obamacare is torturing americans . i have pen in hand. >> so we certainly heard a lot from him today. he let everybody know he's ready to sign this billion. we know when they passed the billion years ago -- we're talking dozens ever times. we asked this many times leading up to the vote, was it a matter of going back to your constituents, i voted to repeal it, but the president wouldn't sign it. tom fitzgerald live on capital hill with more. we talk about emotional days up here, but this one really was. take a look at this video. this was about 3:00 this afternoon. we didn't know until last night when senator make cane's office announced that he was going to be returning here to capital hill. that's not the video. this video you're looking at here right now is in, fact, the heart snot office building. this was the scene of a

of demonstratorses who are opposed to republican efforts to do away with obamacare. they took over the center of the heart senate building. eventually police had to move in and there were arrests made. what was this that republicans made. keep in mind they did not he repeal obamacare, they did not repeal obamacare. there's a difference between a pre-season football win and a regular season football win. this was more like a pre-season win. what republicans did today was simply open up debate on what eventually they hope will lead to some form of a billion, but before that happened senator mccain admonishedded both sides, republicans and democrats telling them they had to start working together and to stop listening to punned dants outside of the capital building stop listening to the bomb bass particular loud mouths on

internet. to hell with them. ( applause) they don't want anything done for the public good. our in imas ticketed event is their livelihood. >> let's trust each other. let's return to regular order. >> the bottom line is this, the democrats stayed united. they had all 48 members vote no. republicans lost two senators, jim and shawn. they lost susan collins. they also lost lisa mor cow ski. they'll go ahead and start debate on this, but it is no sure bet that all the republicanses are going to stand . mccain said during his speech he is a no as this billion stands. we could see a whole lot more motion as they go forward and move on

side has ten hours of debate. it's up in the air as to whether the final version isabella going to emerge from this process. the one name thattette volunteer ed yes i think there was some speculation that she would not is shell i mor cap tal . she is moving forward with the debate. it's going to be interesting to see what comes out of the debate once it happens. she got called out by the president in west virginia in front of the home crowd. the big question mark up until today was dean holler of nevada. a the look of these republicans are trying to kind of pester both sides saying yes, i'm allow ing h this to go forward to debate but i'm not quite there as a yes vote so don't quote on me for that. this is going to be a fastening proposition as this unravels. they call this a vote a ram a. each side is going to be able to offer

to vote on those debates immediately. this could go on for hours, late into the morning , possibly even into the overnight hours. so it is not clear at h this point whether or not eventually at the end of this long road there is going to be anything from he emergencying from this that they'll be able to vote on. we'll be watching and waiting and getting the information out as soon as we get it. we appreciate the update tonight. the president's senior advisor and son-in-law rurp to the capital today. kushner met yesterday with the committee. his meetings were in consequential. kushner said each exchange lasted less than a minute. they subpoenaed former paul man forth to testify forth at a committee hearing. they weren't able to reach w

hearing about these greum knowledgeses from the last couple of weeks. at first tillerson was a breath of fresh air because he was not a career diplomat. he was not a politician like john kerry, hillary clinton was, but again as we move forward it seems like it's more friction with the guy at the top. >> we will be watching. we will see what this means. meantime, president trump is taking a little heat for bringing in h his youngest son to an ongoing twitter beat with the media. jared kushner did very well in proving he did not collude with the russian's witch hunt. up next 11 year old barron trump. ronica cleary went out to get the pulse of the people on h >>reporter: jim and shawn. yeah, you know, the president has really made it a tradition, if you will, a new tradition to fire up a lot of tweets p in the morning and they sometimes blend together, if you will. this would be

part for the last part of it. i think we have it to just pull up one more time. the end of that tweet we ook to the streets and we reddit to pep and the part that we really wanted people to focus on was this last part of it that says next up 11 year old barron trump. we asked people if they agree with that sentiment. take a listen. i didn't get to see jared kushner 's testimony so i'm not sure how well he did, but i'm a little disturbed that he's using his kid that way. you mean barron. >> yeah. generally the media takes the position that we should leave the president's children out of politics, so it strikes me as weird that the president would bring his young son out of politics. i think donald trump should leave his son out of anything to do with politics. he's a child. he doesn't need to be brought into any of that. i haven't dissect ed it, but it's -- donald trump says what he wants t

take it or leave it. >> a handful of you waiting on twitter as well. fishes we got a tweet from rick, it's a double standard. if poad us uses him for political gain. mia says, yes, democrats attack barron trump when it suits them. but the president uses him as a witch hunt and then suddenly they have morals. it sort of portrays a different perspective so i think it's worth mentioning just to give you that idea of the pulse of the people. christie says our president obviously made h comment to point out the absurdity of this witch hunt, nothing more to it. so a lot of people seeming to say it's inappropriate, but there are a handful of invoices in there saying, you know, itself he ' just the president being the president. weigh in, let me know what you think use the hash hashtag five at of:30. i think the second tweet you showed and i don't think it's one party -- i don't think the

republicans as a whole used the obama girls in any political context. i don't think the democrats are using the barron trump in any political con ex t it's all about the verbiage moving forward. >> i think it is. i certainly hope not. >> thank you, ronica. i saw -- did you see the picture of him in his pajamas? little uncomfortable. yep. the senator, republican senator susan collins caught on a hot mike insulting fair hold. she called hair fold fat and you un attractive. senator collins apologized to representative fair hold. there was no comment from him. she also said a couple other things on there, but again it's a reminder, mikes are always live. it's t

welcome back. president trump went on a bit of a twitter rampage last night. the commander and chief launched an attack on his attorney general today calling weak and bee lingered. there's a lot to talk about here tonight. let's bring in democratic strategist emily tish sussman who is joining us via a swipe. spencer sullivan and crane. thanks so much for being with us. >> thanks for having us. >> i want to talk about the president's tweets today slamming his attorney general. i was stunned to see him -- what seemed to be disrespecting the attorney general. we

attorney -- the justice department is supposed to be independent of the white hours, but the president seems to want to direct who is running it. what was your take when you saw >> he doesn't seem to be aware that they should be independent he is obsessed with trying to defense himself, defense his reputation and it's really at the expense of the american people. the senate is currently vote odd a billion voted on this afternoon on a billion that will affect a six of the economy and they don't know what's in the billion and yet the president can't get past his own perception of himself. he's totally obsessed with it. spencer, this is the president's guy. jeff sessions who is one of the first senators to come out in favor of him to support him on the trail. the president picked him to be attorney general. a lot of senators came to his defense today. let's just say at least with the president you always know where you stand. there's no question where you stand up or down. i read a great post in the washington post by an editor of

says there's two types of news, the inside the beltway, the tweets and access storieses which folks like myself get wrap ped up in and care so much about. >> us, too. there's outside the beltway news, trump country which he won, which most of the folks don't have broad band. they're not reading the tweets. they're not caring about what he said on the stump today, what they care about is the newest big dollar discount store that came to the town. they don't have to drive 50 minutes to another discount store. they care about new doctor that came to town so they dent have to drive 45 minutes to see a specialist. they quair about all of these things that matter they care about an updated bus route so they know when to take their kids out. is this presidential? is this the person you want?

presidential? representing the united states, the face of the united states, the leader of the free world and what are other countries think thinking about us? i think it gets back to the course we've never seen someone use twitter the way president trump uses twitter. let's face it, he's bypassed a large part of this population to get his vote and it's been successful. it's been successful except i'll be deeply saddened when the counties that voted for him. i don't think we can write it off so much. i think we do see from a lot of trump surrogates is a frustration that the trump white house puts out a message every week and saying this is the me eamg of the week and the news media doesn't follow it. i think what we're seeing here is a complete distracts of what obamacare is. obamacare is completely

>> sandy is sitting here patiently. what is your take away from all of the dissection of the tweets and the form of the communication that we haven't seen presidents use much before. the guy was not presidential before he became president. he was his own bossments he didn't have norm ative rules. he created a dine ticketed event bay creating some chaos, by evoking re activity out of his rivals for his own purposes and i think we're having keeping up with what is h his strategy because it is kind of going around what we know is traditional presidential. speaking of that, i want to show you sort of a hit social media, another cringe worthy moment when the president was talking to the boy scouts of america. i go to washington and i see all these politicians and i see the swamp and it's not a good place. in fact, today i said we ought to change it from the word swamp to the word zest pool or perhaps to

sewer, but it's not good. note good. i see what's going on and believe me i'd much rather be with you, that i can tell you. >> he started out the whole gambia bore ' by saying i'm not going to talk about poll iks t, but it looked like a stump speech out there. there were some people that said he was in his element. there are some people who said he should have brought politics up there. is it a matter of not the right message at the right time. >> do i think his speech writers think he would have stayed on script, yes. does the president have a tendency to go off script , absolutely? a. what we see is the president who has his own pulse on the people. there is no one else better connecting with the people than the president. he was connecting with \chilled\childen. he was talk ing about who was hot at a party in new york and there were parents in the audience that were like

tipt california president. but for that exact same reason, the typical traditional president was rejected in terms of hillary clinton. he was elected by folks who didn't want to see the same old, same old. emily we're about out of time. do you want to up. q. p in here. i think that president trump and his surrogates that don't remember that he is now the president he has to own it. he has to own every piece of it. thank you guys so much. we wish we could continue this situation, but you know what, we'll probably be able to continue it next week, right in we're back after this.

this come about that you ended up meeting with he van contact trump? actually i'm on the united states advisory council on human trafficking at the white house and it's written into law and i'm co-chair of the committee. we were able to talk about our annual report. it's on the state department's website. there was a lot of attention paid and i'll just use one example because over the weekend we saw what happened down in san and tone antonio. it was human trafficking. has it increased or still a situation that there's no much awareness it needs to get out there. >> i think it has increased a lot because of survivors, this is all survivors of human traffickerring. we've been fish ing a lot of policy in the u s. kowrt any's mission is a lot of the process as well. you guys do a the look of work especially in our community. we've talked to you a

recommendation. i'm working on changing all of the law enforcement training and they're really pushing that all of the agencies are supported. >> when you say training or changing it, can you give us a couple of specifics you mean. i think we all heard something different about human trafficker ring and it's not consistent the material we get. the justice department, fbi, homeland security, we want it consistent. my piece and our survivors piece is creating the new investigative manual so we can get more of the networks inside the united states. we want to help and get more information. thank you so much. >> thank you so much for coming in, we appreciate it. >>thank you. we'll be right back.

[laughter] >> blac chyna bought a new 2017 ferrari spider. it is worth $334,000. it is the nicest car ever. but she's apparently doing fine without rob. >> clearly doesn't need rob. >> has anybody seen rob or is he back playing video games locked in a room somewhere? >> oh, he's got the drapes drawn for sure.
