today, taken into custody charged with assault with dangerous weapon. unlawful possession after firearm. police say suli, derek watson, and another man yet to be identified opened fire on july d boy in the 1300 block every "i" street northeast. that shooting apparently spark by a dispute over a dice game. again, there is thirds person involved. that is the video they have. police are still trying to identify that person. if you have any information, give mpd a call. >> three people arrested and charged in connection with the murder every teenager in prince george's county, kai land nettleton and darius johnson, all facing murder charges, in the july 18th shooting death of 17 year old dustin cory. police say cory was found shot in a car in laurel. investigators believe the three suspect shot cory after the four of them met to conduct illegal transaction. authorities will not reveal what was being

>> off season drama, kick returner lucky whitehead, after he was linked to a shoplifting arrest in northern virginia. prince william county police say whitehead was arrested on june 22, for taking about $40 worth of food and drink from convenience score in manassas, when the cowboys learned about the situation yesterday, they released him. but as it turns out, it was a case of mistaken identity. got a statement tonight from prince william county police, it is a long one, i'll read it in part. police department is competet in releasing it was falsely provide today police during the investigation, going on, the police department is working with the prince william county commonwealth attorneys office to clear mr. whitehead from this

investigation. >> meanwhile, golden state warrier star forward jaymon green is in legal trouble tonight, being slapped with a civil lawsuit by man and woman that claim he bullied and physically assaulted them. the suit stems from an incident last summer, when green was arrest the for allegedly slapping a former michigan state university football playing during dispute outside a bar. jermaine edmonson and his girlfriend also claim green's associates grabbed them by the throat couple days prior to the incident. accusers say green's alleged act every violence quote severely impacted their lives. >> on july 9th, green bumm napped at a bar at msu campus, i said he could at least say excuse me, but instead he asked people around me who i was, like i wasn't even worthy of talking to him. then he looked at me in the ian said: i know beep like you. i pay for beep like you schors

today. and while that's thinning out a bit, seeing late day sunshine t definitely was a different day than what we are accustom to in the summer. had cold front go through last night, high pressure building in, there is enough cool air aloft, even thaw we started sunny allowed all of the clouds to pop up. they should start to clear out headed closer toward sunset, beautiful evening out at nats park, beautiful evenin for whatever do you have planned. maybe dinner outdoors, really just quite comfortable. seventy-nine in partly cloudy skies going through 7:00 p.m. seventy-seven by 9:00. by 11:00 p.m. mostly clear, 74 . okay, low temperatures overnight, look at this, maybe even a rogue 50 or two showing up in the higher elevations north and west. sixty-nine for the low here in washington, 69 annapolis, 68 in leonardtown. but we haven't started the day in the 60s in weeks. fifty-nine in frederick, 58 there in hagerstown, so this is the windows open weather far off toward the north and west, nice to say at this point in july. pleasant temperatures continue, that's our headline, they continue for at least one more day tomorrow.

>> this is fox5 local news at 5:00. >> all right, here's a look at your headlines. a man from southeast was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer. authorities say 25 year old adrian smith approached an on-duty police officer a lock dick street northeast. moments later he pulled out a gun and opened fire. the officer returned fire, hit the suspect several times, as he took off from the scene. smith was later arrested and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. the officer involved was not there is new video tonight of burglary that happened in southeast dc, happened at home 400 block of woodcrest drive. you see the suspect on the left side of your screen. suspect gets into the home, through the back, and then once inside he grabs a back pack before going upstairs. also making off several item, including some mack computers, cologne, digital camera, sunglasses and a

morning to defend sessions. after president trump tweeted that sessions has been very weak on hillary clinton's e-mail, and her server, gram said that sessions is one of the most decent people he's ever known in politics. and that prosecution decisions cannot be influenced by politics. well, i spoke with attorney sherrie cannon to help better understands why that distinction is so important. >> the attorney general of the united states and law enforcement, federal law enforcement; supposed to be independent of any kind of political influence. the concern that's raised by the president's tweet early this morning, regarding mrs. clinton, and her issues, is that it appears that he's trying to politicize the attorney general's job, as well as have law enforcement go after a former political opponent, which is completely inappropriate, and not done in this country. >> at the end of the

president trump has the right to fire the attorney general. so let's say he decides to do so. who might replace him? i spoke with white house correspondent john gizzy of news max to ask him what his thought are. >> certainly has been a lot of speculation about attorney general sessions being replaced by rudy guiliani, or environmental protection administrator scott pruitt, himself former state attorney general of oklahoma. that said, i don't see it happening. jeff sessions gave up 20 years of seniority in the senate to become america's top law man, and were he to be driven out and humiliated, his friends, and the republican side, not to mention democrats lusting for revenge against the president, would take the opportunity to make any nominee a sacrificial lamon the floor of the

you have got a lot more cloud cover, up in places like new york, new jersey, and new england, even some showers there which is making it feel even cooler. so pretty remarkable, i think, not very summer like towards the north, pretty ideal back here in washington. cloud cover coming down from the north, it was kind of thick earlier today. seeing some breaks every sunday shine here this evening. so, high pressure is moving a little bit off shore. we head into tomorrow. we get the easterly flow around the base of the high temperature, which is around the high pressure, which is notorious for bringing clouds, even shower or two, and definately keeping things on the cool side. so we're once again seeing afternoon, where temperatures will only be in the 70s, to the north, low to mid 80s here in washington. and showers are in the forecast, nothing widespread and the further east you get, the better chance you have of running into s rain. i just showed you regional satellite. you saw that area of light showers from up-state new york down through central jersey. that's kind of going to be the set up tomorrow except it will favor areas around us a little bit more. so, spotty showers in the afternoon, not a big need for the umbrella,

threat. and as we show it to you on future cast, you can see it is not real a big deal, but makes it kind of cloudier afternoon. so as we fast forward into the afternoon hours, isolated, passing showers, especially from 95 and areas off toward our east. that threat should wayne as we head into tomorrow evening. so, tomorrow's planning forecast, i this i we start off with decent amount of sunshine, temperatures around 07 degrees, real nice, 79 by the lunch however, probably diagnose to see a lot of cloud cover, just like we did this afternoon with shower or two, and high temperature of 84 degrees, maybe even little bit below that, we'll see how much cloud cover we get. that all changes as we head toward thursday. warmfront comes roaring back in, heat, humidity, nothing too crazy, probably only see high temperatures around 90. definitely some increased humidity, then as a result low pressure rolls on top of us, thursday night into friday, we've got a lot of moisture play, with we've got plenty of chances for some showers, some thunderstorms, and, in fact, storm prediction center has out looked the whole area all the way newspaper philadelphia, new york

in the thigh. they didn't need the d.c. police department. they were going to handling it, but all they needed was an ambulance to transport someone to the hospital. let's show you a little bit of video that we shot earlier today. from our understanding this person was not taken to a trauma center, but was taken to a nearby hotel again shot in the thigh. we do not know at this point who this person is, whether this was an accidental shooting, but the secret service is investigating at this point. we know that inside this building the directly says it is the department of justice civil rights division. that's what's on the directory. however, when you go onto the secret service website it says it is the field office. but there's nothing independent side to indicate that is what is in this building . there is a number of officers coming from the building. we don't know the condition of the person that was transported. we did get in
