that's what some are aski after hepatitis a is linked to smoothie shops in virginia. good evening, everyone, thanks so much for yoypinging us i'm matt ackland and lauren is off. we begin 10:00 in montgomery county tonight. take a look at this from earlier today. police say a drunk driver plowed into a maryland state trooper car as that trooper was conducting a traffic stop. this was on i 270 montrose road and a driver failing to move over for emergency responders. and "fox5" lindsay watts is live with more on this problem and a closer look at the damage. lindsay. >> matt, luckily the trooper was not inside the car at the time of the crash and he was out with the driver who he had initially pulled over. you can see this damage where the alleged drunk driver slammed into the side of this car and took out the back tire and this is not the only squad car on the lotam

finished until tomorrow mornin meantime, several dozen homes and apartments in that area, well, they are without service tonight and the 3600 block of minnesota avenue is closed. workers fixed that broken pipe. >> and down to the district where police are investigating at least two shootings that happened over the past 24 hour hours. and someone fired shots on 34th street northeast around 11:30 last night. two men were hit by the gunfire and later died. police say the victims are 4 40-year-old rashard blue and 2 27-year-old trayvon johnson, both men lived in northeast. no one is in custody tonight. police are still trying to determine a motive for the killings. >> and meanwhile, around noon today a man fired shots during a robbery on s street southeas southeast. police tell us two people were robbed and one victim was shot in the leg. the victim is expected to make a full recovery and we're told the robber got away with a wallet and a phone and police

"fox5" jennifer davis went to silver spring to show us ow the children and their families are coping. >> two weeks after the deadly blast here in silver spring 55 families, 120 people in all are working hard to get lives back on track. and there really is a special focus on the 19 young children that used to call the flower branch apartments home and are now displaced and still have to start elementary school monday. today we spoke with two elementary school principals who say they're committed to helping the children adjust back to a daily routine after the tragedy here. now, these 19 children are between the grades of prek and fifth grade and they're in various situations now and temporary or new housing after their families lost everything in the blast here and 19 children attend two nearby elementary schools that held on houses today and staff has been visiting with the children and donations are handed out and the principals at

them. it will get cooler but the heat is stick around for the next day or so. clouds for early sunday and sunshine an a hot day. i cannot rule out maybe even in a little patchy fog. so we're still talking humidity as we get into tomorrow. but then we're going to see it start to increase once we get to monday. not oppressive tomorrow. but more than today. continue into next week you'll see that in the 7 day forecast and maybe late-week relief in terms of temperatures and maybe storms as well popping up. so, no storms could bring you cooler air. today's highs in the low 90s all three airport and above the seasonal average which would be into the upper 0s and right now 82 in the nation's capitol and 74 baltimore and we have 79 dulles and 70 as far as culpeper goes and 76 martin martinsburg and hagerstown a warm 80. let's take a look at dew point points. because i'm talking about the humidity not being quite as much as

little bit of a break. just a live lived break that's all we got and dew points values into the 60s and 70s on here. it's actually feeling like pretty close to what the air temperature s satellite radar showing you not much happening here and we have a ridge of high pressure helping us out that continues to build in and activity way west and we'll see a little bit of that start to develop once we get to monday or so and doesn't look like much of that will reach to our area. can't rule out a popup shower or storm tomorrow as well as monday. hot conditions, yes, the 0 is what we're talking about when we get to the next few days. ridge of high pressure in control. that will find its way out and when it does, it will on the door up on monday, especially, to start to let all that humidity back in again. we will see some tomorrow. but, later probably by tomorrow night, late day we'll start to feel it more. by tomorrow night we'll see humidity returning. so, as i said yesterday it was
