convinced someone in the country is protecting her, but why? he wants to know what she told police so he can compare it what she told him before getting on a plane and leaving the same day martin died. but the d.c. police refused to turn it over. in two freedom of information act requests filed by "fox5" and questa family. >> they said she isen titled to right of privacy which apparently is more important than my right no know what happened. this say person that fled. we don't know where she is. and we don't know why she did what she did. and we have not had the chance to talk to her. we told police we thought she was thinking of leaving the country. think didn't do anything. so to this day i have no idea why she did that. i have no idea what she said to police. >> what baffled jose quest is

the fact the nanny was under orders not to feed the baby grapes and still she did. why? is the answer in that videotaped interview? in response to "fox5"'s request the d.c. police said this d.c. official code provides exemption from disclosure for investigatory records compiled for law enforcement purposes to the extent such records would con sti tult unwarranted invasion of personal privacy and we do not have an authorization for disclosure from the nappy and as you specifically identified an individual and redaction of her name would not protect her privacy interest. >> it's tragic to lose a son. i lost him. the police fire emergency and mayor's office social security making it more painful

>> we reached out to the mayor's office and that hour have heard nothing but. jose quest has no intention to sue the city just wants to see the interview with police. it's his hope the information would force authorities in honduras to locate judith lopez and get to the bottom of his son's death. paul wagner, "fox5 local news". all right. we have breaking news out of montgomery country. a woman was shot after gunfire breaks out in townhouse community. tisha lewis is live in gaithersburg with the latest. tisha, what can you tell us. >> well, sauer after, jim, what a rough way to start 2017. what we can say police say the calls came in reporting shots fired 3:30 an hour and a half ago and it's still active scene out here 100 block of lamont lane in fact you're saying a look at a home on this block inside the home are police officers. and now we don't know specifics about exactly what caused this shooting but what we do know is that police say they are

seen where a dark colored jacket. i asked police a few questions and most importantly was this suspect known to the victim and police said no. so that means that this could have likely been not isolated incident but some type of random shoot khing is more concerning. now, police tell us the victim is a female. they also tell us she was shot in the leg and right now we're told she's being transported to a new by hospital. all of this again unfolded around 3:0 this afternoon. police say flurries of calls came in reporting shots fired. when police arrived they found this woman on the 100 block of la mopt lane gaithersburg recovering nurseing a gunshot wound to her leg. back out live again police are in the area. we're told they're interviewing people who live in this area. we did ask to speak with some of the people. they does not want to speak on camera. i can hel you steps away

how long before we see actual action on this? >> jim, we're not going to have to wait long at all. in fact, we're learning that republican senator john mccain on thursday has a hearing scheduled with the senate armed services committee and that hearing will look at cyber threats aimed at the united states and we're told the center piece of those proceedings will be these questions about russian hacking and release of emails that were embarassing to democrat and clinton campaign in the weeks leading up to the election. but, while all of this is going on, though t. may be preempted. donald trump himself is saying that he has information that he could reveal as soon as within the next 48 hours. trump made this relation? florida saying things other people know he knows about russian hacking allegations suggest that fbi and cia reports that

most of the visibilities are up over 2 miles and it's not a problem and we have this setup when it's not raining it's drizzly and we end up getting fog. watch that through the evening hours. expect to be out for that and just about everybody goes back to work and everybody goes back to school. watch out we'll have more showers and more drizzle and fog as well. i think visibility could be down below two miles in some places not everywhere and temperatures will be above freezing. you don't need to worry about anything like that. temperatures, 44 here. gaithersburg 43. dulles 43 and just about everybody lower to mid 40s. annapolis northern tier counties westminster. frederick, hagerstown. this is basically up closer to finance and those temperatures in 30s. temperatures stay basically to 39 for just about everyone and hagerstown 37. i'm not expecting temperatures tonight to drop down close to freezing. we don't have to worry about freeng

rain as next wave of rain comes through. we have a wedge of colder air, 44, buffalo 9. it's not super cold. look at cincinnati 56. one thing want to show you how cold it surprise again into canada. cold air charming up there again and makes a run for us. not tomorrow and not as we get into wednesday but as we get knee thursday, friday and weekend very cold. temperatures in the 30s for highs and with wind it feels like in the teens and 20s and then that sets the stage for something we'll talk about towards end of week and into the weekend. by wednesday we warm up. not tomorrow. we stay wedged in with cooler air. temperatures tomorrow mainly stay in 40s. some of you may touch 50. by the time we get to wednesday that's when warm air breaks free and comes up and talking about lower to mid 50s on wednesday and preparation of the cold air that starts to come in wednesday night and by thursday and friday as i mentioned colder air comes
