>> by now you've probably heard about the top secret bombshell, president trump is defending sharing sensitive intelligence information about isis with the russians. it is one of the major stories we're talking about at 5@6:30 and not the only one. there is a lot to talk about. if you have any thoughts share them with 5@6:30. reports that president trump revealed highly classified information to senior russian oaftions. the washington post standing by its story that it was the info shared in the oafg press. the national security advisors strongly deny
6:31 pm
today mr. trump's own tweet seemed to contra disik all of that. he tweeted as president i wanted to share with russia, which i have the right to do. and technically from what i understand he absolutely has the right to do that. the question is, was it a great idea. that's the bigger question a lot of people are asking. we had hr mcmaster coming out that denied any information exchanged hands the national security advisor said today, the information that the president shared was appropriate and not damaging in any way. what we don't do is discuss what is and what wasn't classified. what i will tell you is that in the context of that discussion, what the president discussed with the foreign minister was wholly appropriate with conversation and is consistent with the routine sharing between the president and any leaders with whom he's engaged. the question is, we of course are going to continue to askas
6:32 pm
thing to do? lawmakers on capital hill are no doubt sounding off on this. nancy pelosi called the sharing of information pathetic. >> what the president did was totally outrageous. if it was unit withing, that would be pathetic and dangerous. if it was intentional -- i don't know what's worse. clearly the president didn't do anything illegal, but my advice to the president would be, if you're going to talk to the russians about anything sensitive, run it through the system first. we can go back and forth about what was appropriate, what was inappropriate, but we want to bring in anal lies scott wilson how are you this evening. >> good. >> there was so much talk yesterday about whether the president did the right thing and from all appearances it seems that the principal is fine. >> sure. i mean on principal it's fine as you alluded it's
6:33 pm
respect to what information he shares and with whom he shares that information. you're he going to get a lot of different opinions as to with it's appropriate, whether it's the right thing to do at the right time, with whom he was hazer it or the right people. this issue like a lot of issues involving the president, when you look at the people who are most vocal in their opposition, i'll grant it there's opposition or criticism from both sides, you have to ask yourself, is it really the act that is upsetting these folks? or is this another sort of attempt to try and create the sense that everything the president does is some threat to our democracy. >> let me ask you that because that's a good question here, a fair question here. we're talking about could one who is not experienced as a politician is this just a flub, though. then you have folks on the other hand, even john mccain came out and said this could be damaging to our
6:34 pm
willingness to share this information because we've since learned that this information came from israel, who is one of our allies. those are legitimate concerns. senator mccain has also been vocally against the president. is it flowery rhetoric or is a lot of it rooted in general concern in i think there's a little bit of both there to be perfectly honest. do i think they're over blowing the case, what the president did could engage in information sharing relationships with our allies, perhaps over blowing it a little bit, of course time will tell on what information the president shared with the russian counterparts. but israel came out and declared quite so figures justly that they continue to maintain the united states in high regards. does it appear at least on the surface
6:35 pm
caused any sort of long-term damage with israel. i understand that a lot of what is said to the public may be different than what is shared behind the scenes. but we have to take israel at its face value in terms of what it said and assume that our relationship with them at the very least maintains a very strong one. i can't think you deny and shawn eluded to this, when you have the conflicting messages that come out from hr mcmaster versus last night what the president tweeted today, not everyone in the loop, not counting the people who are getting the message out from the white house don't seem to be on the same page. i think that is what comes off as disingenious to some people. >> i think the president calls it like he sees it. he reported it to the american people as he observed it occurring when he engaged in that conversation last week. i think some of his advisors and
6:36 pm
communications team are probably trying to be a little l more nuanced with their messaging and sometimes that comes across as a conflict and that could lead some people to speculate and to cast, have questions about the veracity of what one side is saying over the other. i think the root of what was said was true and honest. >> scott erickson, thank you for joining us tonight. >> thanks. >> see you next time. i want to he that you some video just into the news room. this shows the aftermath from what we were told was a very violent protest outside the terk kish embassy. take a look. you can see people running across the lawn, police trying to help out. we understand nine people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. commuters should avoid this area. it's near sheraton circle. there are still a large number of protests that are going on there right now. again, this was a fight that brek out in nt fro of the turkish embassy along
6:37 pm
this afternoon. a maryland congressman is now asking a question that some people have said before, is president trump unfit for office? this is from the congress manning's office. this is a bill that the congressman introduced that would assess the mental health of a partnership. this seems odd, but this is rooted in some sort of fact here. well, you know, jamie razz kin says he's heard a lot of jokes about the mental state of the president of the united states, but he is very clear about this. he says this is no joke and he says he has the united states constitution to back him up in this. here's why, the 25th amendment of the united states constitution deals with presidential succession and that is what congressman razz kin is looking at here, how this would work is that if passed, razz kin's bill would enable congress to create
6:38 pm
bipartisan independent panel which would then examine the president and report back on his physical and mental capability to continue in office. that independent bipartisan commission would then report back to congress, both the house and senate would vote on their findings and if they do find that a president, any president is not capable to serve the remainder of their term, well, then, the vice-president would become act aing president. now, there's some reality we need to inject into all of this. look, there are 20 democrats. that's it. who have joined onto this proposal from a liberal maryland democratic congressman. the republicans control both houses up here arrested on an outstanding capital hill. that means there's little to no chance that is going to come up for a vote. congressman razz kin says i know that, i understand the lay of the lapped here. but he says if the country does
6:39 pm
itself in what he calls a constitutional crisis, he says at least this way there is legislation in place that could be acted upon to envoke h this section 4 of the 25th amendment a concern he says that has grown in recent days and especially in light of the firing of the fbi director, the numerous tweet storms that the president has put out and now this controversy and fire storm over the potential leaking of classified information to the russians. here's the congressman. that races, you know, at the very least the profound question of political judgment. maybe a question of divided loyalties and maybe just a question of mental coherence and lieu situated ticketed ticketed evene don't know exactly what's going on but we have to be prepared for every eventuality and believe me it's not just democrats who are asking the question now about the fitness and continuing capacity of the
6:40 pm
president. >> so that's congressman razz kin. we should also point out, though, that before he came a congressman this year jamie razz kin was a law professor, a constitutional law professor. he doesn't have a medical degree. he has not examined president donald trump and says at this point he has not made any determination as to the president's fitness for office. there does happen to be a doctor in the maryland delegation and is that republican andy harris. he has called this a cheap shot at the president for the white house's part, jim and shawn they will not dignify this with a response. all right. thank you very much. we appreciate it. >> voters unhappy with congress woman barbara comstock from virginia. they say she's refusing to attend a face to face town hall with her voters. she is holding a fundraiser but she won't apparently talk to
6:41 pm
congress woman the chance to show up on fox5. we'd love to talk to her. have you seen her. >> i have not seen her h. i was chatting with some of the protestorses, they have not seen here. this is really quiet. trying to get the message across that they do want to have a town hall with congress woman come stack. she might not even hear you or she you, so is your message going to be heard in. >> i think so. we've asked her r repeatedly for a town howl. i don't know. she has been moving on some issues that, in fact, her recent statement today on trump was a good statement for us. we're with indivisible. i have some friends here from the 10g9 district. we want to hear
6:42 pm
only trump and russian but our family's workers rights. >> as i said, a pretty quiet crowd today, but let's come over here much what's your name. >> ual yeah hol come. >> what brings you out here today in here's my question for you. are you worried about protest fatigue? do you think your message and voice would be heard today or would you get lost in a lot of the noise of the protests. >> i hope we won't get lost in the protests. as far as protest fatigue, as long as our representatives continue to avoid us and to ignore our calls for justice there is no question at all that we will get tired of what we're doing and if the government gets tired of not listening to us, then perhaps they will do what we ask and listen and then maybe we can stop protesting for a while. >> let's take you to one more person here today. my question is -- first of
6:43 pm
your name is? a. lee a. >> if there was a town hall, what question would you want her to answer of yours. >> why won't take stand up for us and make the system more affordable as opposed to trying to cut the benefits of the hard working people that ride the system. >> there you have it from a few of the protestors outside today we think barbara comstock is inside at a fundraiser. >> representative comstock we have open chairs here at 35 at 6:30 you paid millions of dollars. we're giving you free opportunity on fox5 because your constituents want to hear from you. you serve the people. we want to hear from you. >> we want to hear from you, too. you can tweet us using the #5@6:30. we'll be right back.

investigation of dnc staffer seth rich, nearly one year after he was killed, a private vasor claims he has evidence that could link rich's murder to his work with the dnc which is at direct odds with what the d.c. police department's investigation found which was that rich was killed in a botched rob rivment marina maracco joins us now with what we learned last night. it could be a big break-in the investigation. >>reporter: it could be and it's the first time that someone say there's confirmation and it's coming from a former fbi director and is sourcing a detectivive who was close to the investigation. he teased, p if you will, to this big break from fox news today that there were more than 40,000 e-mails that fox news says this source found from seth rich to wikileaks. of course the question is where were those e-mails found? where are the computers? as far as we d.c. police sourced information has ly
6:47 pm
that there was only one computer of course living in h 2017. there could be many computers that seth rich had access to. a big question mark as to where that computer is because d.c. \police\police doesn't want to indulge this information that is coming from this private investigator, rod wiehle. rod wiehle is also a contributor to fox news. he is a paid contributor to fox news but he was also involved in this h investigation somehow. he was working with the family. >> rod wiehle has always maintained in the last 30 days that he was hired by seth rich's family. today seth rich's family distanced from that themselves from that notion saying that he was being paid by the third party. today we're learning from seth rich's family confirming that this third party is a anti-inflammatory by the name of ed beau to you ski. et

cultivating a relationship with the rich family grooming them on the idea of an independent investigation. he personally introduced them to the investigator and said he would pay for his services. any claims that he wasn't personally or internationally involved in this is an out right lie. as soon as this information broke in the the last hour, ed beau to you ski has deleted all social media trace. he is also a talking head on fox news. for those of you who don't know who ed beau to you ski is, what do we know about him? a. he's a talk head, he's out of dallas an had some sort of personal interest in this case and he offered his services and also his financial advice to the seth rich family and produced that in the form of rod wiehle.

fox news showing the numbers that are coming from they're saying a federal anonymous source. they're not trying to hold up any investigation. they have laptops and computers, a lot to dig throug. we don't want to buy into any conspiracy theories. they were counting it as soon as it was swirling around online. when you have some information coming out, you get it out there and see where it goes. >> of course we're going to stay on top of this. still ahead tonight, jack burkman is here. he, too, is trying to get to the bottom of seth rich's murder. we'll be right back.

he was a shooting gallery in those days. my mother harped on safety. i just pictured my mother getting the call that mary rich got, how terrible that would be. there are so many people that get calls every single day, folks in our area. why this case. >> we're all a political fraternity. i have young democrats, young social lists that work for me. we're another all one big political family. when you got involved, i remember getting the release. you put up some reward money. >> yes. >> a little bit down the road you decided you wanted to help set up an investigative unit to get to the bottom of this. where does that stand right nowncht it's growing, the profiling profile is in klehr done, virginia, not far from where we live. we have

investigator, we have a forensic psychologist, we have a team it's become a 24/7 deal. in about two weeks we'll be releasing our first wave of findings. you heard the report that marina release. do you know rod wiehle. >> i do not. >> you have nothing to do oh oampleghts we have nothing to do with any of that. >> do you buy what he says, that there are these hidden computer -- >> i called upon rod or the fbi or wikileaks or whoever has these e-mails, if they're out there, we want to see thesm we're looking for evidence. if there is anything out there, i can tell you we're very close to being able to rule this out as a street crime. i think this was a hit. i think we can pretty much say for sure and our findings will reflect this -- >> what evidence do d.c. think this w
6:54 pm
>> i think they're wrong. gold chain around the neck, credit cards, cash, wallet, mostly shot in the back. seth was many things, he was not a free som guy. i don't think that anybody thought seth rich was going to chance after him and hurt them. a robbery it was not. >> you do not know seth rich personally. >> i have never met him. >> have you talked to the rich family. >> i haven't talked to them about n about a month or so. >> they've been very quick disdisburse the conspiracy theories as well. >> yes, they have. we want to follow the evidence, whether it's a conspiracy theory or some other kind of theory we want to follow the evidence. i don't have any inclination, my job is to l follow evidence. is this about politics four? >> no. if it were i wouldn't be doing it. we've had a guy, you know this h, a former us intel guy
6:55 pm
we're investigating that. we investigate things that could be potentially favorable to the trump administrations and things that could be against them. jack burkman, r, thank you very much. we could talk about this for a while, but we have to go. good seeing you. we'll be right back. vo: at dominion, we have a long history of providing reliable energy and that'll never change. what is changing, is our name to dominion energy. it's a reflection of our commitment to energy innovation and renewable sources like solar, wind... and cleaner energy like natural gas. and we'll continue to innovate, upgrade technology, protect our environment and serve our communities. dominion energy. more than a new name, a new way of seeing energy.
