flooding issues looking at upwards of three, 4-inches of rain here friday into saturday. so more on that coming up in just a couple of minutes. this afternoon 89 and more humidity. back to you. >> all right. thank you tucker. we're still following that breaking news out of fairfax county, and intense search going on right now for a man police say stabbed a person right by a metro station. it happened just short time ago. our fox5's bob barnard live on the scene now. what you can see very active from the police tape we're looking at. bob, what can you tell us? >> reporter: yeah, maureen, this happened we're told around 7:35 this morning. i'll step out of the way you can see this is a foot path down into what's called east blake lane park and i know sky fox is above as well. there's still half a dozen police officers here. the k9 was just in there but do you see that's a crime scene investigator photographer and detective down there. so this happened just kind of as the foot path goes into the woods here. this is adjacent to vaden drive near saints bury drive and as you

parking lot for the vienna metro station not far here. investigators are looking to see if there's any evidence there. the victim is a woman and we're told she was stabbed in the n neck, and the person she described who diss this was short like maybe 5-foot 4-inches tall. she said he was hispanic or african-american wearing a black hadi and maybe shorts and so there's a look out for that person right now. the dog has just come out of the woods but you see investigators here. i just want to pan over to the left here. you'll see there are still police here and then that building off just on the other side of vaden drive is a fairly new condo complex. so this happened in an area where there would be lot of people driving by still at this hour but clearly at 7:35 at the beginning of the rush hour and again we have a look out just basic description of a person but we don't know if anyone else has spotted him. the victim we are told has gone to fairfax hospital with

although they again tell us she was stabbed in the neck here this morning. guys. >> bob, keep us to speed on that story as we get more information. frightening right by the metro station. new information in another story that broke overnight in northern virginia. the discovery of a body outside of a dumpster outside cvs store out in warrington, virginia. now, we now know the victim was the manager of that cvs on blackwell road identified as 64-year-old rex olson. still no word from investigators on how olson died. warrington police continue to believe that there is no threat to the pu pub in this case. wis? >> let's talk about what happened in ohio. there's big story this morning at 9:00. it was an awful incident we've got video to show you here. horrible at a state fair in o ohio. one man was killed. seven others were injured. three of them in critical condition when a ride malfunction. this is the video i was talking about. there is cell phone video of the deadly accident. but it is too brutal to show on television. offici

the ride the fire ball did pass, did in fact pass all of its inspections before opening and safety is the most important thing to them. >> we do not rush inspections. our inspections take place and amusement rides come in they're checked several times while they're being put up and and each and of day. >> governor john kasich ordered all the rides to be shut down today for inspections. the rest of the fair will still go on as planned. now we know that a lot, energy a lot of states the fair is a huge deal. >> big deal in ohio. i've been to the ohio state fair. >> massive deal and when you get something like this, it just sheds a bad light on it and it brings a lot negativity to it. >> also brings such a question inspections i know, you know, last couple of years that's been a big deal how often are these rides inspected. who is doing the inspection? but i don't know for me every time i go to fair those rides look shaky to me. it's not fair to the operators but it does look shaky to me. i hardly do anything like that ride. >> for me it's always like, okay, a ride

but rather strong mental fitness bipartisan lawmakers on capitol hill condemned the president's decision. the white house cited the high cost of sex reassignment surgery as one reason for the ban. according to recent study there are between 2500 to 7,000 active transgender service members. meanwhile republicans on the hill will try again to cobble together winning health care coalition after another vote went down in flame. that happened yesterday. the party though is still split among those who want to just rip the band-aid off and repeal obamacare complete and those who want to stop the bleeding by opting for a slim down approach. the so-called skinny repeal would get rid of unpopular individual and employer insurance mandate and the tax on medical devices past in the original obamacare legislation. today sen senators will start ws known as a voter rama with tons of amendments and no debate. talk about that later on. in the meantime new this morning incoming white h

communication director anthony scaramucci calling the leak of his financial disclosure a felony and he's determined to stop leaks coming from the inside trump administration. >> he vows to crack down those not committed to advancing the president' as jenn today. melanie alnwick live from the white house with the latest on this. mel? >> reporter: good morning, guys. certainly seems like scaramucci is blazing a trail into the job with a blow to have been. last night on fox news channel he called washington assess p pool. he blames some obama hold overs going on, and he also said hema- believes that senior staffs are telling junior staffers to leak information for him. but what really got him upset yesterday was this alleged as he said leak of his financial disclosure form that was filed with the office of government ethics. he said that it was leaked to the media, but we're learning perhaps that that was not the case. in a tweet posted yesterday, scaramucci said he will be contacting the

justice department calling it a felony but that tweet was deleted after many pointed out those financial disclosure forms are public information but it also comes after the president called out attorney general jeff sessions and said he should be doing more to investigate people who are leaking information. scaramucci said one his top priorities is to get the administration in line. >> what i don't like about washington and people do not let you know how they feel. they're very nice to your face and then they take a shive or a machete and they stab it in your back. i don't like it. okay. i'm a wall street guy and i'm more afront stabbing person and i would rather tell people directly how i feel about them than this sort of nonsense. >> reporter: now, last night, the justice department after scare me's interview with fox news channel put out statement saying, we agree with anthony that the staggering numbers of number

the ability of our government to function and protect our cou country. scaramucci went further yesterday saying that the attorney general jeff sessions is developing a plan for cracking down on these leaks and we believe he said that we should have some information next week on perhaps some new leak investigations. live outside the white house, i'm melanie alnwick, fox5 local news. >> ing happening today the fate avenue high school name in the name of a school board. the effort to change the name started with julianne moore and alum of jeb stewart high school along with producer bruce cohen. now the community seems to be split on the issue. our viewers don't seem to be. at leave those taking our poll. but the community is. annie yu live at the school with what both sides of saying. annie? >> reporter: hey, steve, good morning to you. that's right. this local story has gained national attention because of actress julianne moore as well as bruce cohen bothlu

the racially di of course high school's name to be renamed. it's this battle this contentious debate going on for about year, and tonight, we will find out how the board feels about this. now if the board votes yes, you could very well see a new name on the sign here at the school on the building. i will say as you walk into the front entrance there's big banner here at the school that says, we are one, and it was students here at jeb stewart who spark the movement to have the name changed and after taking a closer look at stewart's legacy some of the board members along with some of the members of the naacp they jumped in to help lead this effort. now, those who want the name changed say that students at the school should continue to study jeb stew war's life and the role in the civil war but some feel, though, as though this historical figure shouldn't and honored this way having a school named after him. because of what he stands for isn't the values of what this school protects. the

there is over the cost and the burden of renaming the school. it could cost over a million dollars to rename, and as you mentioned, the community clearly divided over this topic and many of you have been sharing your page i want to share some ofboo- those with you right in you. the first one from charles fox he actually went to jeb stewart in 1978. his sister attended here as well in '65 and he says fairfax county needs to find more important things to concern themselves with. next up is terry, and she says, yes, change the name so many things in virginia are named for the confederacy highways, schools, et cetera, but give the teachers a raise and bonus, too. finally, darlene gifford thompson says enough is enough. this is part of the history of our country. if these people think that removing these names, statues, et cetera, will take what happened away, they are sadly mistaken. the past cannot be changed but you have to use the past to learn from and move forward. and so those are some of the sentiments keep them coming throughout the day on our facebook page b
