weidman, i expect him to come out and try to grind me and take me down. i may not have chris's credentials as a wrestler in college but in mixled martial arts i can wrestle very well. he feels like he gets better as the fight goes on. if this fight goes to the championship round, it swings drastically in his favor. weidman will not be able to keep pace were him. >> just like he said, he doesn't feel pressure. it's true, he doesn't have any. it's a win-win situation. he's a smaller man in the weight class. he wants to drop underneath. he's fighting a guy that was a former champ. he's going to test himself to see how good he really is. all this is going to do for kelvin, he says i'm one of the best in the world, i can compete with the best in the world. or i'm not. he doesn't carry the weight, he's 25 years old and wants to drop down and keep winning anyway. >> he is in this division but a lot of people believe he will have the striking advantage.

us with the latest >> things are popping once again and this is actually round three of the line of storms that is moved through degrees our area from from this afternoon when it started around 1:00 or earlier. let's take a look the a what's going on, spotsylvania, stafford and fredericksberg were under the gun where they had a tornado warning. spotsylvania now just been placed under another severe thunderstorm warning. that in effect until 11:15, you can see the widespread rain showers and all the lightening imbedded in these storms. what's over delmarva is what's left of round one while around two, while round three continues to move in. this is where we have severe thunderstorm warning for spotsylvania as long as orange until 11:15, moving about 35 miles an hour and

day >> the dean of television news in the news area, nbc 4 jim vance died after battling cancer. 75 and a journalististic giant whose shoes will never be filled. vance as he was affectionally called didn't want his reporting career in 1969. moved to the anchor in 1972 and stayed 45 years. we were all devastated in may when vance revealed he was battling cancer. >> i've had to take some time off, it's not of my choosing. couple of weeks ago, doctors gave me some someone close to you, it's the kind of news. nobody, ever wants to hear. he said i have cancer and need treatment >> vance was gave theed writer and story teller and told it like it was. we got to know vance as more than just an

journalist. he was not shy about sharing his own problems. including drug addiction and depression. he overcame a lot in his life. vance interviewed countless people including presidents, governors and mayors. but he also had a common touch. and most of all, he loved people. and loved to shine a light on their lives, problems and their tr trials. he received an honor, his portrait now adoor ands the mural outside ben chilly bowl in northwest >> you cannot imagine my joy and my pride when i got the word a month or so ago that all you all have voted poor ass little me to sit on vance

evan joins us outside for studios in northwest. evan. >> reporter: as you can imagine, it was an extremely tough day here for jim vance colleagues at nbc 4. i spoke with doreen, his co anchor of nearly 30 year, she shared with me what she'll remember most about her colleague and friend. >> he came from plumbers. that's how he would put it. >> reporter: nearly 30 years, she saturdays alongside dc news giant. jim vance. but she said what exemplifies the man was his ability to unpoll jetcally himself. >> a particularly tough news day for one reason or another, he'd say at least we're not carrying a bathtub up the steps, which is what he watched his grand feather
