today marks one week since a car hit and killed a six-year-old boy crossing living ton road in southeast. family neighbors say they have long complained about drivers speeding down that road. >> city leaders promised to started a dressing the problem over this week. annie this morning live in the neighborhood to follow up this morning. a and knee. >> reporter: hey, good morning to all of you. residents tell us that for years now they have been demanding for some action, safety measuring to into place along living ton road, whether be a crosswalk or speed bumps, something to slow people down. let me tell you we've been out here since 4:00 o'clock this morning. we have seen plenty of cars zipping past us our crew car here well beyond the 25 miles per hour zone. and neighbors say that this is the situation. they've constantly see speeding on this stretch of roadway. this is where six-year-old xavier lucky was struck and kill last wednesday on his sixth birthday. this is the 4300 block of living ton road. as of this morning, the driver who hit him isn't facing any charges. now if you look straight ahead there you

out over the weekend installed a new speed sign just beyond this memorial for xavier and so when children are present now, the speed limit here is 15 miles per hour and then 25 miles per hour at all other times. we can tell you that there's a big playground across the street on the objection zen run park also an apartment complex here couple of schools nearby. so this is an area that's heavily populated with kids. ddot end stalled several cables throughout living ton road. this is going to be used as data collection for speed and volume and once they get all this collected they'll analyze it, and determine the feasibility of a crosswalk and speed bumps on the street. we're told this could take up to 30 days. residents say, look, lowering the speed is a good start but certainly not enough. take a listen. >> from the very beginning you can always see cars coming around the corner just not paying attention to how fast they going. >> what would you like to see done? >> speed bumps

memorial holiday weekend with a week of grilling out in the fox lot. monday we showed you ways to step up your side game. yesterday we were all about the ribs. and now this morning we're moving on to barbecue staple with a spicy different. for details erin comb mow is in the fox lot with the pros from reds table. isn't we have kevin from reds out in reston. i mean thank you so much for having us. >> thank you for having me. >> we're so excited you're here today and making a really special version of grilled chicken it's maple sura chi grilled chicken. >> this is chick with a twit. >> it's very simple. taking one part maple syrup i prefer vermont style especially darker amber for sugar content and flavor. one part syrup to one part siracha. people love it or haven't experienced it yet. >> if you haven't experienced you definitely need to. >> it has a little bit of a tank to it. i call it a little bit of a flare tabasco. >> exactly. nice tie style hot chili sauce. >> you mick it together.
