montgomery county and parts of northern virginia. warrington still seeing showers. that should end within the next half hour. and severe thunderstorm warnings and 1 to 5:30 eastern shore and caroline, kept, queen anne county bringing heavy rain and lightning to places like chestertown and rootsburg now and this storm and all of these storms actually produced wind gusts in excess of 60 miles an hour around the area. that's what you can expect across southern maryland a warning parts of calvert. charles and st. mary. again the main issue has been ponding on roadways and a lot of rain quickly. a top of lightning. also wind gusts that have left trees down in its wake. in d.c. showers, heavy band moving northeastern to tacoma parts and northern prince george county. these storms while fast moving did deliver a lot of water quickly. 24 hour rain totals estimated off radar in the estimate of 1 to close to" north east of winchester.

meantime we have update on murder of teenagener fairfax county. investigators are calling it road rage and as of right now they do not believe hassan was targeted because of race or religion but family and friends in the muslim community believe she was targeted. they want justice. kristin leon is live. you talked to the family today. what did they have to say? >> reporter: i did speak with the family, today, jim. before i get to that i want to tell you about the suspect. he appeared in court today appeared for arraignment and again is charged in the murder of 17-year-old hasanin. investigators tell me they're not calling this a hate crime there's not enough evidence to support that now. i spoke with the father today and he believes his daughter was targeted because of reledgeon and he hopes that no other parent ever has to go through what he and his wife have to endure the pain and suffering for the

"fox5" at 10. jim. >> the three men accused of killing two montgomery county teens night before high school graduation will re345eu7b behind bars. >> a judge ordered men held without bond at a hearing today and described murders as brutal with a fair amount of overkill and we're learning about the motive. paul wagner reports. >> reporter: acourt affidavit filed in the case satisfies najjar was a drug dealer that used and sold marijuana. it also says he may have stolen drugs and an ipad from woman named car ayenez.who is she. she's girlfriend of one of the three men who is charged in this case. antemurders of the two boys that night in montgomery village, was nothing less than revenge. >> christine and shadi came to the courthouse with heavy hearts of what the judge said was a deliberately planned brutal murder. neither believes what's written

garcia. he told police he didn't know najjar but admitted he graduated from northwest high school. it was not until late last week police got the break they needed when a witness came forward with names and said murders were pay back for a robbery. >> you know i can not characterize this crime. obviously i will say to you that in court judge moffett, when he set the bond as no bond in the court the judge called it brought ali r and reflective and overkill. >> shadi najjar and artem ziberov were shot multiple times by three gunmen. the 18-year-old is not named in court affidavit as having anything to do with the robbery or drugs. >> in court today the prosecutor in the case said that on the day of the arrest one of the men was in a car way

what happened there. >> right, jim, sarah, today's ceremony unfortunately has been postponed. and they hoped to he introduce baseball field and sports complex to the thousands of kids that play on it every week that this is still a safe and happy place. however, the rain did rain out that event. earlier today the city recognized many alexandria police, fire and emergency personnel who helped save lives and showed courage under fire. and at today's press conference alexandria police released these pictures of the three officers who were first on the scene. and putting their lives on the line running toward the bullets to stop the shooter. james hodgkin son the first two are rock is, officer nicole bataglia on the force for a year and a half and alexander jensen has been with the department for two years and then finally, officer kevin jobe after veteran of 16 years on the force. and the police chief says all three officers were on scene

dispatched call and chief says when officer batali arrived she ran toward the gunfire becoming pinned and taking shelt area louing the other two officers jenson and jobe to come in while the attention was focused on her. while in gunfire jobe and jensen were able to neutralize the situation and suspect wept down. all this within less than five minute after that first dispatched call went out. also today, other fire and ems personnel that responded were thanked and recognized for quick and brave work treating all injured including shooter. mean while it's about almost a week sint the shoot and this del ray neighborhood and city of dooe is ready to 34506 on. >> i talked to each of the officers several times and starts with how are you doing xing i mean what they went through is not something most people go through. not this in this business. we train for it all the time. they're doing fine. and they're good officers and they're strong
