6:30 pm
? ? believe it or not, six days and counting. can you believe it? >> yes. counting up to it every single day >> i'm ready donald trump has a message for anyone feeling a little buyer's resource after casting an early ballot. hillary clinton also has a message too >> this is a good time to make an important public service announcement. you can change your vote to donald trump will make america great again. >> calls women ugly. disgusting, nasty, all the time.
6:31 pm
>> that's what people are talking about tonight at 6:30, we like the tweets. use the #5at630 let's get to it. talking about this, daniel strauss from politicalo. thanks for calling in. first off let me ask you. we heard donald trump say you can go back and change your vote. wh >> i don't know what he is talking about. guess he's trying to say that nothing is set in stone and if you're inclined to vote early or voice your support about that. there's still time to change your mind. you can still say, oh, i was going to vote for hillary clinton but instead i'm going to vote for donald trump. i don't know if any mechanism where you can vote then go back and change it. >> i believe my understanding is if you do absentee ballot, you can say, you can show up to the
6:32 pm
policy -- pennsylvania does it. i voted absenteeism when i worked there. hey, daniel, talking about donald trump and how he's treated women, seems like we're going back to that story line at this point. >> yeah, i mean, look, this is how the clinton campaign would like to shape the last few days of the race. they would like to remind as many voters as they can all about all of trump more insun deairry comments about women, the acts of video where he made vul gar statements, that's the argument the clinton campaign wants to close out on in contrasting their message with trump >> the other message is the polls are tightening but depends on which poll you're look at, but as you look at the polls and you see what's going on, is
6:33 pm
donald trump? >> i mean, you know, the last few days have been kind of a boom for donald trump at the same time. we've seen with james comey sort of reinvigorating the fbi investigation to clinton's e-mail use that there is -- there is more of a window. that is a concern for the clinton campaign. you can see them sort of scrambling in criticizing james comey, the fbi director about that. and that's affect the race. if you look at major swing states, it certainly more comfortable for secretary clinton >> we're all looking at different polls. you have a senate race, you have pat toomey going against kathleen mcginty. she's up six to 12 points, but the down ballot races seem to be widening, the presidential race
6:34 pm
pennsylvania michigan, florida, ohio >> >> yeah, those are all good states to pay attention to. clinton campaign decided to go back there the last few days >> what do you think that says that she's going back? going to go to detroit, in fact. >> i think she wants to make sure that she has strong hold of the african-american vote. detroit is an area that votes heavily democratic. but it's something that the they want to make sure in places where they can have strong turn-out that that will actually happen >> we appreciate it. good luck the next couple days and take couple deep breaths and take some time to yourself if you can because it's been a rough couple of months. so you guys know, were he focused on millenials, women, minority voters this season. what about older voters? are the presidential candidates
6:35 pm
your grandparents into the polls, your aunts and uncles. tom fitzgerald on capitol. i'd love to see what their take is considering everything we've seen. >> reporter: you know, because i just turned 50, i fit right in >> we sent you right to the home. . >> reporter: felt very at home. they were very welcoming. this was bring together seeners and seniors, people that live at spring hills mount vernon adult community center and seniors in high school in northern virginia. the idea was this. we went in thinking they're going to have very different takes on this, very different views of this election. it turns out we were wrong. he they have
6:36 pm
>> reporter: you don't have to run away, why don't hurt you by the way. that is correct the situation is this. take a look at this video. these are the people who we talked to. some were in their 90's, some were teenagers. we all said frankly whoever gets elected like where we are in the way we talk to each other about politics. you just saw an example of it just now. people screaming a the each other, people not talking, not listening to each other. the bottom line is this, whoever gets inaugurated here in january, both these teenagers and senior citizens say they don't like where we are, we have to changes that you and here's a little bit of a conversation and how it went down.
6:37 pm
>> there's been mostly kind of personal back and forth does that have to change too? does it have to be more policy and less personal? >> yes >> they're saying that republicans point out that i agree with and they're things that democrats point out >> they're worrying about today, not what's in the past. >> quite a burden >> a burden? why is it a burden >> with the two candidates going on, >> whatever you do rea anything, they're telling you everything >> i'm afraid we're going to your terny >> >> we can to work onseting a good example >> nowadays a new generation than it was back in the day when i was coming up. >> reporter: right now, there's a podium being built. it's going to be under construction the next two months. somebody is going to stand on
6:38 pm
talk to these young people, they have one common shared concern, and that's if they're concerned about this country. not just what happens on tuesday, not just what happens on january 20th, but long haul, how do we change how we talk to each other? how do we change how we have this political discourse with each other? how do we make ourselves better when we start going back and forth about this campaign, about this election and about our politics. >> very interesting >> two things struck me very pertinent. young and younger woman, saying you guys have to read, you kids have to read get the information on your own and the younger woman who said i agree with the democrats sometimes, the republicans sometimes, that's ok, that's compromise. we're conditioning kids to think that's bad thing in political discourse >> i wish, you know, the folks behind you, tom, on capitol hill
6:39 pm
some of the stuff through congress that's been sitting a long time. i guess that means fitz is gone >> he's making friends out there >> as we move along >> winner take all, the chicago cubs and cleveland indians facing off in the world series. which comes after the cubs easily won game 6 on fox 5. leaving the series, now up to three games a piece. it kind of sounds like the election. has the momentum of the series, ronica, what do the people think? >> hey, shawn, i'll say one thing, people are think about what's good to eat. this guy over here. >> steve. >> reporter: i'm jealous of your nachos, let's talk about the world series, there's been a shift in the momentum in world series. we made to it game seven, do you think there's been a shift in the momentum of this election in favor of donald trump very recently >> not at all.
6:40 pm
announcement, none of that? you think it's still strong for hillary clinton >> donald trump has no chance whatsoever. there's no chance he's going to win. >> reporter: we heard it from steve. let's come back. we're not on the screen yet. there's a little delay. before he comes up to you, what's your name? >> z ak >> joe. >> reporter: do you think there's been a change in momentum in favor for donald trump recently with that f announcement? what do you think >> i don't think so. i think the momentum for hillary has gone strong so far and despite being used it's come out oven both sides. it's going to stay with hillary >> what's your take on that >> i agree with what he just said. the momentum hasn't changed at all. everybody still going to go for hillary all the way. >> reporter: that will be up in about 30 seconds you can get your picture up there. i'll always tell people if they do this, they can see themselves on tv. we got a group of young people
6:41 pm
series tonight ok, we made it to game seven of the world series, momentum shifted throughout the world series, a little unexpectedly made it this far, some are comparing that to maybe a momentum shift in the presidential race, maybe donald trump recently had good news come out with the fbi looking at e-mails that they didn't know about before. do you think there's been a moment tum shift for donald trump >> no, i don't think so. . >> reporter: how about you >> reporter: are we going to get four knows >> i think there's been a momentum shift. you can see the percentages followed the 538 blog. it's very clear something is gaining an edge, but largely based on a false premise of these fbi documents being released. i think it's not clear what the fbi case is all about and what the documents being reopened as. i think there's shift in momentum based on a perception,
6:42 pm
unfortunately in my mind. >> reporter: yes or no? do you want weigh in? >> no. >> reporter: i love he reads 538. it's interesting that you do see these website that is follow that, track the polls, it's fascinating to watch. we'll have to see. sending it back to you >> thank you, interesting to hear people's perspectives >> and ronica getting a jump start on happy hour. that's always a good thing. sue palka, we have a late night here last we're going to have a late night with the world series, i'll tell you what? today, gorgeous out there. you too. >> wasn't it? we got more record warmth tomorrow. by the way speaking of the world series, cleveland site record at 78. first pitch temperature will be about 69 or 70. these are the temperatures we are expecting tomorrow guys. we are heading to near 80 degrees. if not upper 70's, get ready for a warm one. also pack your umbrella because tomorrow afternoon, there could be a couple of showers, maybe a
6:43 pm

6:44 pm
i believe america is already great. yes, we have our challenges. we must give every child a great education, build an economy that works for everyone, end tax breaks for companies that move our jobs overseas. by working together, democrats and republicans, we can do these things. that's why we must defeat those who want to turn americans against one another. i'm chris van hollen, and i approve this message, because united, our best days are still ahead. because united, i'm afraid you're suffering from fobo. fobo? fobo. fobo... fear of better options. cure fobo with black friday savings now. up to 40% off, 24-months special financing, and free delivery.
6:46 pm
policy on #5at630. >> do you want to do do it now? >> no, because we don't have the right music >> what jim would like to do is y m c a, trying to make sure all you parents gets to the polls. it's offering up free child care so parents can vote november 8th. wants to make sure parents and cure givers exercise their right to vote and insure their kids can spend their time in a safe environment. if you need child care, not every location is offering it up but just check >> it's fun to stay at the ymca. >> ymca. you don't want to do it? moving on. . purple rain, purple rain
6:47 pm
the south lawn and told the kids they can disregard mrs. obama's lessons on healthy eating one night >> that for kids and parents magical experience. i took my 11-year-old jack he was walking through the line. he was dressed as larry fitzgerald from the arizona cardinals, the president said i like your costume, man and gave him a fist bump. it was an experience to remember. remember. >> it's the president. doesn't matter who it is, >> had a lot of fun out there. and they got to get candy for free at the white house. this election is making us want to get away. how about taking a wine flight >> we're going to show you that
6:50 pm
. the fbi is continuing to pour over the latest batch of e-mails. hillary clinton announced she's confident it will come to the same conclusion as it did earlier >> one person can relate to think former dc mayor vincent gray joining us at #5at630. you're seeing a lot of similarities >> i wouldn't even say identical. the law enforcement officials have guidelines with elections that is what's happening right now with secretary clinton and it's exactly what happened in my reelection race for mayor back in 2014 when the us attorney interfered with that election >> if you could give hillary clinton advice, what would you tell her >> i would tell her to continue to work. continue to try to get people out to vote. remind them that it's important they vote.
6:51 pm
that was used against me. people were encouraged as a result of a suggestion i was going tobin dieted not to vote. when you look at the turn-out in 2010 when i won and 2014 there were three areas of the district of columbia that were hugely important to me, three of the eight wards. 21,000 fewer voters showed up in 2014 than did in 2010. and that was more than the difference in me winning on the ballot next week, but we're pay attention quite a bit to the top of the ticket. looking at trump versus clinton and it's become a nasty race >> it's horrible. there's so many people who continuously say i'll be glad when this is overwith. people want to hear about the issues. they want to hear about what you're going to do differently in order to be able to run the country, not the nasty comments that have been made about people's personal lives and the other things that have been
6:52 pm
you're going to be running against two little known independents. if you win, any special plans? anything you want to work on that you want to share right now >> we're going to have a summit. we're going to evolve out of this a plan that's never been done at a ward level before in the city. and the idea will be to bring together on december 3rd a couple hundred or pour peanut butter who live in ward 7 and iphone them an opportunity to express what they think the pr that will guide the action that we will take after january 2nd once we start moving >> one thing also on the ballot. the question obviously to move forward, for statehood for the district of columbia to create the state of new columbia. whatever it ends up being. i see the signs but don't hear a whole lot of people talking about it. >> there's a lot of work to be done and a lot of discussing about statehood, i'm a supporter
6:53 pm
columbia. there's a lot of work to be done what's been drafted, there will be time to do that in the aftermath but it's hugely important for peanut butter to express their views we want to be the 51 it's state. the worst thing that can happen is people expressed view know i'm going to vote against this then people assume they don't want to be a state, which is wrong >> so much to talk about, so little time. thanks so much for coming in. vthank you very much

two different flights from the orchard and the make america great again. try the one on your left >> this is from the i am with her >> this is from senior lake, please let me know what you think >> it's a berry wine and this one, the -- why we move on to the winery from senior lake. one thing, more foods, this is >> flagrant. >> very, nice, prediction.
