brown was arrested and bookedooe after an alleged indent with aih gun and a very bizarre standoff with police at his la home. victoria is the latest at hisat home in california. what is the latestho that you're hearing there. >>reporter: tony and shawn, police are still here outside of chris brown's home, but thehe singer is not. he has been arrested and booked on suspension of assault with a deadly weapon. this after a woman named bailee current who identified herself to the tmd life and on her own social media account said brown pulled a gun on her last nighta while she was attending a late night party at his home.hom cure and said that ' was insidet his home admiring a piece ofece jewelry that brown's jeweler brought and when she went to touch it brown's associatesss yelled at her and then brown himself got involved and that's when he pulled a gun on her. cure and said that

immediately fled the home and called 911. police confirming that they did get a hysterical call from a woman. police went up to the home to talk to brown, but he refused to come out. and after 10 hours, the singerie finally did exit the home when his lawyer got involved and then a short time later he was taken into custody. tony and shawn. this went on for 10 house. we know it started about 3 a. any idea why chris brown wasown refusing to come out or let police come in? >> well, chris brown did haul himself in his home for ten hours and the entire time he was posting on his own instagram account sort of taunting policee saying get a search warrant if you want to come into my house. get a search warrant. you're not going to find anything. police did get that search warrant and again with the helpp of his lawyer were able to enter the home. police have been searching the home.

actually ran a website that advocated for violence in the th name of radical islam. now, back then this man used to go by the name of jonas abdullah muhammad, but here at gu starting this week he'll be'll known as jessie morton. muhammad was actually sentenced to 11 years behind bars andbars served just under four years of that sentence after calling forl the down fall of the united states. he was release in early 2015 and now, 2016 he's on gw's payroll working for the program onn streamism where they're hopingng to understand and?e develop ways to prevent others from being radicalized by islamic extremists. like this man says he once was. students here tonight they'rehe justre starting to hear the new and the reactionto is mixed. i mean, there's a risk alwaysk with hiring somebody new.. it's never -- i mean i guess he has a past, but i'm surei'm everybody else has a past, too.

need just in case of an emergency? a maintenance contractor accidentally flippedn the wrong switch and caused the outage. the calls should have been rerouted to a backup center, the outage also impacted communication for the police and fire departments so we asked d.c. mayor muriel bowser what is in place now to prevent thisre from happening again.g we're very obviously concerned c about any systems that aren't working. we have identified the rootntif cause of this outage and we are investigating the root cause oft the equipment failure. so i've ordered our teams to do a top to bottom review of the technology problems and we're actually going to have our chief technology officer lead that effort. > the district is now workingo to test a new fail/safe program. in the meantime d.c. will have two 911 call centers. developing tonight, police arepo investigating a threatening e-mail sent to someone atth

this comes just one day after a similar e-mail was sent toto dozens of people at virginia tech. campus police say the message included a threat to campus safety, but they did notnot indicate what type of threat.the officials say the person whoe received the e-mail at williamwl and mary also has ties to virginia tech. the source of the e-mail is still under investigation. new tonight more fallout fromom the obama administration's tracd down on formi profit colleges. itt technical institute says itt will stop enrolling new students. however, students currentlien rolled can continue their education. this came after the department of education barred the companye from admitting people usingpeop government loans.ans. the feds also are requiring itt to increase its cash reserves. itt operates in 39 states andnd has several campuses in maryland and virginia. > new tonight, some good news if you need to pay

finding a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in northeast. police say 24 year old tony gates was shot multiple times last night.. it happened on the 1,000 blockck of rhode island avenue. gates was taken to the hospital where he later died. there is currently a $25,000000 reward for any information thatm leads to an arrest. if you know anything about this shooting you're asked to call police. d.c. police also need your helpp identifying a man wanted in connection with a sexual abuse and assault case. this is video of the man police want to talk to.. they're calling him a person of interest.int the incidence happened back on august 11 along 129 and 13th streets northwest. if you recognize the man call police. it is like a scene out of a scary movie except this is very real.al. someone dressed as a clown i hiding in the woods trying to lure children into dangerous situations. it's lapping right now in south carolina, but this sort of creepy goes beyond state l

welcome back. you may recall that back in june, d.c. school chancellor announced she will be leaving her post this fall.sh the search p for her replacemenc is now underway. tonight the search was underway to get residents from parents ot the qualities they would like to see inies the next chancellor. elizabeth davis is president of the washington teacher's union. she attended the meeting andand says getting the community involved is an important firstrt step. this is helpful. it gives the community, the stakeholders on education, the feeling that they are going to have to say and who will get to lead the school district in the coming years. a second meeting l will b
