[ laughter ] >> isn't that how it work with most spouses pass away? you keep the in laws i guess? >> oh, boy. >> they don't go away. >> how does the dynamic work out with the show. i play ricky cooper i'm an ex baseball player widower with three daughters and raquel plays the wonderful rosa who is my mother-in-law, and on the very first episode we wake up -- we wake up. ricky wakes up but we start off ricky's 40th birthday and he's 40 which a lot of men can't really -- don't like to deal with. and his daughters are deciding that it's time for him, it's been three and a half years since isabella his wife passed away and they teal like it's time for him to get back out and there get out of the this groove of wanting to take care of them. on top of that rosa decides that she's moving

and so i'm kind of stuck on my own now with my three daughters ranging in age from 15, 12 and eight. >> i like -- rosa likes to have a party life. she likes to date and go out in the evening and she dolls herself up and they like to catch her when she's coming in at 6am and razz her and you know give her a lot of trouble and grief. >> laugh la. >> she's just -- will we see this happening to her and she's pretty -- she's a pretty good egg about the whole thing in the end she's going i can't, you know, i do not need to take this walk of shame through my granddaughters chiding every time i decided -- i decide i want to have little fun at ni night. [ laughter ] >> you know i'm still alive and kicking. but i'm basically there to help him with the girls and i'm cooking and i'm even cleaning and things like that but i haven't given up the fact that i am single woman and i am interested in finding someone special. >> i lov

>> i think that just -- >> everybody has got to live their life even rosa. >> exactly much it's not just the power of being abled to that. but i love the fact that you just take it and run with it. so barry for you, though, you are sharing your life now with these four ladies rosa and your three daughters. who ends up giving you the best advice? >> wow. who ends up giving me the best advice? you know i don't know if we've actually scene that quite yet. >> don't you think audrey has all the best advice? >> audrey, gigi played by audrey small man she's kind of like the brain yack daughter. she does give me good advice. i feel the advice so far in this first season i never want to give away too much i think the vice everybody is giving ricky is the advice that they, hooks they think he should be with. and so -- >> yeah. >> you know, ricky is sort of taking advice some of its probably good advice, but i don't think he's got the proper advice quite yet except that, you know what, it's messy out

back out there again. but the advice with women i think it's pretty much between his family with rosa with the girls with his brother with his work family, they are kind of giving advice of what, who they they he should be with but i don't think that's necessarily the right person. >> the girls and i know that he's a great guy and we, he just needs a little push. so we have to nudge him in the direction of all these very nice looking girls who seem to be good material for him, and give eight chance. he's a little reluctant to do that. i think probably because he was very much in love with his wife and because once you're a widower, i think it changes i was little. he's kind of still -- he doesn't in a funny way want to replace the memory of my daughter who passed away and was a loss for all of us. he doesn't want to replace that memory and that p

had from a very early age. he doesn't want to replace that with something new. >> sure. >> you kind of understand that because he's a sensitive guy. he's not just a big, you know, paluko. there's a lot of guys great big guise that bup and right through the house gone get their stuff and then get the heck out of dodge as quickly as possible but he's like a nice decent feeling thinking guy. >> barry you see how much support there is. i can feel the love already from this family. right? i mean you guise -- you're there for each other. >> we do. we adore him. >> this is raquel. when it's rosa and ricky on screen it's a whole different thing. this is mazing. i need you before the show. when i first saw it i was like is this a hologram. >> it's really him. >> it's erie. >> keith, tell me about the character you play in this mo movie. >> i play guy named etan gregory one of his first managers before he went to death row. introduced him digital underground and i call hit the voice of reason. kind of relationship that the outside world didn't see but they'll get a chance to see dynamic of that relationship with this movie. >> what is it about this particular movie that drew to you this role? >> well i mean it's 2pac. anything 2pac affiliate especially me being a musician you jump at the opportunity. he's been such a huge influence on me as an artist as musician. so when the opportunity presented itself i jump at it just like every other actor involved in the project. >> now, when they see -- people see this movie, what are some of the take aways they'll have from it? i men is it just going to be some of the -- most of the stuff we already know about 2pac or is there some other inside revealing stuff we'll see? >> i think it will be combination of both. of course the relationship like

the first time the public will see. >> i didn't know about that. >> myself either until i got into the movie but i think the things we do know about we kind of give very in depth idea and description of what really happened and kind of his mindset music was really a back drop for him as person. i mean he lived a very highly concentrated live in short amount of time coming from revolutionaries and really having a purpose and just being outspoken, you know, rebel so to speak. kind of gives you 360-degree of what 2pac shakur represented. >> this is movie it's about hiphop it's 2pac shakur music. >> that's right. >> you have music as well. was your music inspired by your work on this project? >> every project that i do us usually inspires me music cal lee. i have a new album called love epi sod dick. that's playing right there. >> we're on pope in here. we got you ready. >> i did song not on the album shout out to the pain with myself

group that will come out the same day as the movie. definitely influenced me musically. there's no way around it. >> when people hear their music, r and b, combination of r and b hiphop or something completely different. >> it's soul music i like to call it it gives you an idea of the '90's but packaged damaged in millennium feel. it's me sing hemoglobin lost people don't necessarily know me half the world knows me as an act the other half knows me as musician and this is the first time i'm getting a chance to reveal who i really am music where it starts and ends with me. that's what made me move to monthly hollywood actually. >> what other particular projects you working on television wise or musically. tours, anything like that. >> i'm spot dating tonight we're at the covenant house which is i'm in town for at the howard theater. >> yup. >> which is wrap around facility for homeless teens from 12 to 24 i'm really excited about being a part of that movement tonight the gala. you can catch me there. if you can get tickets at
