the third incident the report states a 5-year-old girl at landingly park elementary school was left unattended 75 minutes after visiting the nurse and walked home alone. the report says they're noti done in time. in the press conference, prince george's county said their goal is to provide uninterrupted access to the head start program to families and county. they say it will start as planned monday, august 29th. however, no word yet where their funding will come from and guys we also spoke to a parent of a four-year-old at landingly mccore mic elementary school. she asked us to blur her face, she says she's not surprised federal funding was pulled. her son experienced a similar instance of to he teachers humiliating him as a form of disciplining him. >> my son, they didn't give him permission to go to the bathroom. he had a problem

romantically involved and owned contract to amtrakly 500 police officers. an affidavit filed in federal court claims hanson failed to disclose her true relationship with kerry thompson and violated amtrak's ethical policies, the inspector general wants to see all of hasn't son's financial records. instead of turning them over, she went to court. >> the allegations against poly hasn't son who has been cheap of the amtrak police department since december of 2012 are laid out in detail in documents and affidavits filed in a federal petition against the inspector general. according to the documents in the case, investigators want to see the chief's banking record. dating back to 2006. in hopes of learning more about her relationship with kerry thomas, a man who won a million dollar contract as senior are director of abc consulting in arlington. investigators have documents chief hasn s

thomas as her boyfriend and the two own a condominium together in this building in dewey beach delaware. they say chief hanson was directly involved in the process of awarding the contract to train her officers but did in the directly suggest thomas's firm as a possible bidder. in april of 2014, after others approved awarding it to thomas's firm, hanson sent an e-mail to amtrak's chief financial officer saying, quote, i just learned i know the bidder that abc consulting. the affidavit also says, hanson told investigators she later alerted officials at amtrak that she had, quote, a close personal relationship with thomas, but as investigators allege in the affidavit, she did not disclose she had known thomas ten years. and was in a personal and financial relationship with him. now investigators want to see all of hanson's financial records. in order to determine whether there was fraud involved. a subpoena

chief hanson went to court claiming four accounts are held jointly with her adult son and not relevant to the investigation. a claim countered by investigators who want to know the extent of the relationship personal and financial with kerry thomas. >> we learned this afternoon the judge in the case has denied the chief's petition and ruled the investigators can access all of her bank accounts. we reached out to the chief, amtrak and the inspector general and in turn, we received this statement from the chief's attorney. the it reads in full. miss hanson understands the oig responsibility to investigate anonymous complaints. she's aware of the allegations. it's cooperating fully with the oig, and is anxious to see the examination concluded. paul wagner fox 5 local news. we're following a developing story as the

missing swimmer in the potomac river. alexandra limon rode along with one of the search boats and gave us a closer look at what crews were up against. >> reporter: we wanted to give you a different perspective of why the potomac river is so dangerous we head the out with the montgomery county swift rescue rescue team. explain to me, as we go up and down the river what it is that you're doing and looking for? . >> reporter: so when we get a 911 call for somebody that the in danger on the river, a lot of time somebody who has illegally started to swim in the river. jumped into the get cooled off, and they find themselves in a current that they can't out swim and they become caught in it and then, you know, sometimes they're ok and sometimes they perish. >> reporter: another thing that i was talking to you about be

student was eating dinner with his family at a restaurant near palm beach, all of a sudden, austin stormed off. his family said they thought he was annoyed by the service, something else was going on. 45 minutes later, a scene right out of a horror movie, 59-year-old john stevens and 53-year-old wife michelle sitting in the garage, he shows up and allegedly stabbed both to death and stabbed the neighbor who tried to save them. more disturbing, police say he was biting one of the victim's faces and they had to pull the teenager off of one of the victims. >> he was exhibiting abnormal levels of strength. inexplicably as it sound looks like a completely unprovoked and random attack on two people sitting in their open garage. >> reporter: horrible stuff.

her family are homeless after an accidental fire. it happened saturday afternoon, the same son, 17-year-old michael was home alone cooking when a fire broke out. the fire completed gutted the family kitchen and they won't have renter's insurance, family set up a gofundme page, they've raised more than $31,000. the police department is under fire for its cell phone tracking technology. civil rights filed a federal complaints against the department. they say the tracking device uses a racially discriminatory method and interferes with emergency calls. the tracking sting ray device looks like a cell tower and used to locate suspects and their cell phones. civil rights groups argue many of them are unfairly placed in african-american neighborhoods. to milwaukee where a police officer has been arcticed by online threats following the shooting death of seville smith. they have not released the name

week, wait till you see these temperatures low 60's, highs in the 80's. slat and radar showing several lines of showers and thunderstorms moving from the ohio valley through west virginia and pressing into the shenandoah mountains just about couple hours west of washington area. that's where you would find any rain or thunderstorms right now. nothing severe with this, despite the fact that virginia, west virginia is under a severe thunderstorm. what. we're not seeing enough instability for anything severe yet. locally we've got one cell up by hagerstown. most activity towards the west. you can't see anything across dc and baltimore metropolitan areas, there's been a little bit of lightening over bonesboro, this is up by 70 towards hagerstown, almost out of our region. northern maryland this is the area we would see the cell moving due east, places like theirmont, johnsville and into middleberg as it moves from west to east, basically along the i 70 corridor.

flash flood watch watch is out for all of the dc, anne arundel county, baltimore county, central pourings of virginia, these storms bring steady downpours. of severe thunderstorm watch until 8:00 p.m. we're still concerned with the front in place that if we get enough energy as the showers and storms move in with the heat to produce severe weather, and futurecast says 8:00 p.m., the air mass cuts into the heat and humidity boiling all day. you can generate some of these strong storms. while heavy rain is our primary concern, is absolutely pouring over washington as well as along the chesapeake over into the eastern shore. s annapolis over towards easton, but damaging winds are a concern. main issues would be heavy rain and also we could see some of those wind gusts exceed 40 to 50 miles an hour. how much rain? we don't need it this quickly. even though these are quick moving. they could lay down a quick half to an inch of rainfall in some spots. speaking of rainfall, you heard sue mention
