team is not taking any chances. let's look live from salt dome in north east d.c. where they've been out and about coming back and forth and snowplows are getting ready to deploy to keep the streets safe. sue palka is standing by with the forecast, sue, what's the latest. >> too soon for the scenes right there, sarah, tony. i tell you what the big headline is this one behind me. that is the single digit wind chills that will be living predawn tomorrow and the cold air is not here yet. we're also not seeing any snow showers yet. but it's possible that as that arctic front comes in later tonight we could have scattered snow showers around and our models have been insisting on that for about 24 hours now. not widespread and just a small amount. but we know that is does not take much when the cold air is coming in to create slick spots. cold air is not here yet. winchester 30. dulles 34. gaithersburg 34. that would be cold enough in a few spots. if we see snow showers to stick. one

see very light snow. not coming to the ground yet. cold air is not going to be denied. it's 16 in detroit and 6 in chicago and it's zero in minneapolis. and 8 degrees below zero in fargo. that's the old care that will be here tomorrow morning. what about snow showers. well, radar is showing a few up in north and east of baltimore. those may begin to hit the ground just a little bit. it won't be a lot and won't last long. as i puts this in motion you'll see it develops over the last hour and it's filling in just a little bit. that's what we're watching for tonight. that could happen in other places as well. as we look out to the west, we see a few snow showers starting to develop in west virginia. are those going to be able to develop in a couple showers down to the south. so, it does not take much. that's why everybody is being safe not sorry and as colder air comes on into town. but, tomorrow, winds out of the northwest at 20 gusting to 35 and occasionally 45 miles an hour. and single digit wind chills.

anything we see will be very short lived and gone by tomorrow morning. the sun will be out. but so will be terrible chill. last thing i want to show you tomorrow morning wind chill temperatures single digits north to low and mid teens. by the time we get to noon hour it continues to drop as plenty of places will be experiencing single digit wind chill. you need layers tomorrow. that's for sure. we'll check radar 10:30 tony. >> thank you, sue. >> developing tonight. we're learning about another massive yahoo data breach that dates back to 2013. yahoo says it believes hackers stole data from more than 1 billion users that includes email passwords, hope to numbers and birth dates. the good news is the company says bank account and credit card information was not effective. and this latest breach is different from another one yahoo revealed back in september. that one affected about 500 million accounts. >> and it's a story u

first on "fox5". if you're the victim of a crime in the district, whether you live here, work here or you're just visiting you can count on d.c. police to follow through with an investigation? one woman tells "fox5" she ror aid break in and d.c. police failed to file a report or investigate the crime. "fox5" marina morocco is live in northeast. what happened? >> shawn, it was all caught on tape. the question is what didn't happen? subsequently after that suspect scaled over this woman's fence, in the last hour after we contacted d.c. police, we learned a detective sergeant finally called the victim. >> the detective would come later. i said okay, i'll wait all night and nobody showed up or anything. >> reporter: six days and counting and jean darrellton has not heard back from d.c. police officials or a

>> you sure they had a police there? you sure they just making up something? these kids are 37 and 19, come on. >> reporter: she claims six district officers questioned if her two sons called the police when intruder jumped her fence and tried breaking in through her basement. surveillance video doesn't lie. not one, but two officers showed up to take a report and now nearly a week later, the report doesn't exist. >> when was this report taken ma'am? >> december 8. >> it's no not in the system. maybe a number or -- >> no 16207 [ [ bleep ] ]. >> nothing is coming up. >> if she did what they were supposed to do they probably could have kuingt them by now. >> picture is clear as day. >> clear as day. >> instead this man is on the run. >> this is really

report. >> reporter: and tonight, we reached out to d.c. police, as well as mayor's office for comment. and just in the last hour, the victim says timely a detective sergeant from the police department contacted her and d.c. police and mayor's office have yet to contact "fox5". live tonight in south east d.c., marina morocco, "fox5 local news". well shoppers were in for a shock this evening a shooting victim crashed his car into a mall in maryland after being shot several times and tonight, police say the suspect is on the loose. and "fox5" lindsey watts is live in temple hills with more, lindsay. >> reporter: tony the shoot iing victim crashed into the main entrance of the mall. the investigation wrapped up a while ago and tonight we've been watching as mall security and prince george county police keep an eye on the scene. we're got over there because it's private property. but

the damage from the crash. you can see those two doors and the broken glass and the barricades. this happened owe round 3:45 today. police say the driver of the car initially stopped in front of the mall where he told an officer he was shot and he asked for help. and then for some are on the victim slams into the mall. police say then they don't know why he did that. it may have had something to do with the trauma from the injuries. we could see bullet holes all over the driver's side of the vehicle. the victim was taken to the hospital and police say he remains in critical condition right now. before this happened, police say people spotted the victim's car being chased by another car two miles away on 23rd parkway and oxen run drive. this is what we found there. officers investigating and shell casings all over the roadway. tonight, police are not saying definitively that this is where the victim was shot. they say there may have been another

more based on gender identity. that plan was halted after massive push back from parents and lawsuits across the state and country. now it could be on pause indefinitely. several fairfax county pub will lick school board meeting where parents revisited implementation of new guidelines to accommodate transgender student and at time many of those meeting were explosive shouting matches even breaking out that you saw. the issue took center stage in may when obama administration released mandate for acquiring public schools to allow tranender student access to facilities based on gepder identity. fairfax county school board member says a gender identity policy implementation could remain on hold under a trump administration based on trump's nominee for secretary of education betsy duvoss. >> it's clear that her focus is on academic achievement which really i mean one would hope that education centers upon.

coming is really about horrendous winds and strong wind out of the northwest tomorrow and maybe, just maybe a couple snow showers tonight. we're seeing -- we think we're seeing a few northeast maryland a lot of times they don't hit the ground but it's showing up on radar. hopefully it won't cause problems. to be on the safe side this is colder closer to morning crews will keep an eye on breaths and overpasses and making sure there are not any isolated slippery spots. second change the of snow comes saturday morning. i'll talk about that in a moment at we. it's all about the cold tonight and snow showers that we may see not everybody will see that. but you certainly will not be missing out on the very bitter wind tomorrow and very cold temperatures that will be rolling into town just close to dawn with wind chills in the single digits and teens all day long. saturday morning also tricky forecast. that will begin friday night and maybe snow changing to sleet and then rain more on that any amoment.

at high elevations say above 2500 feet and could feel like 10 below zero or 20 below zero with those strong wind. let's talk about messy, early part of saturday the cold air will number place friday as we have a southern system pushing warm air in our direction. and the first thing that happens is we see snow out of that. and then it changes over to rain. the timing would be snow in the predawn hours changing to briefly sleet and then maybe as early as 10:00 rain. you probably don't have to shovel. here's what we're thinking in terms of first call and accumulation coating to inch in white areas whichen include d.c., montgomery country, prince george, fairfax and 1 to up norm and west and you'll have to look fast because the temperature on saturday get up to 52 and everything will melt and then the rain ends in the afternoon. and another batch of showers on sunday with a temperature of 60. warm-up for the weekend. after we get to a couple of
