relevant staff on administrative leave pending investigation and suspended involved students. we're committed to insuring that our athletic programs are safe for all students. now, anyone that i've talked to here has been outwardly surprised even at the question this did happen a few weeks ago. and a few weeks before school started. but laura, we are going to continue to investigate the story and hopefully learn more later. >> thank you. prince george's county school system remains under fire over problems that occurred with the headstart program. parents demanding change and accountability from the board. >> they want the ceo chair and vice chair gone. alexandra limon took those concerns to the prince george's county executive and joins us live with more. alex, what mess. >> it certainly is. and the reason why we wanted to talk to the prince george's county executive baker is because he appointed the

the chair and the vice chair of the school board of excavation. we wanted a to see if he has a response for these parents and community members who are now demanding they step down. all four of these people declined our request for interviews on camera. >> they're unaccountable. they're jobs are safe even when they do empty embarrass mr. baker >> questions continues to shrill about who was aware of the alleged abuse of preschoolers as young as three years old in the headstart program in prince george's county public schools and whether there was a cover-up that may still be going on. >> to have the administration investigate itself makes knows sense. the individual that is caused the issue, the individuals that did not properly communicate this to the

attempting to investigate themselves >> edward borrowing was one of of the school board members that sent a letter last month asking to demand a resignation of the chair, vice chair and ceo of the board of education. all people ache pointed. at last night be board meeting, parents and community members demanded the same thing. >> you all are shameful because you're hurting my children and you all, ceo county executive chair and vice chair need to go. >> i don't doubt that you care about these kids but it has been followed up with action. >> the time has come. prince george's county residents, we will take back our school system. >> we took those demands to the county executive mr. baker but we're told he was not in his office. >> he has

follow. he had a schedule prior to last night. >> reporter: last month, county executive baker said he supporters the board chair, vice chair carolyn boston and ceo dr. maxwell, all people he appointed. >> there are a lot of of concerns about the relationship with the board chair, as many people know, it's his former brother-in-law. whenever you have your relatives and appoint them to offices, it becomes difficult to hold those individuals accountable. >> reporter: we did receive two written statements in response to a request for comment, the first was from the board chair, mr. eubanks saying quote, mr. baker and i have been friends and colleagues many years and maintained our relationship even after his sister and i parted way as. we have work together on

educational issues over two decades fighting to provide quality education for all children. with over 30 years experience and relationship leadership, my doctorate degree and my commitment as a pgcps parent to public education, i bring a strong educational background to the board. the second statement we got was from the county executive rashern baker, he said i'm gladys to see that the that the prince george's county board of education will have a full debriefing harding the headstart matter. we cannot move forward collectively if we don't thoroughly investigate what happened in this case. and hold those responsible accountable. so this time around, mr. baker is not strongly coming out to say he supporters the ceo, chair and the vice chair. he has done in past. some other local leaders

kitchen on u street. the officer was on some kind of break. he came here to have a meal. that apparently is when two women approached him and one of them started eating his fries. he wrote they appeared to be on alcohol or drugs. she said you might as well take me to jail. she allegedly took another fry, then he called a female police officer. that's when the woman was arrested. we asked people what they thought about all of this. take a listen. >> i don't know if he needs to arrest her. that was definitely very on her part. i don't know if she was probably hitting on him. but i think if anyone came up and took my fries, i'd be pretty upset too. >>

report reporting iphone, ronica cleary. bob mcdonnell's legal team after a major victory >> federal prosecutors announced they will not retry him on corruption charges. mcdonnell and his wife were convicted in 2014 for accepting more than $170,000 in gifts, loans and and trips, but the put supreme court overturned the conviction last june, earlier today i spoke with mcdonnell's lawyer, he told me mcdonnell is relieved this case is over but says he paid a high price. >> he lost his political career. his family was in turmoil for three and a half years. all of his children were called into the grand jury. most of them testified as witnesses at the trial. his wife was put on trial. placed tremendous strain on their relationship. couldn't plan

at this 911 ceremony in wood bridge. where more than a few told us they cannot believe it's been 15 years. >> just so shocked that when i say that number, it doesn't seem like it's 15 years. really, all i have to do is look at my kids and a photo of when everything first happened and they were seven and nine, and now they're 22 and 24. you can tell there have been a lot of years. >> her emotions remain raw. >> wednesday morning, i woke up with just a brick in my stomach, the feeling of the anticipation of what this was like. even no matter how much time goes by, you're just sent right back to when everything first happened. >> lori's husband was 40 years old, a civilian working at the army had the pentagon when he was killed that terrible tuesday morning. >> he's always part of us. our nation is changed but even more so, our family has changed. we just miss him

watch it. speaking about hot weather. look at this, two airports breaking records today, unbelievable; and you know what? the heat is definitely on if you take a look at where we stand right now, you'll see what we're talking about. temperatures into the 90's pretty much everywhere, 95 at dulles, 92, dc, 94 at baltimore, 93 at cumberland. let's take a look at those due points and the heat indices because our due points into the 60's and 70's is what it feels like when you step outside. a very hot 100 crease at quantico, 102 at fredericksberg, culpeper 101, frederick 103 and 99 in the capitol. this is an indication of where we're going to be headed for this weekend. just get ready for it. it's going to be hot, sticky and humid. we're 12 days away from the beginning of fall. as we see we're going to have all the heat and humidity me in place but this a frontal system that will movie through saturday. we're going to see an influx of drier, cooler air
