"fox5 local news at 10" starts right now. >> and we begin with breaking news tonight out of prince george county. sky fox over the scene of a fatal shooting in the 6400 block of pennsylvania avenue in forestville. >> now, officers were called to the apartment complex 8 p.m. thi evening and discord a man with a gun shot wound. right now it appears to be a fairly large crime scene. can can see police vehicles and first responders vehicles across the scene. sky fox moves around and we'll stay on top of the story and keep you updated with any new information. >> and we also have developing news tonight from virginia. a tragic train accident near mannasas park claimed the life of a 13-year-old girl. thank you for joining us i'm tony perkins. >> i'm shawn yancy. >> the accident shut down part of the vre mannasas line right during

police worked to figure out what happened. "fox5" lauren demarco is liver with the details. lauren. >> tony, shawn, police have not yet identified this young girl. we know she was a student at lake braddock secondary school and she was oylt hiking with family members when hit by the train. >> there's a loft people, it's summertime. that like to go walking and everything and that's just a place where a lot of teenagers go to have fun. >> a place kids go to hang out by the water became the scene of a horrible accident. a 13-year-old girl was playing with her cousin on the vre train tracks over bull run when she was hit and killed. bull run is tributary that feeds into the aqua quan river and area backs into a golf course. >> we can feel the train from the green and we're 3-400 yards away you can feel the vibration on the green. >> hear it of course. >> hear it for sure. >> apparently the kids heard it too and

a source tells "fox5" the girl's 22-year-old brother ran to him. he and the younger boy jumped the large gap to the opposite tracks and it's long way down to the water and the 13-year-old girl was scared to jump and started running and train operator saw her and slowed. there was not enough time. she was hit. the girl's brother dragged her down to the water trying to get to his car. vre workers ran from the then stopped train with their medical equipment and tried to perform cpr but the girl did not survive. >> sad to hear a 13-year-old girl lost her life. >> first responders from fairfax, prince william county and mannasas responded to the scene. some had to run on foot for nearly two miles to reach the area this happened. both side of the tracks were shut down hours while the crash reconstruction team investigated and caused major delays on the vre mannasas line and they're saying they plan for everything to be

say there is no credible evident he was associated with any gangs. maryland neighborhood goes up in flames and investigators say spontaneous combustion is the cause. "fox5" tisha lewis is joining us live from rockville with the story, tisha, what happened? >> well, tony, no doubt things definitely went wrong here in this rockville community and instead of experiment there was a house fire here at this home. it left the homeowner injured and also the house uninhabitable and unsafe sign was removed. all this is result many of us would not think twice about dumbing oilly rags after a home project. it caused a blaze in this case. >> by wednesday night this middle of the road townhouse in rockshire neighborhood was boarded up and secured after calls came in reporting a fire around noon. david and linda pile live next door. >> we just came home ape walked out on the deck and i saw some black smoke and i told

she was in the house. and she called immediately. >> ultimately more than 40 firefighters responded to extinguish flames parked by discarded oilly rags and they burned ten minutes leaving behind debris and more than 20,000 in damage. >> i think they've been doing remodeling in the basement part of their house. >> i was extremely stressed out because i -- it was right here be side of the desk and the flames kept getting high ter was going quickly. >> this charred siding, insulation and melted grill are aftermath. all reportedly started bit liquid left in some rags. >> the home owner apparently left oilly rags in back of house and patio area. i guess the warm conditions were just right that the warm sun and low humidity resulted in spontaneous combustion of the oilly rags which ignited. >> it's not a first. >> about

d.c. and this is not the first time pamphlets have appeared in the area. marina marraco appeared live in global park. at this point do police have any leads? >> well, it seems like they've come out here and documented shawn but it seems like this may be a case of first amendment right. however, of course, neighbors hearsay when they saw this on their front door step they were shocked to see the anti-sematic rhetoric and however pamphlets like this circulated through the district for years now. >> and i felt angry and i felt offended and i felt scared and i felt sad. >> this two-sided pamphlet of nonsensical and hatred rhetoric was left on every door step this tuck away street in glover park. lauery's family is jewish and it's mostly anti-sematic and she thinks they were not targetd it was targeted to all different racial
