doctors locate david watson hiding out nearby the clifton t perkins psychiatric hospital and if you look to your right eugene this is press conference that we are standing by for in just about 30 minutes or so we hope to learn details i want to invite all of you to join us on our fox5 d.c. facebook page we'll be streaming that live. meanwhile let's get to some video of that search effort yesterday. the local worker who called police wednesday said he spotted watson near railroad tracks not far from the psychiatric hospital. that is where watson escaped last friday where from police custody as he was being transported he was due founder go a mental evaluation there. now after an all day search around 9:40 in the evening, howard county tactical teams found watson hiding a few hundred yards from where the tipster spotted him. it was right off of dorsey run road. they found him laying inside a small drainage pipe about 18-inches in size. we're also told that they found some packing materials inside. it's not exactly clear what type of materials were found in there and what he might have used it

for, but they say that he was wearing a white her hat and safety vest which was stolen from nearby storage building. this pipe that he was found hiding we're told was actually searched previous in the day by police but officers recheck it hours later using night vision equipment. good thing they did. he surrendered and he was taken into custody in good condition. now watson was serving a sentence of over 100 years for attempted murder in delaware. he was also face additional charges here in maryland for attempt murder. again, this morning he is being held by howard county police and in less than 30 minutes we'll learn about the search efforts as well as the arrest that took place. again, we'll be streaming that life on our facebook page fox5 d.c. so join us there. back to you in the studio. >> all right, annie. want to let you know we're carrying that press conference life so please do tune in if you'd like to learn more about that escaped convict now been caught. >> 90:00 nip. let's talk about a disturbing story out of montgomery county. 18-year-old student facing serious charge

driving a stolen car to school with stolen weapon inside. police are crediting an alert resource officer for a arresting that teenager. melanie alnwick live outside albert einstein high school with really on this disturbing story and it's frightening. >> reporter: that's right. disturbing, frightening, and as you get more and more into the details, i would say it gets even more so. now, it began on monday, monday morning around 10:30 in this school parking lot here. and that school resource officer noticed 18-year-old mario alvarado driving what he said was an unfamiliar car parking it toward the back of the parking lot and getting out of the car and walking toward the school. the 18-year-old now under ar arrest.& police officer said he walked back toward the school, then he walk back toward the car maybe make something strange movements got into the car and that is when he drove off the school property. the school

followed him and it was at an intersection not too far from here where alvarado apparently got out of that vehicle and then ran away, and school resource officer stayed on the scene. alvarado returned to the vehicle and then that is when he was arrested. but here's where it gets really strange. montgomery county police then determined that that mazda three was stolen in wheaton last thursday. in the trunk was an ar15 rival that was stolen from a rockville city police cruiser last saturday. ammunition in the vehicle as well. police said they discovered a second stolen car. a nissan frontier parked near einstein high school inside that frontier officers found a shotgun stolen from the same rockville city police cruiser. now parents were toll of the incident on monday. in a letter from the prep and school superintendent doctor jack smith then sent out notice to the ent

school community last night. essentially saying that they take this incident very ser seriously. that anyone who brings a gun to school on school campus is going to be in trouble with law enforcement. but, guys, here the other thing that a lot of people are commenting on our facebook page about. alvarado was given $2,000 bond. he bonded out so he is now waiting to go back to court in june for these charges. but we learned based on doing a court case search that he had only been out of jail for two weeks. he was arrested two weeks ago in baltimore county also for a car theft, and he posted bond on april 19th. so a lot of questions there about whether $2,000 bond was appropriate in this case. we should also let upping that there's a 15-year-old student who was also arrested charged with that second vehicle theft. that veep-year-old student was released to his parents on those

grease in here and that's what really attracts the rats i want to show you the evidence that they're out here. obviously you see them every now and again of course. rat traps in all the alleyways and neighborhoods around the city. especially here in dupont ci circle. our camera yesterday did spot some rats out here in the adams morgan area. another by product of our mild weather. apparently rat complaints are on the rise in neighborhoods especially near restaurants in the downtown area. d.c. council members are putt pushing new rodent prevention plan that would ask business owners to keep their grease bins they're stored greece after it's been used inside their restaurants and also to seal their trash cans. here now charles allen d.c. council member. >> this would take us up to the neck level which would really be trying get all of the establishments to have in best practice how those trash containers are stored interior not

grease trappings. i've heard lost neighbors talk between the trash and grease it's like a because of fay for the rats. we're trying to get at that. we've got to get that out of our alleys and neighborhoods. it's serious problem for health and safety initiate our neighborhoods. >> reporter: guys it's always been a problem it seems to be worse now because of this mild weather you see a lot of the dumpsters and garban cans have chains. is it really working? not necessarily. i don't -- i don't see any rat there. the other issue the grease these grease bins are all over the city and again you wouldn't want necessarily to keep a piece of machinery like this inside a restaurant but they are asking mr. allen councilman allen is asking business owners to consider that. if there are regulations that are violated there are fines and that fine money goes to the vector control program here in d.c. to try to, you know, get rid of the rat problem which is just, you know, a fact of live in the city unfortunately. guys

leaving no stone unturned in their search for this convict who was considered armed and dangerous at one point. >> zen us pictures to share as we await word from the authorities to give us more details what may have happened. this is the latest photo mug shot of the person who they were able to track down who again maureen said didn't make it all that far from where he had escaped earlier this week about a week ago. and that is where they found h him. and we had heard that storage -- drain area pipe was only about 18-inches wide. so apparently they went back in with night vision and searched it first time didn't find anything. went back in and there they did in fact find him weren't able to take him in custody. >> yeah. >> if you're looking there i don't know if that was some bedding material in that drain if if my eyes don't fail me that what it appeared to me. maybe someone was helping him to hideout for as long as he did. with serving 100 year sentence for attempted murder you ment

it's g-a-r-y-g-a-r-d-n-e. r. chief of police. >> thank usher row. good morning everyone. thank you for being here before i get started i do want to recognize who is with us today. behind me. as you know, howard county officers arrested the escapee last night david watson. host, we were not working alone. this was a team effort from agencies at the federal, state and local level i just want to introduce some of the partners who are with us today. i have with us from the maryland state police lieutenant colonel frank leo. from the us marshall service assistant commander matt burke. the mayor of national resource police

earnest letter bury. from the anne arundel county police captain frank dewey. howard county sheriff bill mcmahon. in addition to those agencies, we also had assistance over the six-day period with the csx police carroll county sheriff's office, married department of corrections, and howard county fire and rescue. so as you can see, it was clearly a team effort of maryland law enforcement and also from our federal partners. last night, howard county police tactical team arrested david watson in a wooded area off dorsey run road after the six-day search. our search expanded signi significantly yesterday after 911

in a business in the 8200 block of dorsey run road at about 9:30. that caller reported spotting a man on the railroad tracks behind the building in the 8200 block of dorsey run road. the man was wearing a white hard lat, a safety vest and dark colored pants. when this person spotted him, he ran back into the woods. we arrived on the scene immediately with our partners we reach out to they responded promly. search efforts extensive search efforts commenced at that time. we had blood hounds, aviation support from many jurisdictions. we had tracking teams that scowered that entire area from the search efforts it appeared that the

traveling at least a mile, a mile and a half in a northerly direction from perkins in an easterly direction an west direction. he had been covering an area any from one to 2 miles in either direction from the actual sight of where the escape occurred. last night, as darkness fell a plan was in place to stra strategically place officers in teams in areas that we believe the suspect had been moving back and forth at about 9:40 p.m. last night tactical officers while in the area that we had been checking earlier in the day were able to use night vision equipment in about 20-inch diameter drainage pipe located the suspect

the officers immediately took him into custody. there was slight struggle during that time in which he was taken into custody. overall he's in good health and was transported to the howard county detention sent. we had been contact with delaware. they are aware that he's now in custody. we have indication and have had conversations with watson last night. i'm not going to go into all of those details other than to say that he was cooperative and we have some preliminary information about the areas that he was traveling while he was on the run for that six-day period, and we -- that's how we confirmed he was about a one to 2-mile radius from perkins where the incident first evolve

>> when you're making a movie like this do you get a sense of that, like you're really nailing it or the chem tree is really amazing? >> well, you know when you're having a good time, and normally that, you know, hopefully that translates into something that other people will enjoy wa watching. but these are four great actors. i mean i'm inn clueing in that in that sentence but three other really great actors and you know to be able to do movie where a lot of is just sitting around the table and listening and talking and fighting and laughing and joking with each other is, you know, real treat. these are, you know, steve queue began and richard gere and rebecca hall are some of the best acting partners you can have. we had great time. >> in this day it's fast and furious 79 and the 82nd super hero movie has come out we're so used to all of this action on screen in order to get the bucks. >> sure. >> do you think that a pure really good acting movie in this day and age can be a
