were recorded having sex with boys inside a classroom. we're learning a little bit more about him and the work he did here in charles county. today, we learned that he was a coach for a brief period of time with an amateur team called the comets, a track and field team that operates in charles county. he worked for a before or after program at a couple of elementary schools. the sheriff's office said today they're still going deep into the investigation as it enters week two. >> the president of the comets of charles county issued this today to fox 5. the comets have been in constant communication with the authorities providing them with the information they need to conduct their investigation. we send our deepest sympathy and prayers to the families affecte. the unclear at this point if any of the boys bell coached with the comets were victims of sexual assault. investigators still continue to review

30-year-old's electronic devices and interview boys he may have had contact with. according to the sheriff's office, bell sexual assaulted some of his victims inside stoddert middle school in waldrf. as well as inside his home in joe hannah court. they were videotaped according to the sheriff. he's accused of assaulting boy whose would have attended sixth be r seventh and eighth grades. we learn bell worked for a third party contractor and before or after care at j p ryan and william wade elementary schools. he was employed by alpha best in the fall of 2015. he also worked briefly in 2008 for the county government as a facility attendant. he worked as a track coach as la play ta and how we learned hollywood a coach at a variety of locations in the

>> i got a complaint today from a parent who said that there was no letter sent out to the parents here at stoddert middle school letting them know that bell had been separated from his job and told not to come on to the campus. we had learned that he had been the coach of the track team at la play ta high school and letters were sent to the members of the track team. he once the principal and coach all spoke with the members of the team. that's how they finally first got ton bell that he had allegedly sent a sexually explicit text messages to a member of the track team. that's how they initial learned that bell might be into something that he shouldn't have been involved in. that's what we learned today and that's why no letter was sent out here at stoddert elementary. let's give you a recap of the places we know now that he has worked here

recent years in 2008 he worked for the county briefly as facility tend pendant. he worked as an after and before care attendant. and he had been an assist coach with the comets. we'll continue to work this story and have more as the days progress, paul wagner live in waldorf, paul wagner fox 5 local n news. there are at least seven shootings in dc and maryland that happened overnight. two of those shootings were deadly. one of those homicides happened in the district. police say someone shot a man to death around 12:30 this morning, it happened along gall street in southwest. so far no arrests.

in the district, dc still looking for the gunman who shoot a victim inside a second floor around 4:00 this morning at the cascade epas in the 4200 block of 6 and street southeast. no word on the identity or condition. a second deadly shooting now under investigation this one in maryland in prince george's county. investigator it's say someone shot and killed a man around 1:00. that happened on the 2500 block of darryl drive in suitland also no word on a suspect or a motive. police still sure if the rash of shootings overnight are connected. people in dc. specifically video of dozens of people shooting each other with paint ball guns on the streets in southeast dc. the problem is, it's illegal. fox 5 kristen leone live at metro headquarters, and it's a pretty dangerous game these people are playing. >> reporter: that's right. and again, it is an

police. and essentially based on what we saw and what you're about to see here, again, what we saw online is it looks like a call of duty type of warfare, a video game type waging on the streets in southeast dc. in particular, the in the area of benning terrace. check it out. >> he going down, he going down. >> reporter: you can hear the activity and see about a dozen older guys or so, shooting from the roofs of that complex right there near benning terrace and if you take a look closely in that video, you can see that someone or couple people they appear to be shooting their paint ball guns from the sun roofs of their cars. again, dangerous if you happen to be in that area. now, some neighbors we spoke to surprisingly tell us that this isn't a problem for them. they say that their neighborhood is a family friendly community.

this is fox 5 local news at 5:00. your headline at the half. in prince william's county police arrestd for allegedly inappropriately touching a family member, sarah calado was charged with penetrating a 5-year-old boy with some sort of object back on june 10th, the victim told one of his teachers who contacted child protective services. being held without bond. in prince george's county. police investigating a deadly shooting, one of the victims, demarco company robinson stumbled into a local hospital yesterday afternoon. died from his injuries. a second suffered nonlife-threatening injuries. investigators believe the two victims were shot inside a car near a store along land over road. so far no arrests dc police launched a mor

letter that each state received. now, it first asks open-ended questions about the current state of voting in that state. any potential for voter fraud. any information like that. but where states seem to be taking issue is when they ask for personal information about the voter. to be clear, the letter explicitlily states they would like to see the information if it is already publicly available. let's take through some things the commission would like to see. first and last name, birth date, the last four digits of your social security number, voter history, whether or not you are are felon. again, the letter states, if this information is currently public, then it goes on to say that it will make it public again. now, maryland is one of the states that takes issue with this request. i sat down with maryland's attorney general and i simply asked the question, if this

sexually assaulting several students. paul wagner is standing by live in waldorf with the details. paul? >> reporter: shawn and marina we're learning more about where carlos bell had access to other children other than here at stoddert middle school. where investigators say he had sexually assaulted young boys. we now know that he had coached at a track club here in charles county. we know that he worked in before and after care at two elementary schools here in the county. and we also know that he worked for the county as a facilities attendant. investigators are asking for more help. the president of comets of charles county issued this statement to fox 5. the comets of charles county have been in constant communication with the authorities providing them with the information they need to conduct their investigation.
