arling ton county. fairfax county and loudoun county. trump is closer in northern virginia and throughout the state that had been expected when the democrats were hoping to have a much better lead heading in tonight than they do in the state. this is one of the places trump campaign is hitting often. they were in loudoun county early this morning as the schedules were throughout the day and they're making stops from florida to new hampshire. this race, toni stands is not in a position where the democrats wanted it. they felt they would have a long lead up before where they were right now. >> tom, real quick, i know clinton campaign was planning to hold fireworks and everything in new york city and they pulled the plug on that whole thing. you have to wonder ft. tightness of the polls is playing into the fact it may have looked presumetive? >> reporter: well, you know, you don't want to be looking like you're spiking the football before anybody has

searching for for two men wanted for the murder. >> julien jones was between death early saturday outside of a bar and police are calling this an unprovoked attack. it happened early saturday morning in toronto little italy neighborhood. jones was visiting toronto with friend for a bachelor party and canadian media reports he was punched and kicked in the head. at the time of the attack he was separated from his friends and officials say as many as nine people attacked him. it was apparentl died on the way to the hospital. the friend say he was recently engaged and was celebrating a present's bachelor party not his own. he studied law at the university of baltimore and was currently working for amazon. >> support and tribute are pour into facebook tonight. one of his friends toronto posting a heart-warming message to fallen friend saying i love you buddy you'll never be forgotten. police are expected to release surveillance of two of the

sxwrv a murder investigation underway they found a 26-year-old woman with a gun wound newspaperer body in a parking lot along atlas walkway in gainsville. she was taken to the hospital where she later died. detectives do not believe the shooting was random and there's no areceipt f you have information call police. a third student at the university of maryland now reporting being hit by pellets from a bb gun. campus police say a male and female student claimed they were hit by pellets near the kim engineering building and

stadium drive garage and ellicott hall. no one has been hurt and police are investigating. >> to virginia now police are trying to figure out who vandalized more than a dozen vehicles in arlington. it happened yesterday in the 1200 block of south scott street between and 6:0 a.m. take a look at all the damage left behind, too. police say someone smashed windows and rummageed through 0 cars but nothing appears to have been stolen. police do not have a suspect description at this time. heard today for a maryland man accused of attacking and raping women as they walked home from the metro last summer. demetrius pankz is accused of robbing three women and raping and robbing two others during a crime spree that went on 30 days near broad land and for the totten metro station. paul wagner joins us live from d.c. spur orcourt with the story. paul. >> reporter: this is a case that didn't get a lot of attention at the time mainly because the police were not

together until after banks was finally arrested and today, closing arguments were hel in d.c. superior court with prosecutor reminding jr. about the evidence they v they did dna connecting them to raipdz of two women one in july and one august brookland station and one near for the totten and they have evidence linking him to the robberies as well. they have him on surveillance video using the credit cards of these women. however, demetrius claiming he was innocent and the sex was consensual and they have not been able to pick him out as the man that day. it his id is false he says. on september 1 of last year d.c. police released this video of a man said wanted in connection with a robbery and rain that it hain place on august 28 in the 1500 block of . local stations including "fox5" aired the footage and later that night three people called

video was one person identified him by his full name and two others by his nickname michia cording to prosecutors banks is the same man that raped the woman on michigan avenue before hopping on a bike, leaving the area and using her credit cards to make small purchases. dna connects him to the crime they say. a month earlier prosecutors say banks also raped a woman behind a building on rigs road after abducting her as she walked from the for the totten station. there's dna in that case bank's lawyer told the jury today the sex with those womens with impull sufficient ape consent rule and the others they robbed as they walked from the totten station identified the wrong man. this case apparently was important enough to the u.s. attorney's office and the u.s. attorney channing phillips came over and listened to the closing arguments and again this case didn't get much attention at the time and

arguments today and will likely begin deliberations tomorrow. paul wagner, "fox5 local news". >> it has been nearly two months sin the d.c. police officer shot and killed parent sterling. family and friends say there's too many questions and far too few answers into why sterling as was shot and killed in mid september. they're organizing a major protest for this evening and it's going to take place at the site of where sterling killed 3 and m streets northwest. the protest is set to start 7 p.m. and last a few hours. >> today, family and friends said final goodbyes to one of two iowa police officers shot and killed in an ambush style attack last week. funeral services were held this morning for sergeant anthony banino justin martin willing laid to rest tomorrow. scott green is accused of killing both officers and made his first court appearance last friday and held on 10 million
