granted parole when he could become a freeman. plus, results for a neighborhood in southeast pushing to stop speeders after a six year old boy was struck and killed. the news at ten starts right now. and thank you for joining us, everyone i'm sarah sip once in for shawn. and i'm tony perkins. people are stressed out, p set and out of control. now to the road rage incident near the beltway in alexandria that ended in gunfire . the stress level is higher and a i really don't think that i've been treating this many cases of people. it's aful city in which we live. this viral video of a seemingly anti must lime rant, a take down at a pool party caught on camera . we're seeing this pent up rage and stress all too often . just yesterday we told you about a road rage incident in alexandria where a maryland woman was shot. her alleged attacker is now in custody. and tonight we are learning about another road rage

this time it was a verbal tirade in ashburn, virginia. fox5 a's christine leone joins us now with more on that story. >>reporter: this disturbing scene played out last monday during rush hour. tensions were flaring, a motorist out of control even though the camera is rolling as you see. the situation ended without a punch thrown or any injuries here, but dhas ' not always the case as more and more drivers are losing control. you're a punk. you're a punk. you could hear just how quickly things escalated there. this all after honking the horn the victim told police that's when the aggressive and verbal altercation, that's when it all began. you could hear there the driver of the mercedes apparently making horrible racial comments and foul language and then proceeding to take out his own phone as you see and record his version of the incident.

local therapist today about why these situations escalate and what you need to do to avoid them. here's what she had to say. if you're the victim of road rage it's important to recognize that this person's reaction are out of proportion with the situation. so have some perspective and remove yourself, back off, switch lanes . your life is not wort having an argument with somebody who hats benefit of a muj engine and the ability to kill you. the sense of i need to be in control, this is my space right here. you're getting in it, i might feel threatened that's sort of a primal thing. the reaction to no, i'm in a car, i could hurt you if i needed to so i'm letting you know back off. very serious incidents here. the best way to describe road rage is that it's reactive aggression and reactive aggression is best described by escalating violence, as

livingston road and a school and a park on the other side it's dangerous. weigh we attended a vigil for xavier in mid may, cars were flying past the vigil the speed is 15 miles per hour when kids are present. we followed up catching drivers going above 40 miles per hour ourselves. mayor muriel bowser and d. looked into it and they conducted a traffic study. it took about two months, finally new safety measures have been put in place, including a crosswalk, speed bumps and a speed camera. speed bumpses, got the speed camera, got some new lights. we heard from one young lady that the residents are really happy that something is being done. i'm really concerned with this new thing that was done here there's no line in the mid fl the street. when you see cars, cars are actually riding on the middle of the street instead of one side or the other. we want to make sure they put a

>> this next story take as crank calls to a whole other level. the stafford sheriff's department was targeted this week by a swathing prank. that's when someone fakes an emergency call to get swath teams to respond to an unsuspect ing person's home. we learned a local teen was target ed by someone he had an

suspect also hacked the teen's online accounts accessing his personal information. fox5's anjali hemphill reports. jamie hiller is like any teen these days. he spends a lot of time on his computer, but he found out earlier this week an online dispute can become more than just a game. swathing, a recent trend where someone makes a prank call to 911 to get police out in riot gear. eighteen year old jamie hiller never thought it would happen at his stafford home by someone he never met. i contacted police at first because i wasn't sure. i knew that they had my phone number. they were sending me text messages from fake numbers, trying to call me, things like that. hiller says he called the stafford sheriff's department earlier in the week to report an online threat with someone he did not know made them threats. he said he

mother in the arm and was threatening to blow the house up if he didn't get a certain amount of money. that call came in and several sheriff's calls responded with no event. they took t all the necessary precautions should it have been a true incident, but keep in the back of mind that this had blen threatened earlier. investigators are now working to track down the suspected swather and hillers learned a valuable virtual lesson. if you're online you should understand what kind of risks you're run ning and know that there can be certain consequences of arguments of trolling. it's very juvenile but people get angry even online and they take now what used to be kind of innocent crank calls to a whole new level and poa potentially cause some very serious calls for the residents. in stafford, angelica lee hem l hill,

recuse himself. new information tonight about what led up to a shooting of a toddler in northeast. zc police say the shooting was over a dice game gone wrong between a group of men nearby. assault with a ipg dangerous weapon, they captured the shoot back on july 10 in an alley off of i street northeast a one year old was hit in the cross fire. they are looking for two other men. they identified one man, sa heed sue lieu. detectives are also hoping the public can help them identify the third man. now an update on those accusations that baltimore city officers planting drugs at a crime scene. the baltimore city's attorney is ask ing for patients as they look into this video. in the 90 second video officer richard upon yair oh can be seen placing a can as two other officers look on. he activates his body camera and comes back
