upon this accident, and they came to mr. caldwell. he was in his car, they said they smelled an odor of alcohol and asked him to do a field sobriety test. let's show you video now of mr. caldwell. this was from a talk back with fox 5 just awhile ago. we did get in touch with mr. caldwell a little while ago and he gave us his side of the story. for now, here's the police side. they say of alcohol from mr. caldwell. asked him to get out. gave him a field sobriety test which they say that he failed. they also say that he refused to take a breathalyzer test. he was then taken into custody and he was charged with dui as well as wreck less driving. let's show you a little bit of traffic that was at the mgm last night and again, this accident that mr. caldwell now describes as just a minor scrape happened

person. she has overcome quite a bit in her life to get to the point where she is, particularly, in a law enforcement organization. she has not been suspended. there has been an allegation of misconduct. the allegation is being going through the disciplinary process. one of the things i will say about this particular person is that she is human, as are my police officers. my police officers are human and they do make mistakes. one of the things i will say about this particular incident, we talk about bias all the time. we talk about bias in policing implicit bias, i have almost 400 sergeants on the metropolitan police department that this one isn't getting the attention it is because of somebody's bias out there because of this particular person. >> what discipline is all about

tonight dc police are investigating a shooting that took place in northeast this morning, it happened just before 10:00. in the 500 block of j street when police arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. he was rushed to the ho no word on the condition. investigators are still looking for the suspect who is a male.

massive fire at an insinner rater plant. it was around 85 feet high and hundreds of yards wide caught on fire on martinsberg roads. dozens firefighters battled the flames more than 12 hours before the fire was contained but they're continue to douse hot spots, the cause of the fire is under investigation police in anne arundel dell county say two people are in custody for shoplifting and attempted escape. this happened last night at the babies are us store in pasadena. investigators say tara reid directed heard dashaun and her niece to steal items in the to store. the driver drove off and hit the officer in the leg. the chase ended a short time later and the two suspects were arrested.

5:00. today was sentencing day for the young man who caused a triple fatal car crash on river road in bethesda earlier this year. traveling at 115 miles per hour. a montgomery county judge has sentenced him to 12 years in prison for he the deaths of three members of the masido family, mickey, alexandria and their 18-year-old son, tommy were killed in the crash february 27th. tommy' survived the collision as the family was headed to an event at the walt whitman high school that saturday night. >> the accident reconstruction people estimate if he had only been going 95 miles an hour. the accident would have never happened. >> this has been a difficult time for everyone. we hoped that the court would
