>> and i'm slawn shawn yancy. >> due to the cold weather loudoun county and fairfax are on a two hour delay tomorrow. >> let's get to "fox5" caitlin roth the temperatures are driving well below freezing tonight. >> that's rite, tony, shawn, another night with wind and cold temperatures meaning bitter wind chills to start off thursday morning. that is leading headline tonight bitter cold. not as windy at looingt night. wind chills in the teens maybe not single digits but harsh for those heading back to school it will be tough to be outside. 25 westminster and 31 washington. air temperatures 28 dulles and 27 martinsburg. earlier this afternoon most areas north and west of us did not even make it to 30 degrees today. 2 was one of the coldest days for march 15. wind gusts came down. peak at 45 mimes app hoyer and they're at 20,

hour and when you combine that wind and air temperature you already got wind chills outside rights now in the lower teens. it feels like 15 baltimore and 23 annapolis and 21 in washington. here's what to expect overnight tonight. we have nor easter parked over the new england coastline still impacking us despite the fact days ago. long gone. high pressure moving in and we have fierce winds in between. like i said diminish overnight and temperatures bottom out in the teens to 20s. tomorrow morning even flights breeze will push those wind chills into the low teens or possibly single digit for sox you. here's what low temperature look lining overnight, 24 washington and 24 frederick and 24 martinsburg. for those who have to head to the bus stop or work heat on high and bundle up considerably despite the fact it is warmer in the afternoon. we begin thawing out process in the pm tomorrow. we start in

we don't lose wind completely. breaking into the 40s in the afternoon although well below normal still. however we'll get back to normal and that will show up in the 7 day forecast. i'll have a peek at 10:30 stony and shawn back to you. >> we're following breaking news right now in prince george country a homicide investigation is underway in largo, maryland. let's get to fox5. >> we don't know much about the victim but neighbors told me they heard several gun shots and several police cars remain on scene blocking off a large section of complex parking lot this is tree top apartments and condominiums off campus way. it happened after 7:00 tonight. prince george county police got a call and when they arrived they discovered a victim. >> once officers got on scene they discovered a male in the hallway

wound. he was pronounced dead on the scene. as you see detectives and evidence technicians are here and still investigating a scene. our detectives are attempting to determine the suspect and motive at this time. >> you may remember in october of last year around the block from here a recent largo high school graduate was found shot and killed outside a car the parking lot remains roped off. however at this time police have no suspect or a motive. you should contact prince george country police. in largo owe, anjali hemphill, "fox5 local news". >> a story "fox5" is following for years. teenagers disappearing from the district n fact last week we told about you ten black teenage girls reported missing over a ten-day span. issue. >> "fox5" asked d.c. police for numbers on missing children and the city. and it is still waiting on that request and d.c. police twitter handle however there are multiple mention from the agency saying "there is not a spike in missing people in d.c.. we're just using social media more to help locate them. sorry to alarm you." >> so to say that it's not uptic in the number of kids that are going missing but to see that ten children go missing within two weeks that right there is alarming in itself. >> more alarming is what could really be behind the disappearances. >> i think about relisha rudd i think she was sold and to me that has not come up lately and i think we need to take a hardcore look at all these kids missing and though there's not been any indication they're involved in human trafficking i think the follow up is going to be so important to find out why did they leave? >>

out of the van carrying large storage binns and then using a tool to shatter front door glass and trying to break lock on second cameed door. unable to geted in they took off. >> this is similar to two other break ins watch as two hooded thieves break into this gun store 50 west armory in chantilly and security cam range footage shows it took 48 seconds for the suspects to break in through the front door and take off with 35 handguns. and the store manager says one man aked as lookout and other two took guns valued at $20,000. >> two days erltier two men breaking into the gunshot in rockville. they

republican and other democrat car pooled to d.c. hopping in rental car after a damper to fly back to the district. it's a long drive for lawmakers from opposite sides of the aisle. somehow they made it work and thousands tuned in for it on facebook live. we won't have severe wind chills they had this morning. it's a cold night. they're getting a whole lot of winter in this one week to make up for what we didn't get all winter long and unfortunately, not a good time against cold weather if you look for cherry blossoms. yeah i know this is video from down at the tidal basin earlier today and chunks of snow and ice, everything is frozen over including our building blossoms. it's so sad just to see these little pink buds with coating of ice over them and horticulturist were talking earlier today about how much damage was done. a lot of the blossoms in the fifth or sixth stage they're not going to be able to recover from. it they unfortunately saw subfreezing temperatures several hours below the critical mark of 27 degrees. they'll see that again tonight. what they're trying to do is bring in some of those buds in earlier stages into the lab and check them and see how much damage has been done and if they can revive them or not because as we heard earlier, gary mcgrady

tidal basin horticulturist have not seen anything like that because typically we don't get warmer weather in february followed by severe dmold march. it's unusual winter and we're hoping with the best for blossoms and peak bloom is scheduled to begin march 19. sunday. we'll see if that gets pushed back. i bet it will be. temperatures plummeting into the 20s. more sunshine thursday and that will help it feel a little nicer. and we'll begin to thaw out. i think by friday st. patrick's day temperatures at least getting closer to normal and showers will start off the weekend and it should be mainly just rain showers. how about the winds earlier today, my goodness. they were howling. peak winds topped 47 miles an hour reagan dulles and 45 bwi and 53 mile an hour wind gusts reported this evening. winds came down pretty good. but we're still seeing wind gusts 25, 30, 35 miles an hour when you pair that with cold temperatures throughout only

day morm and west. 31 washington and you got those wind chills and so it feels like 21 when you step outside in washington and 14 gaithersburg and 12 westminster and 10 hagerstown. full force asked behind departing nor easter. adding insult to injury for upstate new york. north east pennsylvania they got two plus feet of snow and getting more. departing nor easter no longer bringing us snow and ice but we felt effects of winds behind it today. as that pushes offshore, less wind and we'll still have bit of a breeze tonight and into tomorrow with those temperatures in the 20s and wind chills thursday, 7 a.m., if you're going back to school one of the districts has not called for day this is what it feels like at the bus stop. needless to say bundle up the kids good and yourself. for tomorrow, we're staying breezy high fresh newer place. sunshine, like i said will help into the 40s and staying in the 30s though far north an west. here's the setup overnight tonight
