maryland becoming a sanctuary state. i really have a problem with that phrase because there is this underlying belief that then you are hurting a state haven or sanctuary for criminals whichimn means criminals are thus criminals. studies have shown thatt immigrants are more likely to be victims of crime rather than being criminals themselves.ms shielding people from the laws s don't think it's the right approach. i do have concerns, too. they're violent individuals invu this country who are here illegally. most people support moving those people back to their home countries. why are we paying to keep them in our prisons to keep themm here? the reality of state politics in maryland is that democrats control both the house of delegates and the senate. this bill right now has 75 co-sponsors, clearly they have a lot of support amongst the democrats. what is not so clear right now is if they could get the 85 vote
