a father of four found shot to death inside of his own car on one of the busiest road in the dmv. now the search for the gunman. >> why a local lawmaker is getting fired up about fireworks. the news at 10:00 starts now. 2003 begin tonight with a story that will make your stomach turn. this former teacher's assistant and track coach is accused. >> this is carlos deangelo bell. so far investigators have identified at least 10 victims. >> and now the fbi has joined the investigation. lindsay watts is live. >> carlos is being held here at the detention center without bond. those0

identified now have to be tested for hiv. investigators say so far two have been tested, both found not to be infected. police want you to take a good look at bell. they do believe there could be additional victims. police say middle school boys were the primary target of 30-year-old carlos deangelo bell. he's accused of using his position as a school aide and coach to molest kids and make child pornography. >> some of the evidence found included graphic images of bell sexually assaulting victims. some of the crimes appear to have been committed on school property and others at his home in waldorf. >> we just said hi and he waved and that was it. >> reporter: neighbors said he seemed like a nice guy. >> all i can say is

you never know. >> i have young boys. >> reporter: bell was employed by charles county schools from fall 2014 to december 2016. he was an instructional assistant, a track coach and he worked briefly at two additional schools. >> clearly we have work to do to ensure that this will never happen again. >> reporter: fox 5 asked the school superintendent how someone could sexually assault children during a school day inside a school. >> if you don't think i've asked myself that thousands of times since learning, you're wrong. it is devastating to us that something like this could take place in a classroom, in a school building, where adults are charged with taking care of children. >> reporter: police believe there could be more victims than the 10 they've identified so far. they say parents need to talk to their kids if they've had any contact

>> it just brings a reality check because you see a lot of stuff on the news, you see a lot of things on social media and you never think it could happen to you or in your neighborhood or to your children or to your family. >> reporter: if you have information about this case or concerns about your own child, the number you want is 1-800-call-fbi. the investigation into bell first started about seven months ago. a parent was checking their child's phone and found inappropriate texts from bell. at that time police got a warrant, they seized bell's electronic devices, but it's taken all this time to search those devices. police say because of current resources at the state forensic lab. bell eventually was arrested just this past friday and on the same day indicted by a grand jury. lindsay

>> this one happened in prince george county. he was an aid and a volunteer. he will be sentenced next month. he faces up to 100 years in prison. >> the search continues tonight for the gunman who shot and killed a man on the beltway in prince george's county. he was found shot to death saturday night. his white mercury grand marquis was blocking a lane of the outer loop near pennsylvania avenue. his daughter says he had a part of their home earlier was returning home. he called his family to say he was about 15 minutes away but he never made it. >> the most caring dad you could ever think. he was very caring. i'm going to miss our talks. we would literally talk every day. he would ask me to come in his room and have a little chat literally every day. i'm going to miss them. >> we're confident that somebody had

again, that the beltway at that time of the night is extremely busy. >> police are now offering up to a $25,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction. >> meanwhile a man to team by immigration after making a daring escape in northern virginia. he broke free from ice agents as they were transporting him near dulles. they did find him a short time later. he was first arrested in louden county but he was transforward to ice custody. hundreds of protesters ralying in front of the federal building in baltimore this afternoon. they were supporting an nap policeman detained by immigration authorities for months. he came

including kellie pickler and trace adkins. speaking of fireworks it is warm around here tonight. a being question of what we'll see for the fourth. >> i get it you're outside all day long. we do have thunderstorms in the forecast for the second half of the day. so if you're going to be on the national mall or wherever your fireworks plans are, keep in mind there will be pop-up thunderstorms: so let's look at what's going on outside right now. 83 degrees, a rain-free evening. it was a dry, sunny and warm afternoon around the district. pretty typical july weather. humidity wasn't terrible. 74 out at dulles, 77 frederick and 79 in annapos.

here's what we're looking at satellite and radar showing a lot of cloud cover. all of the showers along the cold front have stayed off towards our north but it is that cold front that's going to move southward tomorrow and that will impact our chances for thunderstorms. we'll get into the 60s north and west, 75 in washington. so what to expect, you start off tomorrow cloudy, a little more humid, temperatures quickly jump into the 80s. the parade will be fine, early afternoon rain free it's the isolated thunderstorm threat as we get into the evening. i will detail those chances hour by hour, nothing too widespread however we've still got some in the forecast coming up. >> we have everything you need to know to make your july 4th celebration a great one. >> and as we get set to mark

planned vacation and physical therapy media caught a politician keeping his word. >> wimbledon is under way in london. a reporter asked about a car accident that she was involved in that killed a 78-year-old man. his family recently filed a civil suit against her. >> there are really no words to describe how devastating and -- yeah. i'm completely speechless and it's just -- yeah. i mean, i'm just -- >> venus posted a facebook message days ago explaining how devastated she was about the accident. we have an update tonight on governor tiger woods he checked out of a clinic. woods said doctors, family and friends will continue to help him deal with the issue.

arrested him on a dui charge. it turns out there was no alcohol in his system. woods says his behavior was due to an unexpected reaction to prescription medications. he is now scheduled to appear in court on wednesday. >> the man who inspired the ice bucket challenge is in a boston hospital tonight. he was just 27 when he was diagnosed wavelength als a couple of years ago. it was he who was behind the ice bucket challenge back in 2014. it became a viral sensation as family and friends challenged each other. it raised about $115 million. i've got to tell you i was in boston when that happened. really just rallied so many people inspired so many people and there were rumors today he wasn't doing well and the family got in front and said what's going on. can you stomach 21 burgers in 10 minutes? >> no, i don't think i can. >> i knew you wouldn't touch

i'm jim lokay. >> and i'm shawn yancy. we begin with an accusation. >> police say he sexually assaulted multiple young boys and he's also hiv positive. lindsay watts on this story for us tonight. >> reporter: such a horrifying case. tonight 30-year-old carlos deangelo bell is being held here without bond. investigators say so far they have identified 10bys who were sexually assaulted by bell, middle school-aged boys. kids now have to be tested for hiv. police believe there could be even more victims. bell had worked at four different schools between fall 2014 and december 2016. police say some of the alleged assaults happened inside benjamin stoddard middle school and bell made recordings found by investigators. >> right now the search continues in prince george's county for the person who shot and killed a man

you had to go back to work, it was sunny and hot humidity wasn't so bad. 83 in washington, 79 annapolis. mid 70s north and west where it is a fairly comfortable summer evening. we've got a cold front bringing a few isolated showers across pennsylvania, ohio towards our north and we've got low pressure getting organized down around arkansas and the combination of those two systems closing in on the district is going to increase our thunderstorm chances for tomorrow. so let's start you off with tomorrow morning 9:00 a.m. just some clouds around a little sticky but nothing too bad. i think we stay rain-free through the early afternoon. but with the heat of the day and the approaching front, thunderstorms expected to pop up. not wide spread. this is not a long line of storms and nothing severe expected. with these pulse type storms you can't pinpoint where they're going to be. if you're under one of these it could be a soaking rain at least briefly but they're widely scattered and this is at

hopefully it's a long holiday weekend for you and or if not it's your friday night and tomorrow you're off. it is a quiet night right now. no thunderstorms all day we had a dry one, nice summer afternoon with temperatures reaching 91 here in the district. weather headlines it will be quiet as we head into tonight but tomorrow will be a different story. not a wide spread event just enough for a chance. staying quiet warm overnight with temperatures falling back into the 70s. more humidity going to feel hot out there. when is it not on the fourth of july but it will be again tomorrow. afternoon thunderstorms are possible. these are pop-up, these are widely scattered, but the timing on these if they're right over you when you're outdoors, not ideal. storms are more likely wednesday, thursday and friday. 83 degrees out here in washington, 80 in baltimore, 79 in annapolis, 76 in gaithersburg, in frederick it's a little more comfortable, 73 dl, 74 out of dulles and for our out of

warm and stayed warm at night. clouds overhead right now, cold front to our north bringing shower activity across pennsylvania. so the combination of those two frontal boundaries closing in on dc is going to allow for the chance of thunderstorms tomorrow. overnight tonight 75 in dc, mid to upper 60s north and west are your low temperatures. here's what i was talking about in between the two fronts you'll notice the humidity and cloud cover increase for tomorrow it will be very warm. as we get into the afternoon, the storms start to pop up. nothing severe but they can bring some heavy rain. temperatures into the 80s to the low 90s. tomorrow afternoon we're looking at 91 here in dc, 86 in annapolis, a little cooler by the water as always and north and west we are looking at mid to upper 80s. not excessively hot but with the humidity it will feel warmer. show you when to expect the thunderstorms. quiet overnight tomorrow morning if you're heading out

8:00 a.m. we start off with sunshine for the parade, you're fine. don't think we see any showers until at least mid afternoon but when we do they'll blossom between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. putting them right over the metro area. don't think we'll get through the day completely rain-free. pop-up thunderstorms lead to the north later on this evening, 7:00 p.m. showers north of washington. it looks like they'll stay there. we could have some downpours with these but the best chance during fireworks time is north of dc and west of dc along the mountains. that would say if this is correct over the mall we're fine after about 5 clock. 2-day forecast, stray thunderstorm for tomorrow, 91 degrees. storms are more likely on a cloudier wednesday and that's the case as we head into thursday as well. 91 tomorrow the temperatures take a bit of a hit on wednesday, thursday friday we start off with rain and slowly clear out, 92 degrees it will be a warm one. next weekend actually looking
