at ten starts right now. first tonight, c police need your help finding the person responsible for two armed robberieses in the city. thank you for joining us, i'm marina maracco and i'm teisha lewis, in for lauren. these holdups happen within just a day of each other. fox5's evan lamb perth is live with more. what happened here. >>reporter: d.c. police saying tonight that they still are not 100 percent sure that this is the same suspect in both of these rob robberies, but if you take a look at that video that you see in just a moment here, the mos are the same and the outfits, they are very similar. new video release just days ago shows a brazen armed robber getting violen in just seconds. watch them here on june 14. he points his gun straight at the clerk at this 7/eleven in the 2300 block of 14th street northwest. police say he got away with a

and even stole a wallet from a customer on the way out. notice the head covering, possibly a shirt tied around his face. a man with what appears to be the same head scarf targets the cvs store just the day before. this time it's the 1300 block of 12th street northeast. the gun isn't clear in the video, but d.c. police say this robbery was also armed. they have taken notice. either way the person responsible for both is still out there. and anyone that gives d.c. police a tip that leads to a conviction is eligible for a reward up to $10,000. live in northwest, evan lambert, fox5 local news. >> a group of immigrants were found packed inside of a swelter ing tractor-trailer in a walmart parking lot in san an

least nine people are dead and dozens more injured. police found those people after a person from the truck asked a store employee for water. that employee then called for help. tonight the driver of that truck is facing charges. fox's will cars has the latest. we're look ing at human trafficking crime here. a who are irveg discovery overnight in texas as authorities find dozens ever mexicans inside a sweltering hot tractor-trailer parked outside a walmart in san antonio. they were likely migrant workers who were being smuggled inside the scunt rivment we got a call from an employee to conduct a welfare check. he was approached by someone from that truck who was asking for water. the truck was packed with 38 people, mostly men, although there were also two 15 year olds. most were vomiting and rushed to the hospital for heat stroke and de

today it's been mainly rain. there have been some storms but the rain has caused some flood issues in some of our neighborhoods, but we're still talking a chance of storms tonight. things are going to look calm on radar, but that could be very short lived before the night is over. we're talk ing back into the 90s and cooler and comfortable by mid week. that's going to be so welcome as we get some cooler air and a break-in our humidity in here. unsettled once again. we're going to turn the clock around again by the time we get to late week. we had some pretty heavy rainfall that has moved through. it's heading straight up the coast into parts of new england and we're seeing some clouds and a little bit of light rainfall here and there across our area, but that could change tonight as we start to see a little bit more development with some more of this rain and storms moving in in the overnight hours. especially once we get to about midnight we might start to see things firing up again. just a bit of it now

start to increase in intensity. so just be aware of that as we move into the overnight hours. some of this has been really quite heavy. so much so that we have a flood watch in effect. this until seven a.m. on monday morning. now, many of the areas have received in excess of an inch and a half of rainfall. some of it even more so, so a lot of the creeks and streams have started to have some pretty rapid rising waters and cause some issues and turnaround don't drawn is what we say because we don't want you to descrief into areas where you're not sure how deepwater is. it's hard to figure out especially when it's late at night. we don't want you to have any issues. here's some of the six-hour rainfall. in montgomery county village 1.726789 upper marlboro almost an inch and three-quarters close to that. disarlg ton, this is in hartford county of this ' got close to four inches of rainfall in the last six hours. h is where we've had a lot of streets that have been flooded. we've

couldn't get out and also some rescues. it's been quite an interesting night for them. germantown just over an inch and olney 1.17. that's an indication of the last six hours or so in materials of rainfall accumulation. temperatures today, we were flirting with the 930-degree mark for the daytime highs and i'm sure it felt hot ter than that by the time you kicked in the humidity. it was sticky out there. seventy-seven at zc, 76 at this hour at baltimore. we've got 79 at annapolis. a little warmer to the south. fredericksburg at 8e got eight # two at manassas. seventy-nine at cull pep per. as we take a look at what we're looking at overnight, a chance of partly cloudy skies and overnight lowe's will be into the 70s. it will be a very warm night and also to the north, north end e west things will be just a little cooler relatively speaking of course. low 70s and the upper 630s kicking in as we

above and beyond to fight crime they're adding drones to the force and it's happening very close to maryland. the clarks town new york police department is training a dozen officers to fly drones. these cops never thought they'd be pilots but say they're looking at the future of law enforcement. just one week after the sheriff accident in cecil county, maryland got its brand new drone up and running it was asked to investigate a case of stolen construction equipment. authorities in neighboring states expected half a million dollars of bobcats and other small machines might be stashed on this property hidden from street level view. so the sheriff sent his typhoon h pro drone up over the land and quickly recorded this footage enough to convince a judge to sign a warrant that night leading to the seizure of the stolen equipment and the alleged thieve's arrest within hours, being to be the first alleged use

>> and army veteran from texas with a terminal illness has one final wish. he wantsz to hear from people with a text or a phone call. sergeant lee hernandez can barely stand up. he suffered nearly a dozen strokes that have left him blind , disabled and in hospice care. hernandez told his wife all he wants is to be surrounded by others and feel their love. his story was posted on facebook and a scret rans group was quick to respond. they threw a party for him which really made a difference. i'm very thankful for your service to this country . us as veterans when we get out of the military we have to look out for our own because nobody else will. hernandez' wife says she was overwhelmed by the san antonio

the family of a world war ii veteran has a piece of his history back. bernard mack in a mar a died in 1975. he he won a purple heart. but somehow his medal went missing. today it was returned to his family. the story sounds like it's right out of a movie, but i can assure you it's real life. a purple heart is finally reunited with a new york family but the road to get there was a long one. about a decade ago they found it in dirt in new york. engraved was bj mack nature a. there's no database with a list of all purple heart recipients and to top it off, thousands of mack in a mar as served in world war ii and dozens of bj mack in a nature a's chuck
