new school chancellor. just started on the job this week. he didn't have answers to my questions about exactly what school leaders here knew that there was a bed bug infestation. but i did talk to him about parents feeling that what's happening now is too little, too late. >> what do you say they don't those parents? >> what i would say, i can't go back and talk about what happened. i can say it is important and we're going to do everything we can to address it. if there's thing we can do to learn from what's happened in the past we'll learn those lesson. >> reporter: looks like the cleaning process started. all material in the building, rug, cots, blankets and pillows will be removed's after cleaning, the department of allen will come in and do a thorough and

joke. they told us this incident happened earlier at pete's brant high school. they stairway intended as a joke. as you can see, its highly offensive. >> at least three students you can see the arms of two students pushing around a third african-american student who has a collar around his neck, and they're repeatedly using offensive word like boys and the n word. again, the students who sent us the video said it was a joke. even the students who was wearing the collar doesn't seem to be offended by it and thought it was funny. i'll tell you, the principal here at the high school did not find it funny. district said the students were disciplined and

marshall was intentionally set but dc stopped shortest calling it a suspicious death. paul wagner joins us live in northeast with this story. >> reporter: guys, mere in trinidad on queen street. the fire was in an apartment building about half a block up. now, on wednesday, we told you about a chilling message that was found on the wall of mr. ialie's apartment, we're learning more about what investigators found. they found blood on him. found blood on the porch leading to the stairs outside his apartment. we know when firefighters arrived they found the door wide open, and now we know that investigators also found four cell phones inside the house. but the landlord said he didn't own a mobile phone. >> the court affidavit filed in the case as investigators found evidence of

an assault in the backyard of the man's apartment as one in the porch leading to his back door described as blood stains. also said when firefighters entered the apartment, they found the gas stove top burner controls in the on position. when they discovered his body, there was blood coming from his mouth. in this exclusive we shot earlier, we saw a chilling message written, you going down iali. the owner tells fox 5 the day before the fire, he took him to the narcotics division because he was complaining drug dealers had taken over his apartment. the next day he was dead along with his todaying. police were looking for weapons

may have caused his death, they found multiple lighters and four cell phones. of he again, did not only a cell phone. now, we've had extensive conversations with the landlord in recent days fearing for his safety, he did not want to go on camera and he does not want -- he doesn't want to his use his name. we've reached out to dc police for explanation. the fire department ruled this was intentionally set. but the police department continues to say it's just a death investigation. they are not saying it's a suspicious death or that it's a homicide at this point. so this is still under investigation. but again, most troubling circumstances appear to be that mr. iali went to talk with narcotics investigators i the day before found dead inside his apartment. paul wagner fox 5 local news.

killing three members of a dc family and her housekeeper likely won't be tried until next year. during a hearing at dc's superior court, they agreed to pick a jury in 2018, they need at least a year to examine the dna evidence. he's accused of murdering his wife, amendmy and housekeeper in 2015. a tragic story out of gaithersburg, a four-year-old found unresponsive by her mother a week ago has died of her injuries. police initially charged 20-year-old iris hernandez with child abuse. investigators tell us they could be upgrade to murder once they hear back from the medical examiner. police were called to hernandez home sunday

headlines, two people are in critical condition after house fire in clinton, maryland, it happened just before 4:00 this morning. firefighters pulled victims from the home on the 7200 block of mill gin road. cause of the fire till under investigation >> no word what caused a massive fire had a fairfax county recycling and disposal center. this was the scene last night. it took several hours for firefighters to put out the blaze. all of the employees inside the building made it out safely. >> metro rail again, this time it happened along the red line as the dupont circle station, jim lokay was on the train at the time. capturing this video where you can see smoke pouring from underneath the train. service was delayed this morning for about 30 minutes. things were back to normal by 7:00 a.m. no word from metro what caused the smoke. a
