quite closely. of course, the precipitation that matters get here before sunrise, because, that's why i think temperatures are down around freezing so anything that would fall can potentially stick. grounds still pretty warm with the last couple of days being fairly mild, yesterday being warm, snow, sleet, freezing rain, all of that kind of together tomorrow. south of dc mainly rain corks start off as sleet, freezing rain, goes to rain pretty quickly. metro temps again will be tricky. tomorrow at some point we could be 33, then 32, then could be 33 again, maybe jump to 34, then back down to 32. just going it kind of depend with the waves of precipitation coming on across. so even though it might be 33, that doesn't mean there might not be couple of slippery spot out there. of course, north of the metro, i think that's where temperatures will get down to 32 and stay most of the day. and of course the icy spots always a concern. you want to plan for some of. that will here is the deem. mostly snow up to the north. this is could be little accumulation, not much, mostly

back tomorrow morning. well, late tonight, 9:00 p.m., that key finally arrived. the family now set to move into their new place at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow. live in forest ville, lauren de mark over, fox5 local news. we're learning more about that horrific house fire in baltimore that left six children dead. officials say the mother, kate malone, remains hospitalized along with her two young boys who also survived. all of them are in critical condition. the children who died in yesterday's fire ranged in age from nine months to 11 years old. malone is a long time staffer of congressman elijah cummings, today investigators talked with eight year old girl who reportedly helped rescue some of her siblings. officials are looking into whether a space heater may have been the cause of that fire. >> woman is in jail tonight after police say she hit a tow line with her car. apparently the woman was upset with towing fee, went to the lot, got in her car, start today drive away wn

employee tried to stop her. fox5 keisha lewis here with the rest of the store. >> i from, there the tow company employee trying to wave this woman down and stop her, that's when she ran him over, reportedly dragging him for a distance, then kept going. it happened on wednesday. she was caught 24 hours later. we are talking about 24 year old amber harding. he shear is, charged with felony hit-and-run. harding lives in laurel, maryland, but was at the tow lot in fairfax early wednesday morning, reportedly running down eric lodge time employee. it says eric remains in critical condition at the hospital with no definitive result or conclusions to his well-being and certainly no relief date in site. i'll have a long road ahead. >> around 1:35 a.m., that morning, other tow employees at the business noticed that one of their co-workers was missing. so he then the to went to search for him. they found him down the street, he seemed disoriented and out of it, they called

>> developing tonight it, looks like there will be more than one changing of the guard on inauguration day. the head of the dc national guard will be steppingown around the same time donald trump is scheduled to be sworn into office. a memo announcing the removal of general err ill r swartz was obtained by the washington post. it says the six a year old general will be officially dismissed at 12:01 p.m. on january 20th. swartz confirmed the memo saying he will retire at that time, but he's unsure of why he's being dismissed. unlike other national guard chiefs or appointed dismiss by governors of their respective states, the chief of dc national guard reports directly to the president. now, we should tell you it is not uncommon to see a change in guard leadership when a new president comes in, but the change does not usually occur during the inauguration while the national guard is actively deployed. >> tonight republican lawmakers one step closer

big changes are coming to the chicago police department after adjust tis department investigation found cpd has a pattern of using excessive force, especially when it comes to minorities. fox's mike tobin has the latest. >> reporter: a 13 month probe by the department of justice into the chicago police department determined that officers were poorly trained. they shot at vehicles without justification, shot at suspect, they used force for retaliation, used force when there was no threat, and failed to de escalate situations and avoid force.

>> welcome back. look, big holiday weekends coming up t looks like we start off the weekend tomorrow with a little bit of freezing rain, some sleet, maybe some snow, too. look this is our in-house model. look at temperatures, along with what potentially will be falling, as that particular time. so at 10:00 we do have little return out to the west of us, so that's not bad. temperatures, i think, little cold for where we actually are right now. i do believe the model has these temperatures trending a little cool. probably catch up a little bit by tomorrow morning. but, right now, some of the numb letters are too cold. 11:00 see some returns coming over, maybe little bit of mixture. but again with the ground temperatures, well above 32 degrees, it is not a concern. and the temperatures, the air temperatures are well above 32 degrees as well, initially these waves will not and big deal. 2:00 in the morning we see little more coming across, perhaps little bit of light snow. mixture farther back out to the west and southwest, but again, all of the temperatures are above freezing. it is

says they're opening their doors for anyone who needs a place to sleep. let me show you where they plan on doing t it is this floor right here. they say this is where they'll start, depending on how many people show up, then they'll go from there. but here is the plan. they are planning on using these mats, putting them on the ground so people have a kind of comfy, padded place to sleep, and this is actually grown into a big community effort now. after the owners came up with the idea, the community start today rally behind them. they're now donating sleeping bags, pillows, coffee, food, all kind of things, in order to host people who are coming to the women's march on washington. >> i came up with the idea when one of my client came up to me, couple of weeks ago, and said, gosh, i've got six people staying at my one bedroom apartment. and, you know, anyone anyone else ask me i don't know what to tell them. i won't have
