crashed in leonardtown, maryland. one of the crew members was tape by medevac to a local hospital. however u.s. army spokesperson will not describe those injuries. the other crew members are okay. we should also tell you we have multiple reports opt ground here now that one of the people was deceased killed in this crash in leonard up to maryland and still waiting for official confirmations in united states army on that scene. now as to the people here when this happened it was something they say they will never forget. listen to joe carter who was across the street and later joy shrub a reporter from the baynot.com and filed one of earliest interest vet reports in immediate after math of the crash. >> and then probably step minutes go by and another helicopter and they flew a guy out. of course, we turned the scanner o

breton bay. the u.s. army is now in operational command of the scene. we can tell you we have scene half a dozen helicopters in the air today. now, we're told that this helicopter wept down on the third hole. that is right over that ridge ever trees. however, when we arrived on the scene we can tell you we saw recovery teams the length and breath of this golf course out to 14 hole picking up what appeared to be pieces of fuselage and pieces of this helicopter. as to a cause or what led to the events of this crash we're simply not able to report that yet. we're awaiting a news briefing at some point this evening from the united states army u.s. military district of washington. and for now live in leonardtown, st. mary county, tom fitzgerald,

this might have something to do with the knockout game. you may have heard about it where groups of young people come up and hammer somebody in the face knocking them to the ground trying to harm them. there's no evidence so far that is what's taking place here in columbia heights. we reached out to d.c. police. we asked for some kind of comment. they said these cases are under investigation but they have no further comment. and we have no information at this point as to whether or not there's any video. there is cameras in the neighborhood. some on a few buildings we've seen. but at this point we're not sure there is video. mr. nyugen nephew thinks there's video and maybe the police will be able to release that. again, that's the concern here. both of these attacks are taking place in the afternoon on a busy street. live in columbia heights, paul wagner, "fox5 local news". >> a man who barricaded h himself inside his virginia home with two young children is now in police custody. police say the man was taken

the situation began. it all start around 8:00 last night inside a home near call pep erin londonarie road in the for the hunt air area. they were force todz use a ataser on the man when he barricade himself. and two children ages four and eight were inside at the time and they are now safe. and a young boy who lives nearby says he was surprised to see this all unfolded in his neighborhood. >> big robot came out and it looked like a robot used to differ use bombs and eventually they mash. ed through the house and they gotta hold of the man. >> and i never knew this could happen. thought it was a nice neighborhood. now there's going to be much more people on watch for if this could happen again. >> police say the man inside the home was experiencing some sort of mental crisis. fortunately no ones

>> we're fairfax county tonight where police need help to find a man wanted in connection with a sex assault that happened in springfield. this is surveillance. the ma'am they're looking for it happened in the 7,000 block of commerce street on march 30 of 2016 this is old case. but, we're still looking for suspect here. police say the suspect grabbed a woman, pulled her into a storage container and robbed and sexually assaulted her. and police came back to the area today to pass out flyers and search for clues, of course in situations like t this, if you have any information give police a c call. >> and a time-honored tradition carried on at the national zoo today for moore than a century the due celebrated easter monday. in the past it's been traditional for african-american families to visit the zoo on this day and people of all races and ethnic groups enjoying activities. the zoo held an easter egg hunt and special animal demonstrations and live entertainment. security was extra tight because of the past and violence broke out because of easter monday celebration. >> all right, well, for those

so far at 5:00. 68 degrees. a big difference from yesterday. that's for sure. martinsburg, hagerstown, couple better land where you've been sunnier longer and temperatures have gotten into the low 70s. 72 westminster and we have upper 60s down so the south. boy what a change in temperatures. yesterday was it too hot for you very interesting hot easter. now we're 19 do 20 cooler thanks to showers and clouds that have been coming on through. again the evening planner i think temperatures will be really pleasant going forward and we're pretty much zone with the rain and it's 7:00, we keep that temperature close to where it is now at 68. by 9:00, 65 degrees and by 11:00, of 1. but this will be a little bit of a cool evening. now, tomorrow, sunny and seasonable. back into the mrentscy of sunshine variety but temperatures stay close to 70 or 72. and that's truly a bargain. that is for sure. next couple of days looking very nice. but clouds will be back with us on wednesday and we'll have more on what you can expect wednesday and what the next chance of rain
