principal are are both mysteriously placed olivenite. l students and parents are left ask asking why. plus, it's one of d.c.'s mostost pussing crimes, a woman walkedkd into her northwest home and was never heard from again. on the eighth anniversary of her disappearance we're rewinding to the crime. we begin tonight with a fox5 exclusive.ex we are uncovering more about aut case worker who sent confidential patient files to al complete stranger she met on facebook to lighten her workload. i'm tony perkins and i'm shawn yancy. the files included social security numbers, medicalmedi records, turns out, though, that case worker has a criminalcrim record. she worked as a subcontractor for city and was fired after our first are report. fox5's teisha lewis has been on the story from the very beginning. what is the latest. >>reporter: shawn and tony this is la

mug shot. details about the incident popped up in a simple google search. she worked at inter city family services in southeast as a subcontractor for d.c.'s.'s department of behavioral health. the question tonight how did she end up with a job where she's given access to scores of private files filled with confidential information? sheti was hired by a contractor and ii think that the director waswa going to give you some followupw information about our resolutior with the contractor. she didn't.dn't but what's being changed in d.cd in terms of the hiring protocol that this would happen in the first place. this is laton yeah voter. mayor muriel bowser made it vert clear she was not a d.c. government employee, but she wah employed by a company hired byy the district.e she was charged with grand larceny in 2015, entered a guilty plea and had a two yearyr sentence suspended. this was all before she posted th

number. this is's crazy. i weren't a lawyer.n't i want to get a lawyer on this case. i think my identity out there, anybody could have anybody. they were notified about theut security breach after our interview. the director mayor muriel bowsem was referencing asay the district's director of behavioral health jones, iones reached out to her at least three times since our firstirst report. she just e-mailed me saying the behavioral health requiresoral background checks on its employees. the department continues to review this incidentme.nt just to be clear here, did they indeed do a background check on this woman? we don't know. it sounds like they're say aing they did because that's part of the protocol and we just don't know. if they did did, why did this pop up. i went to google and typed in her name and this was on theon first page. > a lot of questions here, too. >> i spoke with the victims tonight and they have the

h was just before midnight. joint base andrews had a wind gust of 72 that is two miles per hour blow hurricane strength. so no wonder there was so many problems with trees. hagerstown 60, widespread gusts over 60 miles an hour. i want to you to feast your eyes on this. it looks so much better to see the word calm up there.up winds out of the northwest at 8 miles an hour and that what is a wonderful sign indeed. i know that was terrifying for a lot of people.ple. with that wind really settling down and boy the way it came from this huge storm that dumbed another 15 inches of snow in parts of maine. they had big winds up there asas well.we that storm was deepening rapidly today producing that tremendoush wind fieldat at the same time hh pressure was building in. high pressure, though, is going to rule the forecast for theor rest of the night and while skies are clear now, i expect later tonight a little bit of high, thin cloudies to build on

the question here tonight is why did montgomery county police not notify the public that this teenager was missing.sing there are questions as too whether potentialry she was a runaway. fairfax county detectives sayinn there was great concern for her missing because her local affiliation with gangs in the area. they had been notified by montgomery county several weeksc ago that she wasount missing. they believed her to be in that springfield area and before the remains were found, detectivestt from montgomery county were out in fairfax searching and helpinn to search that area. there were at least three searches, including saturdayin morning ancld it was saturday morning when they with were in that lake area where they decided to expand the searchhe about a mile out and that's when they made the discover requirement today the chiefthe medical purpose's office theretr in northern virginia determininr the cause of death to be a homicide. they're looking at that trauma to

administrators, principal alex case and assistant principal michelle little. students and parents got a letter today confirming thathat principal case is on leave, but, that letter made no mentionette assistant principalr little. we only found out later thislate evening that she is on leave ass well. what we've heard from students is that both case and little are very well liked here.e. case especially. he's been principal since 2013. he grew up in fairfax county schools and then rose through the ranges as a teacher, assistant principal and then principal. one student told us she is really disappointed to see this happen. he's a really, really good man. i think he's done a lot of goodf for our school so i really hope this works out for him. i think since he's a youngeryoun principal he's a lot more relatable which is good for a high school principles a. he'sol really involved so p iri think e all really care for him. i reached out to both case and

northwest. she did some work. sent an e-mail earlier the next morning and then silence. no one hears from pam every again. that saturday, valentine's dayda pam had made plans to have diner with her mother, but you she never showed.howe although worried the butler family just thought pam wanted someplace until tuesday when they headed for the house. the doors were locked, but the alarm was off and pam's two cars were still in the driveway.riv when they got to the door theyor saw a lot of male so they knew something was wrong when they saw all the male and packages outside. they walk in the house and they look around and they look in pam's office.offi they saw papers and things in the office stacked up neatly, but if you knew pam it wasn't something that she would leave out. so then they go upstairs andstai when they got upstairs they looked in her bed was made up

bed or that should have been onn the bed were not there. this is the way the room looked three months later after d.c. police had examined every inchih of the place. pam's brother derek showing usus the surveillance system and the extensive work of crime scene search.se missing are the car keys, her cellphone, the purse that she would carrie her license and things like that in.in. and then the sheets with the bed. we never found those sheets. could they have been in the bags pam's boyfriend was seen on tape carrying from the house? pam butler was so concerned for her own personal safety she had a sophisticated surveillance system installed in the house. a camera on the back door, a camera on the side door and a camera on the front door but there was no camera on this side of the house. they saw pam entered the house but was never seen leaving

point is that she was killedled inside her house and her body removed from a winnow right here. after detectives left in 2009, derek butler showed us why. we came in, this blind was raised up. she would never take the blinds up. she would lower them from the top down that you couldn't seecl inside the house. and it was the only window in the house left unlocked. with that information d.c. police began taking a very closs look at pam's boyfriend jose rodriquez crews.z they questioned him several tiles, searched his h apartments and even asked him to take a polygraph, something he som ultimately refused to do, but they were unable to charge him c in a crime in the days after pam disappeared fox5 spoke with crews several times off camera. he denied harming her. the two had broken up. she told him to take his thingsg and go. dek butler talked to
