starting to come together inoget terms of all of that.hat. here's where we have a winterint storm watch in effect. it includes stafford as well as anne arrundel and princene george's county. e are talking the criteria of five inches or more within a 12-thousand period is - likely to fall.ly if we take a look elsewhere wee have a winter storm warning inn effect. in this area we are looking at much heavier snowfall areas to e our far north and northwest could see 8 to 12 areas. other areas within this warning area including the district di could be anywhere from four tour even 8 inches of snowfall. this takes effect as off 7:00 p.m. monday right through until 2:00 p.m. on tuesday afternoon. we have a lot of variables toial think about here.t here is a look at the fox5 teamm forecast numbers for you, whato, we think will happen in terms of accumulations. this is our first look ate. anywhere from 812 inches from12i the mason dixon line pushing

way down to the northwest of o d.c. and then the d.c. line toie the south four to ate a inches and then as we take a look to a the south, that's where we see lesser amounts because we'rese w looking at warmer air moving inn there and pretty much close to o where the rain/snow line willn/n line upow we're only going to se one to two inches and then two to four inches. this is the information that wet have that we're going on right now. here is what you can expect. snow beginning from 7 to7 9:00 p.m. on monday.onda that precipitation will startecp moving in. we're talking wet, heavy, accumulating snow, not the fluffy kind, but this is going to be heavy snowfall you'll hav' to deal with for sure. rain and snow line right nowow looks like it's going to set upu southeast of d.c. and that's a very important thing becausempor wherever that line sets up will be the real division of who gets what in terms of snowfall and the no looks like it will start to taper off by tuesday t tu afternoon. so the things we are keeping ani eye on age ' going to touch on n little later from yo

the south, southeast is whatt we're going to be dealing with, not cold enough to support any snowfall and the more north yout go and especially the northwest, the colder air mixing with the precipitation is where we're we' going to see the heaviestavie snowfall at. one of the variables is of course where the rain/snow line/ does end upsetting up. with all the information we have it looks like it's going to bei the south, southeast of d.c. we're just going to be north of that rain/snow line. we're definitely going to be in the snow area.ea. here's what we have happeningave right now winter storm watch. this is actually issued yesterday. it encompassed a much largerlarg area. now it has been reduced. it includes prince george'sud county ases well as stafford and anne arrundel.an and that kicks in monday night until tuesday and then we have a winter storm warning. this has sort of taken over most the area that the winter storm watch was under yesterday. and this also includes the district, the i95 corridor and west especially.we and in the northwest area hereeh is where

with the national weathernati service criteria anywhere from 8 to 12 inches for the far northwest and then we're talking from four to 8 inches. this is going to begin 7:00 on monday night until 2:00 onon tuesday. our models, there's two mold we've been looking closely at.t. this is the american mold, the gff. this one has a lot more higher totals that it continues to written than the europe model. this one wants to bring in 10 to 14 inches and then from the d.c. corridor anywhere from 8 to 9 inches. this particular model wants tonts bring in up to about 11 inches.n that's a pretty far cry from the 14 inches that the other model had and then you can see the lesser numbers here along the i95 corridor in through d.c. an. then of course to the south, a lot less because of that warmer airflow. so we have kind of leaned a little bit more towards thiss model and kind of found a

as we put our forecast together four. futurecast i'm going to show yow the timing according to thisis mold of when things will happen and who is going to help with your planning. if you look here at 7:00 and if0 you remember correctly 7:00 is:0 when we see the warning that kicks in we start to see the snow moving in. this ping is your wintry mix. so this is this rain/snow linenn we're talking about. what's north it the colder air,, south of it more rainfall and that's where the warmer south easterly flow is coming. by the 10:00 area this entire area gets encompassed withth snowfall. wherever you see the darker blue is where you're going to start to see heavier amounts of snowfall. in the overnight hours into tuesday is going to overn be tht entire period when most of thehe snow will become very widespread and very heavy so by the time your up in the morning hours you're really going to see the bunch of it. you see the rain/snow line starts to move farther. by 10:00
