doesn't agrees the policy. sanctuary cities allow dangerous criminals onto the street. q. we're following this one for sure. we're awaiting action from the white house. >> congress may be closer to averting the government shutdown much the president appears to be backing away from a demand to begin funding a wall along the mexican border right now the white house is confident the government will remain open. if the congress doesn't reach a compromise by friday midnight it trigger a partial shutdown monday with happens to coincide with the 100th day of president trump's term. if the the president does indeed back off of this they think they can work out this deal by friday. we talked last night about the optics about the president being in a rally on wednesday, i wonder how different it will be if part of the government is shutdown. people don't get that we're not just talking about federal agencies we're talking

you, a lot of families especially in our region. >> the associated press analyzed the president's first 100 h days, president trump has accomplished ten of the 30 promises he made. most of his accomplishments came in the form of executive orders. of the ten promises that required congressional action none have been achieved and most have not yet been introduced. we always have guests on the smoa show. we're going to bring one in now spencer. how are you. >> good. >> we had murray simpson. he's stuck in traffic. it in d.c. from time to time. first and foremost the white house is saying by involve executive orders president trump is incredibly effective. what is different than when pupil had executive orders and people are saying that's the mark of a dictator. >> what i do wrant to get back to is the rally in

the president on his first 100 days why don't we judge a president on his first year. >> i think that's a good point. especially since you have a president who has not navigated congress ever. he has not had to deal with president before and that's why people voted for him. i want to get to something was some news that came out about former national security advisor, michael flynn. we heard earlier from i lij sha cummings. section 1, 001, advised that knowingly falsifying or concealing a material fact is a felony which may result in fineses up to five years in imprisonment. based on these documents i believe the oversight commit ' -- is the michael flynn situation over and done with at this point. >> i think republicans hope it is. i think

continue to drag on much as it continues to drag on it's only a distracts toward what president trump is trying to get done for the american people. fortunately michael flynn, this h will not go away today or tomorrow, but again unfortunately it's just one more distracts unforcedderror by the administration to continue on with their message. >> let's bring in murray simpson now, democratic strategist. thanks so much. >> who slowed you down out there today in. >> the d.c. traffic. i'm a county boy. >> we've been talking about the 100 days. we've been talking about michael flynn and a this administration's wins and losses. as a democrat would you say, what are the wins that we've seen so far in the trump administration. >> if you consider attacking women's rights, attacking our environment, attacking working people, if you consider those wins then they're hitting a homerun. i just don't see any true
6:36 pm
>> i don't think that's a win for us, eelter. i think we need to be looking at what's truly important in these first 100 days. he's failed on every campaign promise that he made to people. we're talking about him stirring up his base, but there's completely a disconnect between what he's promised, what he's doing and what people expect from him. >> as we look at the video right here because he made an announcement on snap on tools a way back and every time the president held up an executive order, it was a sign of people in the world of wisconsins, pennsylvanias, we're going to do what we can. this executive order is going to get the wheels in motion to bring some jobs back. i think there are people out there that don't care about the political results they want to see something is going to be done. this is a game of moving cups really. executive orders are easy. it's easy for him to come in
6:37 pm
obama's executive orders, but when we talk about really maneuvering and delivering for people, you have control of the white hours, the senate and the house and you're not making any legislative victories that truly have impact on people. let me ask you, spencer, to the president said a lot about democratic obstructionism. are you seeing that present your perspective here that the democrats are standing in the way of the president's goals. the moving cups, there is this disconnect with the democrats and then the american people, the washington post two days \{^ing}a\ago\agriculture release a poll that said over two-thirds of americanss agreed that the democratic party was out of touch with american voters. and within that same poll nearly half the democrats agreed that their party was out of touch with the voters. not only is that a poll, but you look at the results of elections. you look at the results of the state legislators, you look at the results of the executive branch, you look at results of who is in control of

elections have consequences. maurice, do you want to give a final word. >> spencer, he's comparing apples and oranges. you talk about democrats being dissatisfied with our party, that's the one thing we're dealing with, but when 63 percent of all americans are dissatisfied with the performance of this presidency according to another recent poll that spencer failed to mention, i think that speaks to the broader concern of h this president not delivering. that may be 63 percent, but in that same poll the democrats or american voters in that same poll, 66 percent said the democratic party was out of touch. so i'll 66 over 63. if you let republicans comment on their thoughts on the democratic party i'm sure the number is a little higher. we can keep this going on and on and on, certainly when we have a democrat and a republican in here. thanks so much, guys. we appreciate it. a lot has been said about the first 100

but after getting the attention, the white house has been joining in? a. the trump administration's big essay cheessments so far. tom fitzgerald joins us. when it comes to this 100 day stuff it's a little bit like the weather in london. if you don't like the answer, wait a few minutes it might change. the reason being is during the campaign then candidate trump was often telling crowds that they would be doing very big things in the first 100 days. that seemed to change as soon as they got into office. as recently last friday the president tweeting the 100 day mark is what he called quota ridiculous standard to live up to. now it's tuesday, apparently things have changed because when you turn on the white house. golf website there's a brand new page highlighting the greatest hits of the first 100 days. neil gorsuch was there, yes,
