this is fox5 local news at 10. we begin tonight with two breaking news stories. on the left there last picture from the mar low 6 movie theater on branch avenue in maryland a man was shot in the parking lot a short time ago. on the right side of your screen live pictures from woman door, maryland, four people including a toddler and a juvenile female were near west dale court. the shooter is dead. fox5's teisha lewis is live on the scene. teisha, what have you learned. >>reporter: here's what we know so far that calls came in shortly after 8:00 reporting gunfire. and tony and shawn as you mentioned mr. are are four victims, two are dead, including an adult man who police suspect is the gun man. they're still working to confirm that information. also dead tonight is a

female toddler. we're told she's between the ages of 2 and 3 years old. an adult female and also a teenage female were air lifted to the objection to the form we're showing you right now the neighborhood turned crime scene here on west dale in waldorf. the incident happened at the third townhome to the left. police say when they arrived the two deceased victims were inside the home. joining ursulina is diana a richardson with the county sheriff. what can you tell us about this investigation. >> right now we have investigators canvassing the neighborhood and trying to contact any relatives of the victims to try to determine what exactly happened. we know that wees offers arrived when they entered the townhouse they did find one adult male. he was deceased and there was a gun lying beside him. we're looking into the possibility that he was indeed the gunman in this case. there were three other people injured at that time. one was a juv

toddler who was deceased on the scene and then adult female. as to the two survivors what can you tell us about their injuries. >> both had multiple gunshot wounds and were both thrown to an area hospital. they're both in critical condition. > police are here on the scene investigating. what do you know about the circumstances that led to this? we know that the 9 # 1 calls came in. what can you share about that accident. >> the only information we have from this point is multiple people called about hearing the sound of gun shots. when officers arrived they knew it was inside a particular townhouse. we don't have any other information at this point. we're asking anybody with information to give us a call. > thank you so much for joining us. live again the victims were air lifted to area hospitals. just to recap they're in critical condition and there are two deceased victims including an adult male who police suspect is the gunman. > that's the very latest here from waldorf. teisha

> police are on the scene of a shooting on mar low movie theater. > let's take a look right now, live pictures from the scene. police tell us that someone shot a machine in the car in the movie's theater's parking lot. the crime scene tape is still up as they continue the investigation. the victim is taken to the hospital in critical condition. at this point there is no suspect or a motive for the shooting. the story, of course, is developing. we'll bring you more updates as we get them. new at 10, a prince george's county police officer is under arrest and charged with driving under the influence in his police cruiser. investigators say it's the second time it's happened since that officer joined the force eight years ago. lauren demarco joins us live with the very latest on this one. >>reporter: officer christopher brown was driving early this morning. they say that he was drunk driving along the belt, that he caused an accident and then he

it happened around 2678. 30:00 a.m. on the inner loop of the beltway in the forestville area, right near pennsylvania avenue. police say that he clipped the back of a tractor-trailer, then lost control of his cruiser and smashed it into a guardrail. the driver of the tractor-trailer wasn't hurt. an officer brown according to police took off on foot. he wasn't there when first responders arrived. he eventually did come back to the scene and they smelled alcohol on his breath. he is facing several charge, including driving under the influence and speeding. now, back in 2012, the same officer, christopher brown pled guilty to another drunk driving crash while behind h the wheel of his police cruiser. this time he ran into some street signs. i was a misdemeanor. he was initially charged with four skim until counts and was granted probation. tonight we caught up with his mother at her home. she didn't want to be identified because she is also in law enforcement. she said that ey

often stays with her but she hasn't seen him in a while and we were the first to tell her about this arrest. i'm just glad that he's okay. i'm glad that no one was hurt. i don't tell him what to do of course but i taught him right from wrong. i believe he is a standup signed of guy. i believe he made a mistaken, i do. he's going to have to pay for it > police chief hang stew within ski issued a statement reading, quote, i find the circumstances surrounding this incident gravely troubling and i apologize to the community for the appearance of impropriety, know that as always when i have the facts i will take appropriate action to remedy this and i will make the facts known to the public. police say that brown was disciplined after those 2012 charges and that they can't disclose the details of that punishment due to personnel laws, but i'm hearing it was some extensive

clearly, however, five years later he is active think working, has a take home vehicle once again. police have not revealed his blood alcohol level from early this morning, but they say he is suspended and internal affairs is investigating. > lauren demarco, fox5 local news. > also today, prince george's county state's attorney angela as you oh brooks announced a grand jury has indicted officer lee vie juan on charges of assault and misconduct while in office. in july of last year, juan and other officers were attempting to restrain an uncooperative subject when he spat in the face of officer juan. juan then struck the officer twice before being stopped by another officer. no court date has been set in that case. > new at 10, tragedy in calvert county tonight. an ate month boy is dead after he was attacked by the family dog. this happened at a home in lose bithis afternoon. when

the dog attacking the baby. authorities shot the animal to stop the attack, but the child died. investigators say a family friend was watching the baby at the time. > let's get to the healthcare scramble going on capital hill tonight. the vote on obamacare was postponed tonight. tonight the white house is trying to get everyone to fall in line so i they can vote tomorrow morning. sarah simmons is here with the healthcare debate. along with opposition from the democrats, some hard line republicans say the gop's healthcare plan looks too much like's obama's health law. after a long day of negotiating with gop law makers the president is applying pressure, now threatening to leave obamacare in place and move on other issues if friday's vote fails. president trump met with some of the assertive members today. some

conceding that while they do not like obamacare it's better than the american healthcare act at this point. one of the biggest sticking points are the mandates on insurance companies for different types of coverage. some other republicans are worried their constituents would lose coverage and that older americans would face higher premiums. after rejecting trump's on the bill says he still believes they'll reach an agreement with the president. indeed we've made very reasonable requests and we're hopeful that those reasonable requests will be listened to and ultimately agreed to. as of now, the bill also repeals tax credits that people can use to buy health insurance and replaces it with a new tax credit that's not quite as generous for taxpayers. it would cut tax increases for high income families and drug makers. meanwhile democrats are universally opposed to

a live look at the white house tonight. you can see the flag up there is blowing around a little bit, but i don't know how windy it is out there. let's check in with sue palka and find out exactly. hi, shawn and tony. not too windy at all and we're waiting for warmer air to come in. the good news is it has not been canceled. it's still coming but it's not quite here yet. while we won't be as cold as we were last night we are going to see a lot of places hing down to the low 30ss and maybe s some upper 20s. give it a few more hours and the jet extreme is going to start to recede to the north. the process begins tomorrow afternoon. still a bit of a chilly start but we should be able to get to about

ought to feel great. in the short term we're seeing temperatures dropping down quite a bit. 37 as you head out toward -- let's see, winchester area. and 38-degrees out in martinsburg. it is definitely chilly out there. skies are clear, but a little later tonight we're going to see the clouds coming in and that will make a little bit of a difference in terms of temperature. it's a warm front that's going to cross our area later tonight. nashville is 46-degrees. there's the warm air. it is definitely knocking at the back door. 78 in dallas. those are current temperatures. compare that to 32. that will slowly but surely oozing its way. as the warmer air is coming in with a warm front it's possible there could be a couple of little showers around tomorrow morning and if it's cold he in you have could there be a spot of freezing rain? places like racial town and maybe up

yesterday there was a meeting here in ward 8 to address those concerns. the meeting got extremely emotional. at times it completely off script and today we raised that very question, what exactly is happening? what is fact and what is just simply fear? >> i think every missing person is not sex trafficking. they're not abducted. some people just runaway. some people voluntarily go missing which is totally legal. since the start of the year d.c. police has renewed interest for missing persons in the district. but the new social media push has incensed and scared the community especially east of the river. wednesday night mayor bowser ward 8 council member and the acting police chief all called a meeting to address community concerns, concerns that have turned into hysteria. we can't even life our life

without somebody trying to put their hands on us. the reality is the majority of the missing children in the district have not been abducted. many leave on their own accord like diana white. she first went missing last year at just 14 years old and just yesterday she returned home after disappearing for a week. when they go missing try to find out exactly what is the problem when we do find them? where was they at? diana a's mother believes her child leaves home because of her family's plight crammed into to a two room apartment with seven members. some of them are runaways. p you get on p to of it and stop looking at everyone as a runaway, maybe the problem will be solved faster than it is. > searching for those missing, the attention is welcome, but believes this new resurgence of public scrutiny on these cases could be for political gain rather than

find the gunman who killed an 18 year old. someone shot alyssa banks back in october on prince place in upper marlboro the gunman also shot a man, but he survived. police are hoping you recognize the man in h sketch. again, they're offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. a civil spring man is under arrest tonight accused of trying to steal hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry from a maryland sears store. daniel grant hid inside the source in the white oaks shopping center in silver springs during closing last friday. they say he used a hammer to smash several jewelry cases and almost got away with $830,000 in jewelry, but officers responding to the scene caught him as he was trying to get away. grant is now facing burglary and theft charges. > that seems like a lot of jewelry at a source store, l $830,000. >> they have a fine jewelry section. > i'm sure they do.

is between the ages of 2 and 3 years old. police are still trying to piece together exactly what happened. what we do know this was some type of a domestic incident between the family. again, four victims, two people are dead an adult male who police suspect is the gunman, the toddler between two and three years old, a little girl actually than and the two survivors an adult female were air lifted to the hospital. we're told they're in critical condition. joining me live now is sylvia standard and you have an interesting story about how you heard what happened. walk me through how you heard about this tragedy. >> my sister called me and said our neighbor called her and told her what was going on because i think she knows the lady next door or lives close by animus have heard some gun shots and something and told her what was going on. that's about the gist of it. > and that lady, you believe, is one of the victims?

moisture that this is going to come through. most of the rest of us are going to wake up to some clouds and then as the afternoon goes on on our friday we're going to see the sun breaking through the clouds and it's going to be a nice day. it will be a whole lot warmer than these temperatures. upper 40s, a few spots got to 50 down to the south. it certainly was a nice looking day and it felt a lot better since it wasn't very windy. you get down to 34 in frederick. if there were a little bit of moisture and you head down to 30-degrees as the moisture comes on through that could be a little bit of freezing drizzle, freezing rain. culpeper 33 so winchester you're down to 32 clearly it will be another cold night, but not as cold as it was last night when many places even dropped into the low 20s. the spring warmup is going to begin tomorrow afternoon. how that happens when this high pressure area starts slipping off th

to me it's so cool. the closest thing to live theater that you can do where everything you can do cannot be edited and everyone relies on each other. it's also great when see it on the call sheet. three days to shoot one shot. ryan didn't memorize his lines. he had three lines and it took him three and a half days. there was one great day of shooting, the second day or something like that we're in the scene where he's getting his hand broken and ryan is looking through the glass and i'm behind him and he turns in the middle and goes we're all going to die. i couldn't stop laughing. i say it at home all the time. and the truth is we are all going to die. great guys. > they must have answered out of the 20 questions kevin candidate they answered three and a half.
