makers and house speaker paul ryan. and as you can see big stories tonight at 6:30 we invite you to join the conversation and use that 5@630. let's get to the blame game n now. it continued today president trump pointing fingers at represents for the house care bill collapse. on sunday tweeted democrats are smiling in d.c. that freedom caucus and club or growth and heritage have planned parenthood and o care. there was not stuff support friday. i think the president is dispointed in the number of people he thought were lawyer that were not. >> i don't think one person will fix this by themselves.

meech time gop lawmakers putting on united front forward and democrats already on tack launching midterm election ads aimed on republicans who back the gop bill. >> i was out on friday and i'm usually not here on fridays. we were out enjoying restaurants and bars and people were watching the vote or build up to it like they were watching final four. >> i think it is fascinating. >> it really is. >> it affect millions and millions of americans and it was important to a lot of people. >> we'll see what happens moving forward. in the meantime israel ortega starts us off tonight. israel, how are you. >> good, good, thank you guys. >> are we surprised here. first the blame was on the democrats. the first thing president trump says is well, couldn't get any democratic support. then swichdz to republicans. what's the game blan here? >> yeah, no, these are great questions and i think president trump has to
6:32 pm
short window to act and he's got to figure out whether he can work with these very conservative republicans or as lindsay gram just mentioned maybe possibly work with democrats who want to get things done and govrn and at the end of the day president trump wants top do that. >> as we heard lindsay gram sez say that's when he thinks needs to happen moving forward and what sean spicer swhed the president said he was serious about working with democrats. >> we're not saying it's the end of healthcare but we're looking for a way forward and i think a lot of the members and again on both side of the aisle have reached out not just to the president but members of the team willing to share ideas and both tat will mack the -- they think would make the bill stronger. >> so israel you know the gop bill as it stands now is dead in the water and we heard friday both the president and gop lawmakers say we'll move on to other things writing now. and do they need to come back together and start working on something else?
6:33 pm
does obamacare need to be fixed. >> yeah i think win of the criticisms about president trump and congress at republicans i don't think they did a good enough job selling to people about what their healthcare reform plan would do. they talk about repealing obamacare but did not do a good job in lieu of obamacare. if they go back to this they need to do a better job. president trump has to talk to the american people about why he's doing what he wants to do. >> you think about when they were running up to the affordable care act it was a long run-up. there were a lot of meeting in the grand extreme of things not a great effort to reed the bill and we saw how big the bill was. but the fact remains this really seemed this whole process seemed rush and i feel like you kloingt chance for compromise and deal pushing. >> i think it was grand total 17 legislative days if you look at president

was over 100 andal moingt a year leading to typeal vote. so yeah that has to change and i think in the interim look president trump can look at other things possibly tax reform and he's got to put point on the board. >> i want to go back real quick we talk about the president was talking about working with democrats and doing something to push this healthcare bill forward. it was freedom caucus members of gop who sort of held this up. how likely do you think we are to see them come together on this. i mean, we heard the president say and we know donald trump said he keeps list of the people who are enemies or turned his back on him. do you think they can actually work together? not just democrats but that 30 or so republican who's were against this? . we saw over the weekend congressman ted poe resigned over the weekend and not all of the freedomp

physical they do not comply or work with federal agencies if there is imgraiing and custom enforcement order detainer against those individuals. now interestingly nephew know you don't normally think of president trump and president obama having similar ideas being put forward and when the room opened for questions to attorney general the second question in that room was, doesn't this sound a lot like something that president obama put forth in the summer of 2 2015? take a listen to what the attorney general had to say. >> isn'tly the policies of the obama administration that were issued last july made clear that you should not be receiving certain federal funds if are you not in compliance with 1373. fundamentally we intend to use all lawful authority we have to make sure that our state and local officials who are so foreign law enforce respectin sync with the

government. and so, it's true. now in this summer of 2015 the president worked with house gop members to put forth measure is that the would limit some federalfunding to sanctuaries. whm jurisdiction dozen not work with immigrations and customs enforcement and obviously and pomp and circumstance if you will this is not a bath of honor the obama administration would ware on your test whereas the trump administration brought out the attorney general and they made a clear statement we heard him had talk about it on the campaign trail and within light of maryland legislature to make maryland sanctuary city. we have larry hogan who said it will not happen on his watch and makes the issue closer to home and district is sanctuary city as well. >> all right. "fox5" ronica cleary, thanks, ronica. >> i think wuvrnt interesting poin s

this. pomp and circumstance the trump administration did this with pomp and circumstance and obama administration didn't and we heard more democrats blasting and saying the federal government cannot bully these local jurisdictions and when we were talking about this earlier you brought up a good point about what they did during the obama administration. >> trust me i mean that sound has been going around online today like hey you cannot have it both ways. so again, but you know this administration they are administration. they made thoughts known and they made their word known to the people of maryland. they're going to move forwardthon. >> russia grabbed out of the coat tails this administration and another thing has them b buzzing apply for white house hard pass. >> sput nick would be participating 22 overseas outlets that report on and follow actions. hadas gold is here to join us. >> thanks for joining us. great to be here. >> for viewers watching right now not familiar with

congressman john lewis and this is on the lines of communications, alvin sykes with the emmett till justice campaign he had this over 40 years with working with unsolved cases. this is continuation of that. i had a wouldn't full opportunity joining minimum in the heat,. on line of communication and making sure attorney general sessions knows that this say priority. we want it to be a priority for the civil rights division and for the attorney general's office. we want to have that dialogue with him to impress upon him the importance of. it and there are other families that up like us, you know, we did not receive any skustis. you know with emmett till's murder and there's other families that need to know the truth and what happened to their loved ones and some that never seevd any justice or never any adjudication or any type of hearings or ina rest based on loved ones they lost
