. metro is out with a new warning about it safe track repairs. if you're not red at this could leave you grounds the at reagan national airport. two weeks every metro rail shutdowns set to slam airport passengers no service potentially causing big problems, not only for the locals here but tens of thousands of people who fly into reagan every day. >> and there are still big questions about the smoke incident we saw at gallery place last night, even metro doesn't have all of the answers. tracking both those stories tonight, liver at reagan national with more, hey, fits? >> reporter: hey, jim, we've got a lot to cover so let's get to it. this next section of safe track surges three and four, this is going to basically cut off service in a big way to nearly 800,000 passengers here at reagan national airport, for the better part of two weeks. this is going to be a massive disruption. but while metro can talk to a lot of people in this area, there are big conces

this reaching those flying into our area, and what is going to be one of the busiest travel seasons of the year. let's get to t now, this is all going to start on july 5th. that is when the metro rail is going to shut down all rail service, from reagan national to braddock road. there will be shuttle buses, both by metro and alex andrea and fairfax and arlington counties. they say this is going to get you around those closed stations. now, that's the first week. two weeks from today, on july 12th, everything shifts northbound there. will be no metro rail from reagan national up to pentagon city. that will also means that the crystal city station, that's going to be shutdown completely. now the big problem here, metro's been reaching out to folks who live around our area, and so far that's worked. what about the passenger who don't live anywhere near here, and have no

track is even going on? airport officials say they are working to lessen that impact. >> we're working very closely with our airline partners, asking the pilots and flight crews to make announcements, as the aircraft comes in foray prepare to reagan national. we're also adding a lot of sign and throughout the terminal. >> so, let's talk about gallery place. last night, an electrical arcing incident caused that station to briefly be shutdown. now, what happened? well, metro is telling us they are blaming this on a bolt that became electrified, and had to be put out by a metro worker with a fire extinguisher. now, metro still does not know exactly why this happened. how that bolt became so electrified, and it is not on the side where the now infamous, are located, now, sending out to lab for analysis. this incident

from a department standpoint, it was a nice feeling to be able to do this. in our 57 year history, we've had some ups and downs, and, you know, every time we had a down, there has been somebody else that has stepped in and helped us. so to be able to return the favor to somebody else, you know, made us feel really good. why we like to replace ambulances every eight years, you can see that it is a very nice ambulance, it was well built originally, and i think it will serve them for a number of years to come. >> what would happen to the ambulance otherwise? >> we would have held it and then sold it as surplus and certainly it had value to us, we just saw that the greater value was at this time donating it to west virginia. >> this ambulance was just recently retired t only has about 100,000 miles on it. the chief hearsays that they can get it out to west virginia, they can stock it, put their own radios inside, and they'll be ready to go
