examiner, noted, that multiple puncture wounds to her neck, suggesting some sort of torture had been done. also, the court documents laid out how they tracked corrina car and her atm card. that say that card was used to make withdrawals, all over the area, we're talking about in maryland and in virginia. another interesting thing that came out of these court document, is how the witness who reported this to police and identified the suspect, how he did this, we're told that apparently the witness and the suspect, mr. toure were smoking marijuana. the suspect, mr. toure pulled out a phone and pulled up fox5 story about the mehiel murder case, said to him, mr. toure said to him does that really look like me after viewing the fox5 story. that witness apparently, this is what he was telling authorities, got out of the

again, and called 911 to report mr. toure's location, and his car to police. now, earlier today, chief peter new some spoke about this, he is saying that it was a tip from the public that helped solve this case. let's take a listen. >> let me know how important the community tips were to the metropolitan police department in closing this case. we could not have solved this case without the support of our community and, for that, we will be ever grateful. and i'm sure the mehiel family will be grateful, as well. >> the family was in court today, declined to talk on camera, but they said they believe the police had been working tirelessly on this, also, mr. toure's attorney was in court today. she said that mr. toure did not commit this crime. that's what she told the judge today. she said. many look at the evidence. he was -- if

this apartment, there was probably a lot of blood inside that apartment. but they've found no trace of blood, according to the attorney. also, there has been no evidence found in that apartment that leads to mr. toure. so that's the very latest. he's being denied bond tonight and he won't be released at least until the next hearing, that's april 11. but at this time authorities are please today have someone in custody in this case. we will continue to follow this more on this at 6:00. for now live at dc supreme court, matt ackland, fox5 local news. >> developing now, the rape of a rockville high school teen by a classmate was, who was in the country illegally, still grabbing national headlines tonight. fox5 has learned the victim may have exchanged text messages with one of the suspect. the attorney for one of two suspect named in the case says the 14 year old girl texted one of the boys the day before the incident, and agreed have sex with him. this is according to

a small protest organized by some dc high school student took place at the white house this afternoon. a flyer was circulating on twitter urging students to walk out of school today. organizers say they wanted to bring attention to the dozens of cases of missing girls in the district. protesters want city leaders to do more to find those missing girls. about three dozen demonstrators turned out for this afternoon's rally. >> all right. so, yesterday started out not great and it became a beautiful day. i feel like the same happened today, woke up to the rain out there. >> yes, wasn't the nicest. but look, 07 degrees, sunny, beautiful look at over dc right now. sue palka here with the latest on the weather for us. i'm loving this. >> i'm loving the view. even the clouds are spectacular, real spring looking sky. actually had some showers around this afternoon, too, jim, czar a i know the thunder woke me up early this morning, but i think we got the bulk out of the way earlier today. but got few more showers that we still have to watch tonight. one good thing is we stay clou

today, and so that deprived the atmosphere of little bit of energy that could have fueled up stronger storms. we've had few stronger storms down to our south. but nothing strong at this hour. there was one that was around the culpeper area around 3:00 capable of putting down little hail. what's left tonight is really just light showers, and as we look out toward the hagerstown area, down closer to the interstate 81 corridor, maybe moving into lowden county, couple of light showers that will move through in the next couple of hours, but they're going to be pretty hit or miss, and drier air will try real hard to come in you can see we put everything in motion the spinning of the storm system going on by and while there is still a little bit of activity out here, we're going to see our skies gradually clearing out late tonight, but we have to wait little longer forefront al boundary to come through. in terms of this evening, and severe weather, i think pretty much off the hook with. that will the marginal risk of anything strong we are have been down in this area which is where we saw it tracking earlier, but even down there, now, not seeing much going on.

>> breaking news from the district where two construction work remembers stuck right now on a boom lift, aerial platform about ten stories high into the air. >> fire fight remembers down there, trying to get the workers down. five fox's tisha lewis live 1st st. southeast, tisha looks like active scene behind you? >> reporter: it is an active scene, learning more what led to this rescue effort. the inspector for the site next-door tells us that battery may have died and that's what caused these two construction workers to be stuck in the boom lift. you can kind of see what's going on, up there, right now, there are ten stories high,

of the residence inn at marriott. the residential aspect of it all. you can see there is a lot of firefighters and first responders on stand by here as this rescue is underway. james, what can you tell us about what we are watching right now? >> looked like a great effort of people coming out trying to get these guys back down. so they got the area quarantined off. look like they're doing a great job. >> reporter: you tell us the battery died. what's that mean? what happens next? obviously they're stuck, but what's that entail? >> i'm not sure if that's one of the possibility, but it means they're stuck up there, can't come down, battery operated, goes up and down, so they're stuck there. so looks like rescue crew has to come and try to get them down somehow, try to figure out what's best for them to try to get them down. >> how long could this rescue effort take? >> couple of hours. it is all about their safety and how safe can ty

richard phillie reported a bike theft, around 11:00 last night along stead wick road montgomeryville and. when the officer on the scene attempt topped write a police report, his body camera footage shows tilley lunging at the officer with a knife. that's when the officer fired multiple shot. tilley later died at the hospital. >> drop the gun. drop the gun. >> dc police officers, man with a gun on barnum street nearly year ago, confrontation led to the police shooting of is her man evans. earlier today u.s. attorney's office sd it wrapped up the investigation and will not pursue federal charges against the officers. both the us attorney and the metropolitan police department investigated, and they determined the officers were acting properly. officers fired about dozen shots at evans when he refused to put his weapon down. turns out he was caring a bb gun. >> some tens moments this morning near the white house, as the secret service was dealing with a suspicious

you know, the administration's decision to have that press conference yesterday, it basically makes it very clear that they plan to fully enforce federal immigration laws. those cities and states that call themselves sanctuaries basically willingly allowing illegal imigrants to stay in their locations, they risk losing federal funding and grant from the department of justice. so, will the district, the district every columbia, a openly acknowledge, as it calls itself a sanctuary city. will they respond. will they change any of their practices because of this announcement from the white house yesterday? well, i had the chance to ask mayor bowser, and interim police chief, newshopping about this at a press conference today. first and for most, will district police now ask immigration status after making arrests? take a listen to this. >> it is a long standing policy that metropolitan police department not to enforce civil immigration

>> couple of showers around, but not much. interesting, bass as you look out, looks like beautiful day. for most places it is but couple of showers here and, there we could have used little more rain than we got, although just un half inch at dullos, mainly this morning, but reagan national, only picked up .2, so kind of miss that area, and where it is not clouding up and briefly showering on you, it is pretty nice afternoon, up to 73 degrees, again check of radar, you can see the spotty nature to the showers we have around. but we have to keep them in the forecast for three more hours or so, gelling in closer here ' what we were watching, controls to the radar site, south and east of leesburg, couple of spotty showers up toward damaskus, not too far from montgomeryville and, maybe into parts of howard county, but you can see, that there really saint lot going on. frontal boundary getting closer out here. so showers bit more substantial. we work our way east of cumberland and romney on down west of the winchester area.
