? ?. feeling a little pumped up. amped up for tonight. >> we're going to >> the final countdown is on because tonight donald trump and hillary clinton face off in the third and final presidential debate. >> a lot of people have been waiting for this day to come. the last one was absolutely nasty. but nonetheless we're going to go to do it again. we also want to see the tweets. we know you have a lot on your mind. use the #at6:30.
6:31 pm
hillary clinton, donald trump, got a set debate one last time in las vegas >> all bets are off. there's new poll numbers saying which way the race maying leaning. you got to hear about this. there really are interesting guests on this list here. >> you tweeted about someone we didn't know >> we heard hillary clinton is bringing mark cuban, we know, i didn't want to say arch enemy but quite a bit far as celebrity billionaire, also meg whitman is now the ceo of h p. she's endorsed hillary clinton. donald trump is bringing barack obama half brother malik >> it's a little bizarre, he has nothing to do with the election. he's not even an american citizen. >> he's going to be there, he splits his time between here and kenya. he's also -- has invited and she
6:32 pm
mother of one of the men killed in the benghazi attacks >> we heard tweeted out a short time ago that reporter, who years ago accused bill clinton of groping her is supposed to show up there. and then we're hearing other weird news about a press conference. do you remember the last time the press conference with the bill clinton accusers? there's going to be the press conference of another >> this is man name danny who says bill clinton is his father. i'm sorry, i keep looking at my phone. i wanted to point out >> i know >> i was trying to pull up the name. unfortunately i don't have it >> we'll get to it. we got a long show here. we're going to get to chris who is the president of vote america now. thanks so much for joining us. >> thank you for having me. >> how are you guys doing.
6:33 pm
minorities, locally nationally and state levels. all focused on the debate. let me ask you, what are you expecting or what do you need to hear from both candidates, you know, to seal the deal? >> funny you say that we're hosting a pretty large debate part this evening, i've been going straight there from here. we're looking to, from both candidates answers for, of course, millenials and minorities, there's numerous issues, criminal justice is big issue, jobs, education, we want them - community wants them to talk about issues important to them and they want to actually hear substantive answers on policy, not going back and forth arguing. >> so again, if tear trying to appeal to this millenial vote which we keep hearing, this is a crucial constituency. why are the candidates spending so much time on this back and forth mud slinging bringing up skeletons in the closet, old business deals?
6:34 pm
it's politics, so it works. for i guess you can say entertainment purposes unfortunately. at the end of the day, people want to hear things that are substantive. people do not want to have a 90-minute debate going back and forth continuously, essentially go throwing mud at each other. that's not what people want to hear. and of course, it makes headlines the very next day, and they talk about how they don't like each other. the only thing people want to vice-versa and hillary clinton on her side. they want hear actual issues and they have to talk about that tonight. they have to discuss trump has to discuss more of his plans substantive on foreign policies and taxes, hillary clinton has to discuss domestic issues. this is the last presidential debate and i can tell you millenials through our different engagements in town halls, millenials want to hear about things that affect them. right now, people have major
6:35 pm
america, there's a major divide on criminal justice issue, not just community relations between police, but just overall as a whole in criminal justice and these are issues that affect us on a daily basis. >> i understand your millenial group is going to be having a party tonight but we are too, if you guys want to come back and join ours, we will certainly let you in. >> appreciate it. sounds like a lot of fun. >> it is end deed. thank you for coming from the emphasize on certain words, people will be listening intently to the candidates tonight >> dr. deborah tan nan, she studied how politicians use language in some cases mangled the language. we've seen so many examples. what are you going to be looking for tonight? >> the words that each of the candidates use in talking about and to the other, i was struck
6:36 pm
trading insults as if it's the same both sides, it has not been the same on both sides at all. for example, yes, it's true, hillary clinton has said that donald trump is unfit to governor but that's cite different from calling her a devil, which we heard at the last debate. and it's true that she has -- they have both accused the other of telling un now, we do have the independent fact checking websites that says, up until this point, hillary clinton has actually been the most truthful of all the candidates, not just between these two. but all the candidates in this cycle. and that donald trump has been the least truthful, but putting that aside, he was hurling the word lie at her over and over. i lost count of how many times. whereas the word she used was
6:37 pm
not true. that it was absolutely false. i think people really react to that. the tone. >> let me ask you, donald trump uses certain catch phrases all the time. i believe he says believe me or, you know, i can tell you. what do you get from that? are those just easy places he likes to go back to? what's your take away >> it's characteristic of him. it's conversational and this is something that's been happening, i think increasingly in recent year ronald reagan was a great communicator but not a great or rater. he was if at sounding conversational. that's what donald trump does, he sounds like he's shooting the breeze, telling it like it is. and that can be effective and people maybe pick that up as part of the reason they feel he's quote trustworthy even though evidence is to the opposite. and it's another quite
6:38 pm
prepared rather than that seeming like something positive that is often seen as they use words like she's scripted. and so you probably will pick that up. she -- i think very interesting things for people to ask themselves as they're watching the debate. just periodically check with yourself, how would i react if somebody of the other sex was saying, talking in the way this person is talking? because we do react differently when women as talk in the same way. i think part of the reason that people react that way when hillary clinton was prepared and presidential is that we are not that used to hearing women in that role. >> dr., we appreciate you joining us, obviously a lot to watch for, we appreciate the insight >> thank you. . where are you guys watching the final debate.
6:39 pm
tom fitzgerald is live, they're doing a debate watch apparent. they're going to have free popcorn, you started your share? >> don't talk with a mouthful. >> i'm with kevin mccarthy tonight. most of the stories don't just give you food. they're giving us food here. this is the regal gallery place, in the heart of chinatown next door to the verizon center. here's why we're here. what they're doing tonight they're actually turning one of their theaters into a debate viewing location. so everybody is going to be able to come in sit down and enjoy some of the debate. . they're finding out these movie theaters that is a communional thing, communal thing, having them come in, experience your
6:40 pm
talk about it. do you want to know what we found out about watching a debate in a movie theater? >> what >> there's couple of rules. first, you want to make sure you tie your opponent up into a pretzel. you want to make sure you land a punch, but at the same time, you don't want to do anything that's going to wind up as a dud, because that's just going to latest snickers. >> by the way, that's $60 on the fox 5 account. >> let's ask the folks. got a captive audience here. i know all of you have been wondering what the heck we're doing over here. the question is simple. for the debate tonight, is it better to watch these by yourself or is it better to watch them with your family and
6:41 pm
family and friends? >> probably by yourself. >> safe man. i like that. >> reporter: what do you think is it better to watch a debate by yourself or -- there's drama going on. by yourself or >> reading the newspaper the following day and forming my on opinion. >> i like the way you think. last country down from the end. real quick. is it better to watch a political debate by yourself surrounded or surrounded. >> surrounded. >> the guy up there is going to read about it in the paper tomorrow. he doesn't know what he's missing. >> hey, fitz? >> all the people will get to watch the movie.
6:42 pm
show. ? i think we lost your mic, fitz. >> over to ronica cleary who's at teddy and the bull. >> reporter: thank you, fitz. i like to watch these by myself, i take copious notes but i watch them with twitter by my side. the first thing i want to share with you. earlier i actually spoke with lily adams, a senior spokes woman for the clinton campaign. i asked her our region potentially expect to hear from hillary clinton that would be something that would connect to them directly? and really be a local issue that matters to them? take a listen to what adams had to say. >> there is almost no state as you know that is more tied to the military than virginia. she has laid out a plan to take
6:43 pm
leadership. whereas donald trump we found is too are aed dick. one that has not gotten a lot of attention she has laid out a lot since dwight eisenhower. i know those northern virginia roads can get clogged. that will speak to folks in the area. >> reporter: we definitely know know how those roads can get clogged. especi metro. we're going to chat with some of the people at tonight's debate party. what's your name? >> laura >> and yours >> rod. >> reporter: what you are looking for that maybe is a local issue that matters to you in tonight's debate. >> i think i'm looking for a little more substance on the healthcare issues. i feel like in the second debate. they talked a lot about the healthcare issues. but there weren't as many details and i think trump especially was staying away from some of the facts
6:44 pm
really one specific issue. i don't know >> do you feel like you heard it all? >> what can you get in the third debate? these people have been out so much. right? >> i'm not expecting anything new or if it is new, i'm expecting it to be more entertainment than informative. >> reporter: people definitely watch for the fireworks. we have them in the second debate. let's, these ladies back here. you said you'd help me out and chat. what are you looking for in the second debate? you have a hillary shirt on? i did not see that. tell me so i know that i guess you're team hillary. what are you looking for tonight that would maybe make you more excited about voting for hillary. >> i don't know that i could be a lot more excited at this point. i'm very excited to vote for the first female president. i mean i'm just interested tonight to hear how trump sort of rebut some of these sexual
6:45 pm
about that. >> reporter: i think i know the answer. one word, who do you think is going to win >> hillary, obviously. >> we got hillary supporters over here. we're having a lot of fun in northwest, and as you probably saw, they have the channel set to the right channel >> they're smart people. >> sending it back to you >> absolutely they do. thank you, ronica. and some of the folks made a good point. i'm watching tonight, i don't think i'm going to see anything new, i'm watching for the entertainment. >> it's a circus at this point? have jerry springer moderate the whole thing. >> i think the moderator will win, chris wallace >> sue palka is back. she's over in front of the big wall with a look at those big temperatures today. >> one more hot day, and you can eat outside if you would like to. it will probably be hard to get a table. i want to say we got up to 87. we're forecasting 82 degrees, maybe not quite as much sunshine, a mix of cloud and sun, still very warm for this
