meantime as we approach memorial day, maryland state troopers are remembering a you us marine killed by a hit and run driver. to this day investigators are still looking for the driver who struck him. this happened in 2015 along route 15 in frederick county 21 year old farrell was killed while estopped to tep help someone with their car. two police officers apparently were justified in shooting the suspect involved. eighteen year old lewis mere leno was shot multiple times. he's charged alluding and malicious wounding of an officer. a hearing is set for him in july. >> we have our continuing coverage on the terror attack in manchester, england. the death toll standing at 22 after a suicide attacker

break down of the president's proposed budget. hey, jim, omb director nick mulvaney he took the bowed yum today at the white house briefing room. sean spicer he is on the trip abroad with the president. in his h opening remarks he said this should be called a taxpayer first budget. he also said some people have criticized this budget for not being compassionate, but to the trump administration it is compassion because compassionate shouldn't be paid to those receiving funds, but those who support and supply federal funds, if you will, meaning the taxpayer. let's break it down for you and look at some of the highlights that mulvaney brought to us today. the first thing, this idea of trump anom nix, the budget relies on the assumption that there will be a sustained economic growth of 3 percent. mulvaney called that trump he nom iks and said

unreasonable assumption. the budget assumes only 1.9 percent economic growth. social security, retirement and medicare, the proposed budget doesn't touch either of those and finally let's look at campaign promises. the administration is touting the budget as one that keeps campaign promises, increasing funding to national security, border security, law enforcement, veterans, school choice and parental paid leave. so when the event opened for questions i asked mulvaney about one of the president's most controversial campaign promises, the wall. does he think the funding will stay in the final budget? take a listen. what are your assumptions for the budget in reference to the wall? >> we are absolutely dead serious about the wall. in fact, after taking care of the national security and the vets my guess is it's in the president top three. in fact, i know for a fact that it is. we've made that a very clear to

while we did not get as much money as we wanted for border security, we did get a lot. we will see increased border security between today and the end of the calendar year. >> now, of course people have problems with this budget. looking at significant cuts to medicaid, cuts to social programs like snap or more commonly referred to as food stamps, cuts to environmental programs. i caught up with senator chris van holland today to speak to him about maybe the expected cuts because as you know this is just a proposed budget. when we looked back to the objection to the form bus budget, 2017, the president's budget is not what we saw ultimately passed in the house and senate. so i asked van holland about that. he said republicans and democrats they worked together. he expects that to happen
