this is fox5 local news at ten. first tonight at ten, a shooting in maryland leaves two dead. what we're learning on this breaking situation. a father of five killed in d.c. tonight his family is coming together as a search for a suspect continues. it was a beautiful weekend, but some who ther weather, even who ther headed our way. first we gin with the breaking news.

i'm lauren demarco and i'm marina maracco. two dead this morning. this is all happening near the poppy's restaurant at the 4600 block in suitland. that's where we find lindsay watts with more details on what all happened. >>reporter: there are still a lot of police officers here, a huge area blocked off by crime tape, a lot still going on tonight. this is where two men were shot and killed earlier and we found out from police that this happened in an alleyway between these businesses over here. not too far from the pop eyes but it was actually in the alleyway that these men were shot. at this point it's not clear if the victims were the shooting at each other or if there was somebody else involved . there is no suspect information, no information on a motive. we'll show you some video from when we first arrived . this happened around seven:30, initially police said it was a double shooting with one dead,

ago we found out the second victim also died after being taken to the hospital. first reports said that this happened inside the pop eye's restaurant, but police have clarified that saying after the shooting one of the victims ran inside the pop eyes to try to get help. that's where the victim was found and taken to the the hovment those victims tonight have not yet been identified and we have seen quite a few people who have coming to this scene worried that they may know one of the people involved. we saw people with tiers with worry unable to find out for sure if their loved one was killed. here's one woman we spoke to. i just saw him stretched out on the ground i was hoping and praying it wasn't anybody i knew because i know a few pim that live in this area so i had to stop and doublecheck and make sure. it's a wait and see basically because that's all you can do. this has been a very

for prince george's county police. i just checked in with investigators and they say there have been ten people to sky by homicide just since last saturday. sos that he ' in the past ate days or so. again, tonight police are here in suitland investigating after two men were shot and killed at this point we don't have any suspect or motive information. we're live tonight, lindsay watts, fox5 local news. >> disturbing numbers, thank you . in the district police are searching for suspects in the murder of a man in the lincoln heights area northeast. the victim who had five children and five stepchildren was gunned down on wednesday. tonight the family of malyea. he led a crime at an early age but since then turned his live around. he was featured in a washington post of after graduating from the pilot program. a total of

ten kids, but countless others that have been affected by this the kids, you know, we're hold ing ons as good as we can, but it's tough. it's a really hard time for the entire family life was about his kids. it's a shame he didn't make it to that point. i'll go right now is to bond together as a family. take up where he left off at and make sure each one of the little kids right there and everyone is in college and everything else continue to go that path. a juvenile was also shot, but survived. now to montgomery county, police are investigating the death of a four-month baby in gaithersburg. officers found the infant inside a van parked in a parking lot along quint orchard road. the baby later died at a p who. it's still unclear what led to the baby's death. police say the child's parents were present, but so far no charges have been filed. an update tonight, a go fund m

who was hit while riding his bike in southeast last month. bugger jes johnson was hit in the 2900 block of another i street and later died. the driver of the car that hit him will not stop. his family says they will use money raised through the go fund me page for his funeral expenses. meantime, d.c. police are still looking for the person that hit him. arson is to blame for a fire in southeast. the fire broke out on wheeler road. two neighbor ing homes were damaged as well. thankfully no residents were hurt, but one firefighter was injured battling the flames. someone used an accelerant to set the house on fire. d.c. police still trying to figure out what led to a deadly shooting in georgetown this weekend. one person was killed, another injured. and this happened early yesterday morning along water street steps from the key bridge. nineteen year old kennedy amia

beltway near pennsylvania avenue . there have been no ar rests in that shooting yet. police in montgomery county need your help finding a man who has been missing for about 18 hours now. forty-three year old alfred care onwas last seen just after mid it in at him home. he may be driving a 2015 ford explorer with maryland tags which read 8bt4185. congress gets back to work this week after the july 4 holiday and members have three weeks left before they're scheduled you to go on their august recess. they'll try to get a healthcare billion passed but a growing number of members have their doubts about the legislation. we hear more now from fox's garret ten any. >>reporter: senator lederle leadership has been working hard to see what changes they can make to the gop healthcare billion to get the 50 votes it needs to pass. the problem is the list of democrats keeps growing.

changes will be needed to bring them back on board. mitchell mcconnell is hoping to introduce a revised version of the healthcare billion sometime. even it's not clear what the re visions will look like or if they're enough. we don't know what the serious rewrite. clearly the draft plan is dead. is the serious rewrite plan dead ? i don't know i haven' seen the serious rewrite plan. the administration is working hard to get at least 50 republicans to a yes vote and he's still confident that the senate will be able to get it passed even if it means delaying the august recess. i think you're seeing members of the senate putting their wish list together. you have a leader in mitchell mcconnell that can get it done. if anyone can get it done, mitchell mcconnell, president trump working together with the the senate. yes or no will they pass. >> yes. they will get a repeal and replace b

forced. this is the fifth attempted cease fire in syria since february 2016 but the hope this time rather than after crumbling it will lead to something broader and long-lasting, perhaps even ending the civil war. the cease fire was announced friday after president trump met with vladimir putin at the g20 summit . it was brokered by the us, russia and gordon and it calls for disee escalation zones . the zahra along the border with jordan and the province on the border of israel . under the agreement syria's government will stop its inner strikes on rebel positions and both sides will hold their fire. the us russia and jordan will mondayor the region for any violations. national yew said will welcome a cease fire in syria but added that it must n
