hillary clinton. today the president was asked about that and the he defended his eldest son. >> my son is a wonderful young man. he took a meeting with a russian lawyer, not a government lawyer but a russian lawyer. it was a short meetin. it was a meeting that went very, very quickly, very fast. two other people were in the room. they i guess one of them left almost immediately and the other one was not really focused in the meeting. i do think this. i think from a practical standpoint most people would have taken that meeting. it's called opposition research or even research into your opponent. so, again, i have a son who is a great young man, he's a fine person. >> one other things he said in there is that he said the media was making too much of this and that's why people were focused on it again you heard him there say most anybody he thinks would have

trump being naive, was it something that was wrong but not illegal or something that was pat patently illegal and i think that's where a lot of questions remain at this point. >> yes, that's right, as with almost any legal offense or alleged offense it depends which lawyer you talk to as to whether it is perceived as illegal or not. there is the possibility of some campaign finance laws having been breached. those prohibit campaigns from soliciting something of value whatever you define that from foreign nationals or from foreign governments so that could be potential legal jeopardy on that score but again do you have lawyers who say no, this doesn't rise to that level. >> so, to have that sort of involvement where you sit down and talk to somebody from a foreign government that in itself is not illegal, correct as long as it's not a quid pro quo. >> well, it depends -- it depend if you -- depends what lawyer you talk to. >> okay. >> some people would say that by getting information you're getting something of value. >>

earlier today. >> i think the important thing to know is that there really aren't that many dramatic changes that have been made to the underlying bill that was so controversial to begin with. the biggest change is probably the inclusion or at least the tentative inclusion of the so-called cruz amendment which would allow health plans to sell products to consumers that do not include the protections that the affordable care act established such as essential health benefits and protections for people with preexisting conditions so i think that's going to raise a lot of concerns certainly among democrats and moderate republicans are going to have serious questions about that change. >> i want to be clear what the advantage to something like that. is it just catastrophic needs is that really what it would cover and nothing else than that. >> yeah, well, if you're young and you're healthy there are benefits. you'll be able to get a cheaper plan that probably will meet your needs but if you ever plan on getting over or developing a sickness or have an accident then the plan that you need which is going to be more comprehensive is going to be

what we'll see from the congressional budget office on monday is that in fact that policy will be destabilizing for markets in general and one important thing to know about the cruz amendment is that unlike the policy in the house that was controversial, this is not a waiver policy where states can choose to adopt it or not, this is nationwide so even states that that want to maintain some stability are going to have that overridden by this amendment if it stays in the bill. >> brent let me bring you in. what's your take on what we've seen today, this proposed amendment or the changes that we have seen that were presented today. >> well, the changes are minimal other than the cruz amendment which is devastating so that makes the bill even worse than it was. you can expect to see over 20 million americans losing insurance because of this legislation and worse, low income americans older americans and people who can least afford it and are ill are going to suffer the most and the only people that are going to be happy are the healthy and wealthy. >> you know as we sit at home as you look at

obstruction of justice. so, yeah, we went to go see the congressman today to talk about this. why not many democrats have joined on board with him, why his own party seems to be reluctant to -- to use what one of them calls the i word and we also asked him this. congressman, there is already a special counsel out there by the name of robert muller. that special counsel, according to jim comey is doing an investigation of obstruction of justice. why bring this now? why are you bringing an article of impeachment? robert mueller hasn't even reported his postage stamp yet. this was his answer to the question. shouldn't you let mr. muller finish his work before you go and file this impeachment. >> obviously we need to let mueller, you know, finish his work
