the trump administration stamp on immigration is not over. wav course, virginia's governor and two senators are pushing back and demanding answers after an immigration raid near a church in alexandria. >> as you can see from the rundown, this is one of the top talker, we invite you to join, tweet us using the #5at630 the raid took place earlier as a group of six men were leaving hypo thermia center. lauren demarco is live outside the church in alexandria tonight with the latest. lauren? >> reporter: >> when you listen to what ice is saying versus people who witness this is saying. this was on february 8th to

he asked about sensitive locations, which are churches and schools, and about immigration enforcement at or near those areas. i did get a statement from ice. they say ice sensitive locations policy remains in effect, sensitive locations should generally be avoided. again, two sides to think certainly the people here at this church tonight not very happy about what happened, and have a lot of questions as to these virginia state officials. back toy in the studio. >> this situation is not over, forefrom over. lauren, thank you. the trump administration's immigration travel ban, as you know is on hold. instead of appealing, the president announced he will unveil a revised executive order on immigration next week of the first led to massive protests you'll remember across the country. what can we expect in the new executive order? niles standish is here to break it down. the big qst
6:35 pm
what are the main revisions you think need to happen and will this be enough to push it through? >> the two questions have very different answers. i think that the main revisions are about narrowing the scope of the executive order so that it is better able to withstand legal challenge. not to go too deep into the wings of that but one big issue is the status of legal permanent residents, green card holders as they're better known. the other point of your question, is that i do think there will be legal challenges, even to the new law but obviously, the administration will be hoping that those challenges are not successful this time around. >> have you heard, last time the way this rolled out, there was a lot of criticism about how it happened so quickly. have you heard, does the administration plan to roll this out any differently than the first order? >> i think that one of the key differences, shawn, is that by the nature of doing this, it's different, the first order came as a shock even to members of congress.
6:36 pm
few indicthis order will be different, obviously, the fact that it has -- the previous one has gone through the courts and has been blocked by the courts means that we have clues as to what's going to be in this version. >> do you think that some of those exemptions we were talking about, will that be enough or are you hearing there's other pieces that will be something that the courts are going to object to >> there are other pieces that are important here. the appeals court talked about, for example, due process laws being denied in the original version. another example is the idea of christians being favored in the original example. that, obviously, can run afoul of constitutional protections of freedom of religion. so those are the kind of issues that i think could resurface in a more narrowly drawn order >> let

bit. we've heard about leaks coming out. i know you wrote a piece awhile back. the president and some of the republicans are concerned about the, what they call the security leaks that are coming out, then there's also just whose leaking this information? what inside scoop do you have on this? >> you know, the second part of that, shawn, the inside information, i believe is a symptom of the fact that we have a white house that has a lot of strong personalities but also a lot of different competing centers of power. so to make a long story short, people are leaking to try to either improve their own status or to have a jab at internal rivals and that's creating a lot of instability within the white house >> they're going to be holding a committee hearing about the leaks. what are we expecting to come out of that, if anything >> this is the other side of the leaking process, which pertains to national security leaks.
6:38 pm
obviously, that is something that all administrations are concerned about. the obama administration took a muscular approach to try push back on that and i would expect the trump administration will do likewise >> we will certainly be watching. hopefully next week we'll be up and down as this week was. you enjoy your weekend and thanks for coming in tonight. >> same here. the trump administration is denying reports it was considering a proposal to mobilize as many as 100,000 national guard troops to round up illegal immigrants. according to a memo obtained by the associated press 11 states would be included in this immigration round-up each state's governor would have a choice on whether their guard troops would participate. the white house is denying this report. press secretary sean spicer tweeted this is not true, dhs also killers 100% false. a short time ago. the president responded it says, the fake news media is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the american people. to
