"fox5" lindsey watts is live on the scene with the latest details. lipcy. >> reporter: sarah, shawn, we're here 29 and eary streets in southeast. this is where police say a driver hit a bicyclist and then just kept ongoing. we'll give you a closer look at the bike right now. you can see the condition. this is a very serious acc accident. the bike here in the roadway along with a shoe, a baseball hat,

we think may be some debris from the vehicle that hit the bikeist. we will show you video from what we favorite rivd. the cyclist was taken to the hospital and i got off the phone with d.c. police spokesman. he did not have any update on the condition of the bike riders but we know police are treating this as a serious accident. it happened around 6:15 ton tonight. so this intersection has been blocked for about four hours now. investigators have been out here blocking the intersection and they have been taking pictures of this crash scene. the major accident unit is here helping with this. and i asked the police spokesman if he had any information about the driver or car that that person was in. we do not have any details just yet. it's unknown if speed could have played a role in this neighbors i've been speaking to say this can be a dangerous area with people going too fast and not stopping at the stop sign

years ago returned to old hospital in the bronx and went on deadly shooting rampage. dr. henry beloy killed one drr and wounded six others before turning gun on himself. the scene outside bronx lebanon hospital was chaotic as gunfire erupted in halls. police are trying to figure out a motive. according to associated press he resigned in 2015 after fired after accused of sexual harassment. again he returned today with assault rifle hidden up a lab coat. >> this was horrific situation unfolding in the middle of a place that people associate with care and comfort situations that came out of nor. but even in the midst of this horror, there were many, many acts of heroism. bronx lebanon hospital is more than a century old. it has nearly 1,000

prison. >> texas police officer was killed in shootout way burglary suspect. it happened yesterday san antonio. officer miguel mereno were trying to question a man. the man shot the officer in the head and he was later -- the man was later killed in shootout with police. officer marino was nine year veteran of the force and his partner was hurt and expected to survive. >> police and federal agents are working together to stop the violence in chicago. they formed a new strike force focus on getting illegal guns off the streets. changes follow president tr trump's tweets threatening to send in the feds because the number of shootings was too high there. more than 1700 people were shot this year and that's 200 fewer than this time last year. >> and weeks after he was elected to the white house, president trump claimed millions of people voted illegally in the november election and that contributed to loss in the popular vote. president force
