5:00. we're following a heartbreaking story out of charles county tonight. a father was cutting down a tree in his yard in la plata. the tree fell the wrong way and hit his two young children, a 2-year-old was killed and 5-year-old was seriously hurt. skyfox flew over the neighborhood and the sheriff's department is investigating. is search is on for a missing woman in the district. last seen march 29th, she wasn't reported missing until yesterday. this is not the first time she has gone missing, she disappeared in 2014 when she was 16. at the time she was last seen on savannah terrace in southeast >> we now know what caused a restaurant to go up in flames this afternoon. firefighters

fridaying machine caught fire on georgia avenue. no one was hurt in the fire, when firefighters arrived they found the flames shooting from the first floor, they were able to put it out quickly. some people live above the restaurant. it's unclear if the they will be able to return home to tonight. ♪ ♪. we want to get to breaking news out of fairfax county. we told you about this at the top of the newscast. we're learning the name of the victim hit-and-run, 75-year-old maria asensio, she was crossing the street when struck. the driver turned around and struck her again before taking off. she died at the scene, police have taken keenan osgan of fairfax into custody. we're awaiting a press briefing. a temple hills man shot two prince george's county firefighters when they entered his home found out his punishment today.

death of the firefighter, instead, explaining why they had to come to the conclusion that they would only be able to go after him for a gun charge. . >> that's what the evidence tells us, he was going to you a diabetics episode. this why his brother was concerned. he had made contact with him several times during that day. he call him, he said had us brother was speaking incoherently. he was confused when he called him. and when he no longer reached him, thought his brother had passed out because he had done so at work. couple of time that is week, he had passed out because of the diabetes at work and was later forced to retire. when his brother was unable to reach him after the initial phone calls, he was frantic and said my brother is in there, he's sick at the at least and maybe i dead and urged the firefighters please knock the door down to get to my brother, i think he's in a medical emergency.

nothing as he left the courthouse, but during the hearing, he told the judge that he was very sick that night with diabetes and grabbed a gun and shot and killed john and wounded voluntary firefighter along his with own brother. the firefighters had gone to the house after lumpkin's brother called 911 to say his brother needed help. when no one answered. the firefighter to say forced entry. and as they did, lumpkin opened fire. swain was hit four times and in the court he said he has survivors guilt blames himself and has had to live with there's. angry and depressed he didr he said he was in a deep hole and couldn't come out and finally had to seek help. lumpkin was not charged with the shooting. he faced a simple gun charge, and as the state's attorney explained, lumpkin had been convicted of simple assault. in the district, in

arrested. 31-year-old kenan oscan. they were asking folks to call them if they had any clues. they got a call of an attempted robber had a shopping center, they went to that shopping center because a woman had been assaulted after taking a picture of a man that she thought was acting stranging. well, then police talked to him and found out there was front end damage to the car, then they arrested therein-year-old keenan oscan. then they said he was responsible for not only the hit-and-run but the attempted robbery. at this point, he's charged with attempted armed robbery, hit-and-run, we're told by the commonwealth attorney will look at this to determine if not more
