the lights of the washington monument with the national park service is saying about the latest malfunction tonight. fox news at 10 starts now. >> hi, everyone, thanks for joining us tonight at 10 i'm jim lokay. >> i'm lauren demarco. >> we get things started with what we like to talk about this end woo! being the forecast. it's been amazing weekend to spend outdoors. sunshine and temperatures approaching 70 in the middle of february. >> we should add a lot of you out there have off president's day and gwen a lot of people like that three day weekend and they see the weather carrying over to monday. >> we'll see it carry over. it's a little cooler and you know what, who is going to complain? with temperatures some 20 to 5 degrees above the seasonal average it's april feeling and february. so have the opposite going on. highs today upper 60s, low 70s across the board and we had winds that picked up a bit and overall it was not too bad. this hour 59 at

same in nation's capitol and 55 mannasas dulles and martinsburg and we have 55 gaithersburg and winchester 52 and culpeper cooler at 48, and 56 at hagerstown. so, we spoke about those winds. they were very gusty at times this afternoon. and they moved in from the northwest. so, brought a little bit of cooler air out there. but i don't think it dampened anybody's spirits at all and right now, sustained winds are anywhere from 3 to 15 miles an hour and we don't have wind gust to talk about and winds continue to improve and tomorrow throughout the day the winds will remain light. so for tonight then we're talking overnight low of 46. we have partly cloudy skies with light winds and winds northwest at 5 to 10 miles an hour and as we get into the rest of the week things will be just great as temperatures continue to stay above surpriseal even when we dip down a little bit. we're still going to be well above where we should be. i don't think it will be all bad

"fox5" tonight in montgomery county where fire investigators believe the massive house fire was sparked by a cigarette overnight in clarksburg. police had to wake everyone up on the street because of the fear the fire would spread. lindsey watts live with a look at the damage and lindsay the good news here is no one got hurt. >> reporter: jim, the family of four who lived here did get out safely. a couple and their two children. and they had only just moved in here a few weeks ago and tonight, look at what's left of their home. firefighters say this all started with somebody smoking out here on the back patio. >> we are kind of shocked and you just hope that everyone is okay and everybody is out of that house and you pray that your house doesn't go up in flames

>> reporter: she snapped photos of the home next door. she only found out after a bang on her door. >> your house is not on fire yet but not safe. >> reporter: montgomery county police officer john rowarch were first on scene and the people that lived here with already out. >> wind was whipping the flames taken was getting bigger. >> reporter: he knew he had to evacuate surrounding sglomz much appreciated. >> reporter: her home was burned and she and other neighbors know how much worse it could have been. >> they were very close to those homes catching on fire. i mean just moments away. >> reporter: fire investigators say it's not uncommon for discarded cigarettes to spark major fires especially with materials used in gnawer homes. >> we see this from time to time where the fire started outside and catches vinyl siding and burns quickly and fast and hot. >> reporter: neighbors started a go fund me page for the family that lost e

three weeks and so obviously upset and distraught. but it can be rebuilt. they'll move forward. everybody will. >> reporter: and the neighborhood started that go fund me page and it says the family is staying in a hotel tonight and they are so very grateful from the support from this community after this loss. we're live in clarksburg, lindsey watts, "fox5 local news". to arlington now police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened overnight at a home on north 29 street and investigators say it appears a couple people got into a fight at a party and then it turned violent. someone pulled out a gun and shot a man and the 23-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where he died and so far no one is in custody and tonight police rs identifying this man jason allen johnson as a suspect. take a good look that picture and anyone who knows where johnson is should contact police immediately. and we're in fauquier down down they where

jail and charged with muddier. sheriff deputies respond todd a home on meets road near warrington earlier this morning and found a body of a man inside the home and they arrested richard mcdonald and no word on motive and victim's name. they're doing an autopsy to figure out exactly how that victim tie died. to the district tonight police are looking for the man that sexually assaulted a woman in northeast d.c. and the attack happening on the 70 0 block of galloway street. the victim was walking done the street before 7:00 last night when passed the suspect. he turned around and grabbed her and sexually assaulted her. and police say the suspect then took off towards 7th street. if you see anything that could help police solve the case he would like to hear from you. >> a shooting is also under investigation in the district tonight. this happened shortly before:00 this afternoon on 4th streets southeast. a woman was hit by gun fire and taken to the hospital in critical condition and police have a lookout for a couple of men seen in the area and one of the suspects was reportedly wearing

and we're learning more details about the murder of southeast d.c. man and it happened friday afternoon on 1 street northeast when police arrived they found 6-year-old walter clark with trauma to his body. a short time later police arrested 76-year-old thomas bennett. she was initially charged with assault and is now facing a murder charge. it's unclear what the motive for the attack was and whether clark and bennett knew each other. >> president trump expected to sign a new executive order on immigration sometime this week. and the order just one of several stems the administration plans to crackdown on illegal immigrationing into the united states and tighten country's borders. here's fox's garrett teny. >> today we're getting our fist look at how the administration perhaps to carry out president trump's aggressive enforcement administration on border security in a "washington post" which claims to obtain two draft memos for the plansp signed by security
