the cloverly elementary school here in montgomery county and on a day like this on a day like halloween this is a day you probably have seen which say lot of kids parade around the school and often to their classrooms today for parties. that did not happen. why did it not happen? the principal here last week told parent there was going to be no halloween celebrations here because some parents did not want their kids participating in that so they were canceling instead, they all wound up out here. the parents threw together at the last minute their own halloween party but still, this stings with the kids a little bit. there was essentially more trick than treat. >> i thought it was unfair because this is my fifth year at clover leaf and we always had the halloween party. >> it grivrz you a break to stop and like have fun dress up

>> it's my first year and i wanted to celebrate something and do something fun. >> it's an important holiday i love the holiday. soy think the school should celebrate it a little bit, too. >> so what happened? the clover leaf elementary school principal dr. brunson cancelled celebration and parties and parade. it's a situation that angered many parents at the school that don't agree the celebration should have been cancelled want their kids to participate in halloween festivities. these parents took matters into their own hands here. if their kid could not bring halloween into the school, they were going to bring their kids to halloween. dozens of parents signed their kids out of school early and they brought them next door here to clover leaf park and those kids were greeted with a halloween party all put on by parents and all whipped out in just about under 48 hours. yes, class work is important.

enticed by this over the top display. it's very out of character with the way this neighborhood conduct it itself. and it is trying to entice people in and it actually goes to the door and from what i understand i have not been in, there but into the building. there are no children who live in this building. so, any child who does come in for trick or treating has been enticed by this decoration and may not see the sign on that door, which was put up by landlord which says, please do not trick or treat because we have all been complaining. >> now, neighbors say that because of this man's background and his behavior which they say they witnessed and believe to be questionable, they contacted arlington county police. and arlington county police have been out here and arlington county police say this man is not breaking the law. live tonight in arlington.
